This is one of the favorite rods I 've owned. I do alot of creek fishing mostly for bass but you can catch just about everything with these rods. Ca n't go wrong with a 7ft mh and the fast tip action is perfect for any occasion. Rod is durable and reels are well made. The reels that come with the combo are a little too big for what I like to use but they are nice reels. I still use them to catfish every now and then but prefer a 3000 size so I set the others aside. I o was n four of these combos and I 'm happy with each one.

I bought this at the beginning of the trout season just so I didn ’ t have the break the bank. After about a month of using it, I can confidently say that this rod exceeded my expectations. It casts nice and far, and the reel feels solid. The rod itself hasn ’ t given me any issues and is super sensitive. I would just recommend removing the line that comes on it and replacing it with nicer mono or braided. Besides that 10/10!!

The clicker is awesome, i was standing 20- 30 feet away and herd it over the noise from the rapids. I 've owned quite a few Zeb co reels over the last 40 years and they are an affordable and consistent performer. I rarely lose a fish because of the reel. They 're easy to use and fun. And this is the best I 've ever used. It's nearly silent. The drag action is smooth as silk and the retrieve is just as good. Gone is the loud ratcheting sound when a fish puts on a fight. If you like that, then grab the Authentic 33. It will sound like you expect, but this is silent and buttery smooth. Zeb co makes much more expensive reels, loaded up with quality bearings. Great product for the money. No issues with jamming so far. Casts well and the clicker is great. If money is no object than get yourself a catfish series Abu, if money is tight this reel will work well if you are familiar with using baitcasting reels. If you 're going for bigger cats you might consider changing the line.

Bought this reel for a black Friday event in 2018 and have used this reel on an ugly stick catfish rod and I 'm very impressed with it. The only things I had to do is break the reel down and re- oil it and change the line on the reel but I always re- oil my reels before using for the 1st time. I highly recommend this reel for the price. I restrung this reel with 65 lb braid and it's held up great but always back it with good mono line.
