And while it's maybe just a little too heavy and bulky for my ultralight goals, I bought it because I liked it so much in general( tried in on in a store, bought it on Mossejaw). And now I wear it anytime the weather's a little chilly. It's warm, a great fit-- not too tight, not too baggy-- and the material just feels great. I 've also had it out in light rain for half an hour or so, and nothing soaked in. So it really is at least a little water repellent. Only con is, I do n't like the double, left- handed zipper, but I 'll get used to it. And who knows, maybe I 'll end up bringing it on a backpacking trip, since I like it so much. Glad I bought it during the big sale!

I 've owned a lot of jackets over the years. Helly Hansen, Eddie Bauer, Spyder, Khul, Mammut, etc. This is by far the warmest jacket I 've ever owned. Even at 30- 35 degrees( F) I sometimes find myself unzipping it as it is too much insulation. I 've worn it out to about 5 degrees with only a light sweater under it and was not even slightly cold. There are more technical jackets out there if you 're looking for backcountry skiing stuff but if you 're just looking for something to keep you warm around town, winter hiking, or sledding with your kids, you ca n't beat this. Also looks great and super comfortable.

The jacket fit my normal sizing( didn ’ t need to size up) with enough room to add a layer or so during the colder months. Initial inspection ended with all seems, zippers and surfaces being in good condition and well made. It withstood the test of heavy winds and salt water leaving nothing to be desired. Additionally if you appreciate a rain jacket with a tall zip up to the neck and comfortable hood, this is a good option.

This jacket is an addition to the three other various Carhartts that I have hanging in my coat closet. I was needing something on the lighter side this time for doing some e- bike trail riding around metro Detroit and also something to match the camo paint scheme on my fat tire. This jacket's Moss color turned out being about as close to U. S. Army `` mean green '' as you could hope to get and I also really like the high zip neck and velcro adjustable sleeves. The fit was perfect too, as always. Since I have the sincere `` need for speed '', I was also duly impressed with how warm it was against the Spring windchill temps. I paired this jacket up also with some Carhartt fingerless gloves which is another story but the combo has worked out exceedingly well for riding. After all the accolades though, what stands out the most about this brand to me is that it was born in the City of Detroit for the tough, honest, hardworking man and wearing it, to quote Doc Holiday, kind of reminds me of me.

I 've been watching a number of reviews prior to purchasing this rain jacket, and finally pulled the trigger when I had an opportunity to try it on in store. The mustard colour is great in person, but what I 'm really impressed with is the build quality. All of the reviews talk highly of how well constructed this jacket is, and I ca n't disagree. What I was n't expecting was how the slight stretch in the jacket would clearly separate it from other similar rain jackets from other brands. It makes it a very comfortable rain jacket. My only knock? Sizing is really confusing and I 'm glad I was able to try it on in store. Based on the size guide, I would have purchased an XXL online. I have a 46 '' chest( 6' 4 '' and around 225 lbs). My Abisko trail fleeces are XXL. My Abisko Midsummer jacket is an XL. I bought a L. This is n't without precedent: I have a Greenland jacket in a L, and it fits fine. You might say `` you 'll never be able to layer with it! '' Well... I went looking for a thick fleece in store and had it under the jacket and it fit fine. So yeah- this jacket fits large. I think I would have been fine with an XL, but I like the slightly slimmer fit of the L.

[ This jacket caught my eye because of its' bright colors and classic, yet uniquely new design. I love the bugaboo embroidery on the back as well. But the biggest selling point for me with this jacket is its' versatility. I am easily kept warm in New York winter with the full coat, but on days when it's milder, I love that I can easily just take off the blue outer shell and only use the inner piece-- which is also a great stand alone jacket. It fits true to size and looks like how it does on the website. I 'm 5' 3 '' and 135 lbs and bought a Medium and it fits great. Not oversized or too tight anywhere. But it is form fitting. So if you like a baggier look and feel, I 'd go up a size. The quality of material and the zippers is excellent, and it's really easy to put the jacket back together if you choose to separate the layers. The only things that would make this jacket better for me is if there was a hood for the rain/snow, although the high neck helps a lot. Amazing. Such a great jacket; it ’s lightweight, breathable, good for active use, feels extremely well made, and has a great fit. At 6 ’ 1, 165lbs, the medium felt tailored. The octa lining is done fantastically. Pertex and octa are both some of the best durable, lightweight, and breathable materials and pair amazingly well. Construction is some of the best I ’ ve seen; very heavy duty dual use zipper that works like butter is amazing to see on such a lightweight garment. Dual chest pockets also clutch and super practical if wearing harnesses. Hand pockets have sync and keychain holders, and feel great to use in a more casual environment. Octa is like super synthetic cashmere, extremely well insulating. This jacket I think can work in any environment from below freezing to upper 60 ’s with proper layering. Simply one of the best jackets of all time imo.

