I bought this shirt recently and I like the fit, color and comfort( it feels very light). I 'm 5' 4 '' and was 125 pounds when I purchased 3 of the t- shirts in medium and I feel they fit perfect for me. Then I gained about 10 pounds so I ordered 5 in large because I like shirts loose and I forgot to mention it is not clingy.

Huge fan of this! It's a go to for slightly warmer to hotter temperatures. It's comfortable and feels far more breathable and quality than alternative sun hoodies on the market( REI Sahara sun hoody) Also, the protection I get with it from the sun is amazing. The hood is more oversized so it's easy to wear over a helmet or to sorta pull to the side to provide extra protection from the sun-- even when you 're just driving and there's bright sun coming from the side window. I own two and am dreaming of a third!

Excellent quality, XL fits me perfectly, I am 6' 0 '' 190 lbs. Super comfortable and perfect when a heavier weight hoodie might get too warm. Breathes well, I wear this trail hiking in cooler mornings in Arizona. I really like the hood, I pull it up over my cap to protect my neck from the sun, and unlike other, fruit flavored hoodies I have, it is roomie enough not to be constricting, and the geometry is perfect to stay up without blowing down. I wish it was available in black and some lighter colors.

I fell between sizes and sized up because it was described as somewhat slimmer fitting, but I had to exchange for the smaller size because there was plenty of room through the middle and enough in the hips( also does n't go low on the hips. Super comfortable and breathe as well. I ’ ve bought five of these so far and they ’ re fantastic. One thing that some people might care about is that the paint or coating on the snaps comes off and chips really easily. [ I purchased this shirt in a medium being a 6 foot tall 175 pound male and the fit is what most people would call sport like. I like that it ’s a little long because most medium shirts are hardcore belly shirts when I pick my arms up a little.( I ’ m not that type of guy) If you are than this shirt might not be for you. I have a snap button shirt this will go under on my backpacking endeavors this summer. It seems like weight enough to be worn under something without being too hot but I guess we will see. Being light weight makes me skeptical about its ability to resist wear and tear, however I can ’ t speak from trekking experience.

Had to purchase a long sleeve shirt while cycling through Austria when temperatures dropped from the high 80s to the low 40s in 24 hours. I have the patina green in medium size. I go on day hikes at least twice weekly and have this shirt keeps me as comfortable as possible even in 30° Celsius weather. This shirt stays dry as I sweat during my hike. If the weather starts to cool it is easy to put a fleece layer over this one. Lastly, I do n't put this in the dryer after washing as it can become completely dry in an less than an hour in my house where the A/C temperature is set to 20° Celsius. Overall I really like it and I will get a second pair to use when I do the Salkantay Trail in the near future.

Got this to replace a 25+ year old Nike ACG baselayer that is still wearable. I bought this for it's slick and soft material, color( I love brighter colored base layers) raglan shoulder sleeves and OR's size/fit. This is actually my first OR top I 've ever purchased and I am so happy that the fit is perfect in the body/torso and sleeve length. Follow the size guide and know your own size dimensions and you ca n't go wrong. I ca n't believe how this extremely ultra light layer keeps me so warm. I hope OR continues to offer bright color options for this echo long sleeve crew base layer because the fit is perfect for me. Not too tight, but not loose and baggy. Really impressed with OR's products so far.

I love these. The Echo line of long/short sleeve and tanks are my absolute favorite OR product. The fit is great. I ’ m 5 ’ 5 ” and athletic. I work out to look and feel good and so often the clothes I find from retailers are made for guys 6 feet plus with a flat chest and no butt. Not so this product. I buy a size small and it fits perfectly. It ’s great for working out or working on the farm. It wicks moisture and protects me from the sun. I have the echo short sleeve and echo tanks too. My only wish is that they ’ d offer more bright colors.

These are by far my favorite synthetic hiking shirts. So lightweight and breathable, beautiful colors, perfect fit, super comfortable, dries fast and wicks sweat. The raglan sleeves mean no seams for backpack straps to rub and cause irritation. A slightly higher UPF rating would be nice, but would also make the fabric heavier, so I understand the trade- off there. The smooth texture works well when layering too.

Best all around shirt ever. Comfortable, Durable, and Attractive. Easy to hand wash, and great for Travel. Provides excellent sun protection for arms, and can easily transition to short sleeve if desired. I have used these shirts for 2nd layer daily wear for decades. I have no idea how many I have purchased. As the shirts age, I switch from everyday wear to yard work wear. I wear them until I can see thru them. Highly recommend. Will not disappoint.

