This jacket is more than I could have hoped for. I operate a snowplow at a ski resort at night during storms clearing parking lots. When I get out of the tractor into what is frequently a howling blizzard, this keeps me warm, sealed and protected. It's loose enough that I can wear layers underneath if it's really cold and the whole thing is lined with nylon so there is no binding at all. The hood and zipper come up to just the right place on my chin to be functional without hindering. And when it's wet snow or rain, it runs right off and I stay dry. Amazingly comfortable. There is nothing about this jacket that I do n't like. Bravo Carhartt!

This one is stylish and plenty warm for short times out in mild winter weather. I normally wear a large in clothing but typically size up in coats so I bought an XL. It fits perfect and I didn ’ t have the sleeve length issue as I saw in other reviews.( Just a note; Id say my arms are normal in length). First impressions is that the number of pockets and their positioning is exactly the type of thing you did n't know you needed until you have it. Feels light and offers good maneuverability. This coat is warm! I 'm in northeastern ohio and this will be good for the colder days of winter and for skiing. I actually got too hot while wearing it in the grocery store. I like the color and the overall look. The sleeves are much too long for me( I can often wear petite), but at the same time I had to go to a size for it to fit my hips. So, this is all to say that I wish it was smaller on top and bigger on bottom rather than a straight fit.

[ This coat is extremely nice. It is heavy and even the arms seem insulated enough which you sometimes do n't see. It is a lot nicer than my previous coat from a different outdoor retailer. The sleeves are kind of small compared to my last jacket but I think it is due to the insulation and it is not uncomforable. In fact I feel more mobile in this jacket than my last. I am 5' 5 and it is pretty long but that is okay, I want to stay warm so long is what I want. It does n't seem to restrict movement. Two things about the shape are odd but not dealbreakers. The hood w/ the fur on is really large and flops over into my face even though I have a large head. I like that it will keep me warm that way but it is n't great visibilty. The in line pockets are weird! The angle is hard to get your hands into and I definintely would n't carry things in them. They need to be angled a little for more comfort and function. The good news is on top of those there are functional pockets with flaps that snap so you can still put your phone and keys safely in. I usually wear between a large and xl and so I got the xl and I am glad I did for layering purposes.

I 've been watching a number of reviews prior to purchasing this rain jacket, and finally pulled the trigger when I had an opportunity to try it on in store. The mustard colour is great in person, but what I 'm really impressed with is the build quality. All of the reviews talk highly of how well constructed this jacket is, and I ca n't disagree. What I was n't expecting was how the slight stretch in the jacket would clearly separate it from other similar rain jackets from other brands. It makes it a very comfortable rain jacket. My only knock? Sizing is really confusing and I 'm glad I was able to try it on in store. Based on the size guide, I would have purchased an XXL online. I have a 46 '' chest( 6' 4 '' and around 225 lbs). My Abisko trail fleeces are XXL. My Abisko Midsummer jacket is an XL. I bought a L. This is n't without precedent: I have a Greenland jacket in a L, and it fits fine. You might say `` you 'll never be able to layer with it! '' Well... I went looking for a thick fleece in store and had it under the jacket and it fit fine. So yeah- this jacket fits large. I think I would have been fine with an XL, but I like the slightly slimmer fit of the L.

Just a t shirt and the jacket kept me perfectly comfortable, so it ’s not too warm on its own. And I fell in the slushy snow many times and it kept me dry all day! Seems to run pretty big, I ’ m 6 ’ 2 ” 230lbs and it has long sleeves and lots of room for layering. That ’s what I was looking for so no complaints from me. Definitely happy with my purchase.

Love this jacket so much. Seems solid for all seasons and when super- cold, just layered up underneath. Into early spring now and the vents are great. Runs a little big, but that ’s ok. So freakin stoked!

Second time I have bought this jacket. Fits well, durable, layerable, function over fashion, but it's pretty fashionable too. Pit zips are always a winner, can wear the hood over my Smith Vantage helmet and use the breathe through with no need for a neck up. If you do n't have one, you should be getting one ASAP!

This jacket has all the features you want, and none you don ’ t need. It ’s insulated where you want it, but not too hot. It ’s perfect for layering, repels water well, and keeps the snow out. I love how the zipper is offset at the top so it ’s not rubbing on your chin all day well!