I work as a climbing guide in Colorado, so my work takes me to a variety of locations and climates. My initial guess as to what the Keele would be like was similar to other grid fleeces: lightweight and flexible. The latter is more true than the former. This layer was surprisingly heavy- and I think that's fantastic. It presents a different layering option than other mid- layers that tend to strive to be light. The inner fabric is extremely soft, so it feels great next to skin. I was caught in a mild drizzle and the outer fabric did a great job beading water and not letting me get soaked. I 'm 5'10 '' 165 and it felt just a hair big on me. If it was colder( ice climbing or mountaineering) I would appreciate the room to layer. As the only mid- layer I was wearing it was just a slight bit big, but I did n't find that problematic at all.

I am a rock climbing guide who guides across Colorado and Utah and its important for me to have gear that works well, is durable and looks professional. I was excited for this hoody to arrive as it checked a lot of those boxes for me. The large fits ideally for me at 6' 2 '', 215lbs and long arms. I have a bit of an issue in the past with MHW sizing as it seemed I was right in between a L and XL but this jacket fits wonderfully. The waterproofing is functional if you are stuck in some light rain, as the water will bead right off. The brushed grid interior gives the hoody that cozy feel which means you 'll never want to take it off. It is a lot denser of a hoody than I was expecting but that's a positive in my books. I really think this hoody is for anyone who wants a full zip mid layer jacket but it will find itself at home the most in the backpacks of you Spring rock climbers!

I am a search and rescue volunteer and climbing wall instructor who spends my time in Arizona and Washington state. Working in a wide range of environmental conditions requires that my gear does the same. I ordered the Keele grid hoody as large, my usual size, and I found it fit true to size. The Keele hoody has performed exceptionally while climbing, traveling, and hiking. The recycled polyester double weave fabric is my favorite feature of the Keele. Its brushed back grid interior is soft and wicks moisture well while the DWR coating on the exterior provides durability and water resistance. Even when soaked through, the Keele kept me warm climbing in less- than- ideal conditions. The three- piece hood functions incredibly well and I found it fit over or under a climbing helmet. I have thoroughly enjoyed using the Keele and recommend it as a base or mid layer for nearly any outdoor endeavor.

You can never have too many midlayers! This statement is always true, and that is one of the many reasons the Keele Grid hoody is something you should get. I 'm 5' 9 '' 165lbs. and the medium fits comfortably. It does n't have a really technical fit like an r1; it's a more relaxed fit. I have been a fan of Marmot since my first jacket( the Alpine Light Jacket) which has been with me for most of my outdoor adventures into the backcountry and high altitude peak. I still remember when the 10, 000 meter parka was the one of the best pieces of equipment a mountaineer could have for protection at very cold, high altitudes. Not sure if they still make that. Back to the review of this jacket. I like the fact that it is does not come with a liner so this makes it more versatile for layer. Not sure of the durability for and longevity as the material is lighter and therefor repeated use with pack straps and harnesses may wear stress areas out as they are not reinforced. I have yet to find rainy enough day where the jacket has not performed. Hopefully this waterproofing with continue over the life time of the jacket. My biggest issue now with the latest products from all makers( Patagonia, The North Face, etc) is the delamination of the gortex material after a few years of use. Hopefully they have resolved this issue. Looking forward to many years of use with this jacket. Check in with me in a few years, I will let you know how this performed

There's a reason you see so many really favorable reviews of this jacket. It checks all the boxes. Packable, super light, blocks the wind, repels mist or light rain and looks great. Pull it out of your kit at a windy summit or the top of a pitch. If you are slim and athletic, it fits true to your usual size. I have a paunchy `` dad bod '', so I had to go up one size for midriff room. You wo n't have to, though. And while it's maybe just a little too heavy and bulky for my ultralight goals, I bought it because I liked it so much in general( tried in on in a store, bought it on Mossejaw). And now I wear it anytime the weather's a little chilly. It's warm, a great fit-- not too tight, not too baggy-- and the material just feels great. I 've also had it out in light rain for half an hour or so, and nothing soaked in. So it really is at least a little water repellent. Only con is, I do n't like the double, left- handed zipper, but I 'll get used to it. And who knows, maybe I 'll end up bringing it on a backpacking trip, since I like it so much. [ I ’ m 5 ’ 2 ” with prominent mid- section so I ordered L based on the sizing guide. The fit and jacket length is perfect for me. However, the sleeves are quite long but 1 fold fixes the problem. It ’s of very soft, light weight material. The color is as beautifully pictured online. I find the flap over the pockets a bit inconviniencing but I think that ’s helpful to deter pickpocketing. As the material is soft& light weight, when I place my iphone 11 in it, you can see the weight of the phone pulling that side of the jacket down. I ’ ve used it in light rain already. It did what it ’s supposed to do. I think even in a heavy downpour, it won ’ t disappoint. I used the hood without needing to pull the strings& it sat on my head without a fight. This rain coat will be good for spring, fall, and Europe weather in November/December. Overall, I love this rain jacket. I fell in love with it at first sight& more after I tried it on.