I work for the Depart of Food& Ag and spend most of my day in the field surveying& inspecting insect traps. This shirt with the extra pockets near the waste is amazing. Easy click buttons are nice, BUT, they have unspaped a few times if the shirt gets caught on something. I suppose I would rather have the shirt buttons un- latch than have the shirt itself tear. It's also nice that the UPF is strong. Another complaint is that is holds wrickles a bit well. However, all n all, it's a great shirt o highly recommend.

Great lightweight shirt. Have multiple to wear under nearly anything. Only issue I 've ran into is some pilling on where my IWB holster sits. that's self inflicted. Not a design flaw. Work in the private security sector. OR makes some quality products. Been using them since working in SOF.

Bought this jersey at the Sea Otter Classic Expo, and wore it on the mountain bike tour. Loved the extra length in the back and the way the seam design at the shoulders and the stretch fabric gave me freedom of movement on the bike all day. I went with the blue color but want to grab the green one too.

The Freewheel Short Sleeve Jersey is more like a daily driver shirt over a traditional jersey. You can wear it daily for day to day tasks then hit the trail after work. The material is similar to other Outdoor Research shirts in the 2024 clothing catalog. I took the shirt for weekly rides on local trail heads in MD in spring and on the Santos Trails in FL on a work trip. The stretch is nice when you catch a sticker bush and length is nice if you have a long torso. The only con in my opinion is that a bring color would be nice for hunting seasons. I currently have the blue shirt and it looks good.

Finally got the chance to ride in this. Breathable and is a nice fabric. I do n't see a huge difference between riding in this versus any tech fabric shirt though. It also feels big. I think a snugger fit would help as I worry about snagging it on branches.

[ Have worn a few times and overall very good. Does n't wick moisture as well as I had hoped but overall keeps me smelling fine after a few days, is comfortable in cold and heat, and looks good( bought black so doesnt show moisture) Downsides are price( all merino shirts are expensive so not that big of a downside) and extra effort to clean( again all wool products).

[ Used this shirt on a 2 day hike in the Whites. Worked perfectly. Kept the moisture off of me yet kept me semi warm. The problem I have with synthetics is the smell. I rock and roll out there and it comes at a cost. This bad boy, you could hardly tell. Passed the wife smell test 😁😁😁

Reviewing this from the POV of an end user& tech fabric geek. Love the materials of the MH AirMesh. Already have the hoody; just bought the crew. Agree w/ those who say it's very warm when at standstill or w/ a wind layer over top, yet while moving or with wind and no wind layer it's like being naked. To me that says the fabric is functioning precisely how a base layer shoulder. Only con is hypothetical: delicate fabric. I 've had no issues with snags, pilling, abrasion, etc. But I would n't be surprised were I to, given the softness of the fibers and the openness of the fabric they 're arranged into. Cut/fit are unremarkable w/ exception of the somewhat high neck hole and the different accent fabric used there. Packs tiny, resilient fibers bounce back into shape immediately. Most comparable to the Patagonia Cap Air wool base layer, minus the itchiness/roughness and the ultra premium price point. Also, like Polartec Power Stretch pro, but much lighter and more airy fabric, fwiw.

I recently purchased a red version of the AirMesh. I find it incredibly warm for its weight. Packs down to nothing which is very helpful.

[ My daughter bought me this shirt last year for my 90th birthday. In hot weather or cool temps it seems to trap the air and is the perfect shirt. I have gotten 3 more in sundry colors for myself, one for my wife, and a crew neck airmesh for my adult son.
5
Evan
In the first image, it is very light and breathable, but the fibers inside seem to be easily lost, and there are some fibers in the hand after a little scratch. I am 167cm tall and my bust is 98cm, so I wear a size M which is very comfortable. I bought 2 at the same time, for me it should be good for sweating a lot without losing warmth. I tried wearing it the other way around and it was a different feeling, like a normal sweatshirt. A very special piece of clothing, worth trying. When washing, do n't turn it around, it's better to put it in a laundry bag

JP
Love this shirt. Wear it all the time and have already ordered another one- so comfortable. If they eventually make a short sleeved version I 'll buy that, too. It's a great base layer and good for cool/cold weather chillin'. Be aware that there is zero wind blocking- it's a mesh fabric- you must have a shell if you 're hiking/skiing/walking to mailbox. That said- I 've hiked in 15- 20F with wind and just this base and a heavy shell no problem. Note: It's very `` roomy ''. Great for me, but if you 're a bean pole you may be swimming in it- think about that when selecting sizes.

