Love them!!! I get a lot of compliments on these shoes. I have had issues with planters fasciitis for the last year and half and cracked my ankle from falling because of it. I normally wear Ghosts and have great and love them but I got the Caldera 7 on sale so I decided to try them out. I use them daily, not just for running. Use them as hiking and backpacking shoes, 3- 4 days of light use to break them in, than a 3 day backpacking trip with substantial load, few days later a SAR trip, and a day hike. Great shoes. No hot spots, great room for my wide feet and toes and nice support. I usually wear boots with my heavy pack so was pleasantly surprised. Seem little tight first through the middle of my feet first, especially around the top, but went away after couple days of light wear. Only issue is the loop on the back. Could be slightly bigger to allow a finger to go through, would allow shoes to be put on a lot easier.

I have been running for 56 years. I have seen the development of all shoes from all brands. For me, the Timp 5 is one of the best shoes I have ever used. It just feels like running. It feels like hitting the trails. I know other runners have had issues with the Timp series, but for me, this is just an excellent shoe.

I wear Brooks Ghost Max and those are about near perfect for a running shoe. The Caldera 8 has close to the same feel and just slightly less cushion. Ever see the character, Tigger, from the Winnie the Pooh stories? He literally bounces with every step! That ’s how you will feel with these shoes. I bought the shoes because we own 2 large Golden Doodles who need to go outside or be walked several times a day. Sometimes we run. These shoes have gone thru mud, snow, puddles, and more, and never missed a beat. My feet stayed dry and I just rinsed the shoes upon returning inside and good as new. I normally wear a 7. 5, but sized up to an 8 and the fit is perfect. I really like the extra room in the toebox, so I can wiggle my toes. However, the shoes do tend to run a bit narrow, so just a heads up if you have a wide foot. The shoes easily accomodated my orthotic once I pulled out the insole provided.( Hey, Nike, these shoes should have a unglued, easily removable, insole!) Overall, I am thrilled with my purchase.

I really love these shoes. Brooks seem to have good quality that lasts. A pair I bought last year( Ghost) is still in great shape after consistent use. I decided to get new ones and I am glad I moved to this style( Cascadia 18). They are super comfortable. I think they will be my new go to. I will say they kind of seem to turn my foot a bit outwards but after walking in them they are very comfortable and my gait was good.
