As someone with a lot of foot problems, finding shoes that are comfortable, supportive, and that look nice had been a challenge. After trying similar LL Bean and Timberland shoes, I finally got the Moab 3 from Merrell. After 4 years of daily use and frequent outdoors activity including outings with my son's scout troop, the upper started to crack where my foot flexes. The sole and lining was still in good condition with reasonable wear. With a rainy camping trip looming, I got the replacement pair and have been just as happy with the new shoes as I had been with the old ones. These are fantastic shoes that offer great stability, decent protection against water, and great comfort.

My foot size is 8. 5 regular. The boot size is the same but it feels `` spacious ''. Not too long or short or even wide but ample- enough to accommodate a thick sock. My advice would be that if your foot is low volume or on the small side of the size like mine, order down, if your foot is high volume, order your size, and if your foot is on the high side, order up. A size 8 might have been perfect for me but might not have been roomy enough for thick socks. It's a trade off. The boot leather is super thick but the boots were comfortable right out of the box. No break in required. So far they 're holding up well. The steel toe has not been a problem in the winter cold or summer heat. It is not a factor except when a chunk of wood slips out of my tired hands. I had to learn the need of a steel toe the hard way. I only wish Timberland attached a pull loop to the heel. They put one on their loafers but not on a 6 '' boot. Unusual. A loop would help with the on/off process. What would also help would be lace hooks in place off the top two lace holes. With lace holes the laces have to be pulled down and out to loosen them to widen the boot for removal. You ca n't just kick these boots off. Neither of the above nit picks is a deal breaker. I love these waffle stompers.

I ’ m on my second pair. They last about 14 months for me. But I truly don ’ t mind because these are by far the most comfortable deck boot/shoe whatever you wan na call it that I ’ ve worn. I compare the soul of the boot to one of the “ helm pads ” that are nice and squishy and comfy to save your feet back and knees on those nasty days running in a 27 ’ cc. With these no matter where you stand you have a helm pad under your feet. I ’ ve had many pairs of the original 6 ” xtratufs over the years and one pair of all black leathers 6 ” boots for work and the sports are still by far my favorite. If I ever hear they are going to discontinue this line, I will hoard as many pairs as I can lol. This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I 've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you ca n't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and do n't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. These were so comfortable hiking in Arizona in varying temperatures. I even wore them at the Grand Canyon paved rim trail and some of Kaibab dirt switchbacks.

This was my first pair of mid hikers( I prefer ankle height) but I immediately loved how comfortable these boots felt when I tried them on. I bought them for a trip to Sri Lanka, and my first hike with them ended up being an all- day 8- mile trek in the rain forest – I didn ’ t know this going into the hike or I might have worn my broken- in boots instead! But these were sooooo comfortable and kept my feet happy all day. I wore them several times over the next couple weeks and every time was so happy I had decided on these boots. Also, I like that they are feminine without being too girly. Can ’ t wait to take them to Portugal next month!

I bought these boots originally because of the good sale price and the color. LOL. But when I received them, put them on to go for a walk, I was amazed at how comfortable they were. The FloatPro insole is the equivalent to an expensive orthotic insole in that it is supportive and yet has good cushion. It will be a go- to hiker since it did very well in the ice and snow. It is also very warm and dry!

They also seem to run a bit narrow which works out well for me, my feet are tad narrow and these hug my feet well. Besides that they are true to size. I haven ’ t gotten to use them much yet, but I took them out for a couple mile spin and found them pretty comfy, just need to break them in a bit more:)

[ I 've worn these only on suburban roads and treadmill so far because of the extreme weather we 've been having but so far( approximately 20 miles total) they have been outstanding. The fit is amazing. I have room in the toe box and the height is just right on my ankle. I ca n't wait to hike on trails this spring.

[ I have found these boots to be extremely comfortable and very supportive. I normally add my own insoles to all boots but didn ’ t need to with these. They are true to size and very well made. The traction on the sole is spaced well. It does not collect excessive mud/etc. I would highly recommend these boots over other popular brands I have had before them.

Very comfortable. I was surprised by how comfortable they felt when putting them on. Only downside is they are a bit challenging getting them on. It gets easier as you wear them. All in all it's a very solid, comfy alternative. They are not as hard or clunky as you would think. I will probably get the hunter green pair and another pair of the Black ones. I love them.
