If you ’ re an outdoor enthusiast where you ’ ll be out for an extended time in- 0 temps, I ’ d look for a different jacket. This one is stylish and plenty warm for short times out in mild winter weather. I normally wear a large in clothing but typically size up in coats so I bought an XL. It fits perfect and I didn ’ t have the sleeve length issue as I saw in other reviews.( Just a note; Id say my arms are normal in length). Replacing an older TNF Goretex hard shell that held up for a very long time until the zippers failed. First impressions is that the number of pockets and their positioning is exactly the type of thing you did n't know you needed until you have it. Feels light and offers good maneuverability. Just roomy enough that layering with mid layer does n't feel bulky and stuffed. Although the armpit area is a bit snug, I have a Denali fleece so maybe the newer FutureFleece models will fit better. This jacket is more than I could have hoped for. I operate a snowplow at a ski resort at night during storms clearing parking lots. When I get out of the tractor into what is frequently a howling blizzard, this keeps me warm, sealed and protected. It's loose enough that I can wear layers underneath if it's really cold and the whole thing is lined with nylon so there is no binding at all. The hood and zipper come up to just the right place on my chin to be functional without hindering. And when it's wet snow or rain, it runs right off and I stay dry. Amazingly comfortable. There is nothing about this jacket that I do n't like. Bravo Carhartt!

I bought two, one for myself 70 ''( 175 lb.) and another for my son who about 75 ''( 225 lb). They were L and XL. they have been great in some windy, cold( mid 30's) with light precipitation. I prefer loose clothing and he is happy with the fit for himself. He is in out of the weather in his job and say the fit and performance has been great. Zip it up and tighten the waist band and you are definitely dry and warmer. I am happy that I bought them. The zipper pockets mean you do n't lose little items.

I ’ ve been using this jacket for the past 8 months and it ’s been extremely reliable in a variety of different conditions. Walking in sub zero temps, I found I was constantly undoing or taking off layers when using an insulated jacket, becoming sweaty and uncomfortable, but winter walking in the Skogsko I found it to be breathable and pleasant keeping me at a constant temperature. Once you stop, throwing on an insulated layer or hard shell will take care of the cooling down issue. Because of the fit( medium) and it ’s stylish cut, you get only compliments when out and about, but the quality if it ’s manufacture and rock solid construction means it ’s practically bulletproof and can be used in all sorts of work/outdoor scenarios. I ’ ve been using it more and more on the farm and for forestry work, as you can brush up and rub against tough bark or metal fencing or briars without so much as a scratch on the material, especially if it ’s been waxed a couple of times, and once it ’s waxed it becomes very tough and durable with a patina ’ d look which adds to its appeal. Worn under my Hoggs waterproof, this jacket becomes a completely wind proof, waterproof system- it can be blowing 60 mph and you just will not feel a thing- absolutely no warmth escaping from anywhere. I must mention that the construction, build, stitching and overall quality seems to be superior to the insulated version of this jacket, so I ’ d recommend buying a size larger and layering accordingly for winter, as this jacket just gets better with age. Out of all my outdoor clothing purchases in the last two years this has been my favourite, most useful, and will continue to provide reliable functionality for years to come.

This jacket is an addition to the three other various Carhartts that I have hanging in my coat closet. I was needing something on the lighter side this time for doing some e- bike trail riding around metro Detroit and also something to match the camo paint scheme on my fat tire. This jacket's Moss color turned out being about as close to U. S. Army `` mean green '' as you could hope to get and I also really like the high zip neck and velcro adjustable sleeves. The fit was perfect too, as always. Since I have the sincere `` need for speed '', I was also duly impressed with how warm it was against the Spring windchill temps. I paired this jacket up also with some Carhartt fingerless gloves which is another story but the combo has worked out exceedingly well for riding. I had second thoughts at first about the jacket because I was concerend about the slightly snug fit. I 'm about 185lbs and 6 ft tall with the medium size being snug but not uncomfortable at all. I just wondered about wearing layers witht he jacket. The arm length is perfect for me and the large size would be too long in the arms. I almost throught to return it to other options but realized this size is really perfect as is after wearing it on a few outings. I do n't really need additional mid- layers with this jacket so it has been great and wo n't be looking elsewhere for another jacket. I had the previous iteration of the Thermoball( I guess 1. 0?) and this one seems to be warmer as well.

Yes, this is a cropped boxy fit and runs a bit big. As long as you know that going into the purchase you won ’ t be disappointed. It ’s a FP dupe and a pretty good one( better than ones I found on Amazon). I am usually between a S and M and will often go with M in items like this to layer. But after reading reviews, I went with a S and I ’ m very happy. I can still layer under it but it ’s not too long, the sleeves are perfect and it ’s just baggy enough to be cute. I ’ m 5 ’ 3 ” and 145 for reference. I got the green and I like it but be warned it ’s a color that changes drastically depending on the light. Sometimes it looks darker or lighter and sometimes it pulls blue and almost looks teal. I ’ m considering buying in a second color because so far it has felt pretty warm and comfy to me.

First off, the product does not have a hood& the cuffs/hood/hem do not have cinch capability. That being said I love this! The hem is shorter in front, longer in back. I am 5 ’ 9 ” about 125lbs( and small chested) and go between small& medium tops. I ordered a small& feel it fits great with room to wear a hoodie underneath for fall/winter/spring hiking if needed. I also love the dual pocket in front! I cant wait to put it to good use!

I am looking forward to wearing this when it is cold and even a little misty! The fit is a bit boxy, but not unflattering. I like the quilted look and color! The zipper is nice and the raised collar. I am not sure that I will use the front pocket, more for style.

Very light weight. Packing compressed it a lot and it took a couple days for it to expand out. My first time wearing it was in 30 degrees and it kept me very warm. I am 5' 6 '' and a large was a good fit for me, especially for arm length. I am a little concerned about longevity because of how light weight it is, but time will tell on that. Material and stitching are top notch and the jacket is very comfortable to wear. I HATE the feeling of gortex and this has more of silky feel inside and out, which is perfect. For a general use winter jacket this is perfect.

Very light jacket in terms of weight. Does n't deliver a ton of warmth despite its size so I 'd use it with a fleece layer underneath. Love the fit and the OR black logo looks great on the sleeve