I wore this shirt hiking in the Utah National Parks this month and it was the absolute best piece of gear to bring. Quick drying, incredibly breathable, and protected me in the 85 degree sun. I wore it most days while wearing a pack and there ’s absolutely no pilling on the fabric where the pack made contact

Confused529
Great shirts! Could always use more solid colours! But one question to the designers…why the odd choice of slanting the fabric orientation on the left front shoulder/chest? It really keeps the piece as an outdoor garment and limits the wearability in a travel/city situation.
5
Joe G
Great shirt. I 've with our 2. I have a Med and a Large and both fit week( 510/180). Ca n't say enough good about this shirt. Classy, protective, form fitting. I hunt, fish, shoot prs matches, do yard work, and eat dinner out in this thing. I live in AZ and sun protection is a must. Everyone 2- 3 of these. I 've used them heavily for 3 years and they are just starting to look worn. That's pretty fair, other shirts do n't get that far.

I wore this same shirt every day for over a month on a backpacking trip, and it was solid the entire time. I love the fabric, and the fact that it has snap buttons is awesome. The ventilation is great, and it keeps me from getting sunburnt. It dries in less than ten minutes in the sun and does a good job of odor management.

I 've tried quite a few MTB jerseys over the years, and this one is by far the best. It's lightweight and breathable, seemingly durable( have n't crashed yet, so I ca n't say for sure), and the UPF sun protection makes a black jersey feel cool even in direct sunlight. The sleeves are sufficiently long( I 'm 6' 2 '' and wear a size small, so this is often an issue), and I like that the cuffs are n't fitted. Having the integrated lens cloth in the front of the jersey makes it easier to use, but could stand to be a little larger.
5
Jacob J
This jersey fits really well and is breathable enough for days up to around 75° with some sun. The material is strong enough to withstand some rock/tree abrasions. The fit feels great and is tight enough to not have a ton of flapping, but not so tight that I feel like I can ’ t move.

I just received this shirt. I ordered it to replace an older model of the same shirt, that I have had for 4 or 5 years. It is perfect for biking, hiking, pilgrimages, travel and around town. The old shirt held up great but is starting to show it ’s age. Sadly this new shirt has buttons replacing the snaps- but the fabric, fit and versatility make it the best shirt ever!

I love this shirt. I 'm 5' 9 '', 32D, ~145lbs, and I wear the small. It's classy enough to wear to work in my office; lightweight and cool enough to wear on trail. I like that it stretches, I like the buttons( I 'm not into snaps, too many wardrobe malfunctions), I like that it reaches my wrists( I have a 5' 7 '' wingspan), and I like that I feel good wearing it. The only thing that gets me is that the men's version has lots of color options and the women's is very limited. Maybe a nice sage green? Brick? Light blue? Dark pink? I 'll be checking the website

Jenny
My new favorite top for cool spring mornings or roll up the sleeves for hot afternoons. I have gotten so many compliments too from strangers. I purchased the white titanium one with the nifty pattern. I was worried about the buttons but I just leave the cuffs unbuttoned so it is easy to roll them up when in a hurry. It still smells good after quite a few days of sweating. Comfy loose fit!
5
Sweets
Not sure what all the griping about snap buttons is about, especially with a fabric so light. I 've pulled snaps out on technical fabric like this, which sucks more than the inconvenience of making sure a button is pushed through. This review is left on first impressions, so I have n't tested it in hot or sunny conditions yet. Based on my first impressions, I would n't hesitate to wear this regardless of what activities I have planned for the day. Golfing, biking, hiking or hanging out at the beach, you 'll look good doing it although you 'll probably need a new one after a crash.

Jody
I got this because I was looking for a lightweight long sleeve outdoor button up. This did not disappoint! It's so smooth, and cooling against your skin, and very lightweight! The fabric is really high quality and I find very flattering for my shape. Also, it's really a nice shirt so you can wear it indoors for other occasions. I have n't used it in super sunny weather yet so I ca n't attest to its UPF rating but I 'm looking forward to trying it!

[ I have three of these shirts( 2 smalls& 1 medium) and they are excellent for sun coverage. The fabric is light weight and dries quickly. For reference, I weigh 123 and wear an 8- 10 or sm- medium in a shirt. This shirt runs a little large. The small fits best although the medium is not overly large. This is not a fitted style shirt.
