I ’ m on my second pair. They last about 14 months for me. But I truly don ’ t mind because these are by far the most comfortable deck boot/shoe whatever you wan na call it that I ’ ve worn. I compare the soul of the boot to one of the “ helm pads ” that are nice and squishy and comfy to save your feet back and knees on those nasty days running in a 27 ’ cc. With these no matter where you stand you have a helm pad under your feet. I ’ ve had many pairs of the original 6 ” xtratufs over the years and one pair of all black leathers 6 ” boots for work and the sports are still by far my favorite. If I ever hear they are going to discontinue this line, I will hoard as many pairs as I can lol. I ’ m really psyched to see Xtratuf add different outsole traction options to their awesome product. I was gifted these from Mrs. Claus. And received a size 11. I typically wear sizes from 10- 11 across most brands. I have owned the 6 inch deck boots for a year and found them amazing to put on in a second and bomb to the mountain or to kick start the snowblower to blast the snow out the driveway to get to the studio on time. At times, on ice and snow, the deck boots can be a bit slippery so added traction with edge syping would be a bonus in my environment here in Truckee. After try- on this boot does not fit the same way as the deck boot which I sized up. 5 size with and the deck boot model is roomy. These boots however cramp my toes in the same size. If I size up from 11 the next size is twelve. I recommend ordering two sizes to try on. These seem to run a size small whereas the 11 fits me as if it ’s a 10.

I had a pair of Carhartt boots prior to these and the carhartts only lasted 6 months. I 've had these Timberland Pro's for almost 3 years now. They break in fast, comfortable to walk in all day. They 're really warm in the winter, not too hot in the summer. Very good water proofing. Slip resistant is very good for oils, hydraulic fluid, fuel, aircraft de- ice fluid. There are only 2 complaints I have; the oem laces are complete trash and so are the oem insoles. The soles lasted me only 8 months and laces tore in like 6 months. Buy better insoles and Kevlar laces. I 've dropped parts& tools on my foot and did n't feel a thing. These are also really good boots for welding and using cutting torches. 10/10 must have boot for mechanics. UPDATE 7/20/24: the boots are STILL GOOD AFTER 4 YEARS of daily abuse in all climates and conditions. These are the only work boots I will buy the rest of my life. UPDATE 11/23/24: The boots lost their waterproofing. Ordered a new pair. I will forever only buy these Timberland Boondock boots!!

The Chaco footbed is nice and supportive, and the shaft is wide enough for easy on and off. Also love the finger loop at the back to help. These are snug at the instep if you have “ taller ” feet; it took a few wears to start to feel comfortable, and takes a shoe horn every time to get them on. Surprisingly roomy at toe box( which is where my width is). Learher and construction seem good. Cork later at the sole makes these a bit more casual, but colorwise, plays well with all the neutrals. Bought these as soon as they came out for a busy summer. My first adventure was a Grand Canyon Rim- 2- Rim hike in July. 24+ miles in one day. These were fantastic. Perfect in the extreme heat and dried relatively quickly after a few stream crossings. I then wore these on a 24 hour( 42 mile) hike through the mountains of north Georgia. Very hot and humid, and again no issues with discomfort or blisters. Even after wading through several streams. I have over 100 miles in these and my feet were not a factor and I never thought about my shoes.

I 've been wearing Lone Peaks for a long time, and the Timp is even a step up from those other early models. Though I 've had surgery on both feet and ca n't wear a lot of other hikers, these are comfortable in all aspects. Lightweight, not too hot, good toe room, great look, quick to dry. They seem sturdy so far. Two small complaints- wish the tongue was gusseted to keep debris out, and would like a swatch of heel velcro for gaiters. But those are minor issues. This hiking shoe is so smooth. The weight of the shoe is so light which is exactly what I need with ankle issues. I went half a step up because I wear ankle braces that fit comfortably inside the shoe. I usually wear an 11 in Altra but got 11. 5 to accommodate the ankle supports. The high top hides most of my ankle support which is nice. I highly recommend this shoe for those that are challenged physically by their feet with some mobility issues. For me it means I can enjoy more pain- fee hikes and walks around the city/country.

[ I have hiked 1000's of miles on Asolo boots over the years and had many models. This one runs a tad bigger ue I have always been a 10 in the boot line so I would say it fits more like a 10. 5 but comfortable. Very rigid sole, which I look for in a boot and slightly on the heavier side, which does n't bother me. I did see where someone complained about a stitching clustster were the toungue is sewn together amd that was rather uncomfortable as it sat directly beneath one of the lace locks. I took a pair of flat nose pliers to the material wad.. for lack of a better term.. lol and worked it over a bit w the pliers squeezing and turning wo tearing it! So do n't go to crazy just cruah it down and it solved that problem rather easily. Great boot. Fit is larger. Crush the extra material to soften it.

I 've had this boot for 2 weeks and it has held up well with hourly patrols which total around 15, 000- 20, 000 steps a day. Since the Trail fit me well I tried the Panorama and am happy so far- I did 18k steps in one day without any break- in and had no issues. I find these very comfortable, fairly light, and excellent fit for those with wide feet. I have been happy with durability of the Trail so I 'm assuming that will be the case with these as well. About the only quirk is the tongue and lacing- it did take me some trial and error to get the right placement of tongue under the laces. Other reviewers have mentioned it so it's real, but in my opinion it just takes a little tweaking to find the right lace tension& tongue placement.

[ I had a pair of Newton Ridge 2 last year that held up very well, except for the tread wearing down to almost nothing, and water would trickle in after they had aged a few months. Moving into the Newton Wander has felt like a big step up. Cosmetically they look much nicer, and have a sleek look. They clean up very nicely too. I work in a lot of slick, and icy terrain so my biggest selling point is traction and durability. I have slipped around here and there wearing these, so that's why I have to dock one star. When hiking, working, climbing traction is absolutely key, and these unfortunately could be better in that regard. That aside they keep my feet dry, warm, and comfortable without making my feet sweat, and even after a long day at work my feet are n't aching at the end of it. All in all I do recommend these boots, but to advise caution on overly slick surfaces.

I work as a land surveyor and walk/ hike several hours a day. The terrain is often uneven and rocky. I also tend to have `` hot '' feet. Any boot with a `` water proof '' label are guaranteed to have me feet wet from sweat within 2 hours. These boots keep my feet dry, cool, and comfortable. I 've been working outside in work boots for 35 years, and I 've worked all over the world. These might be the best boots I 've ever had. I still need to judge the durability, but so far, so good. Must say so far so good. Have had them less than a month but break in period was short and boots have been a comfortable addition to workday. On my feet a lot and was concerned I would not have same comfort as previous boots( had for over 12 years). A little early to comment on durability but have faith in the Carhart name. Rated quality and durability a 3 only because of short time in ownership

This is my third pair of Carhart's 6 '' Soft Toe Work Boot. I love them. They are tough, long lasting and comfortable. I use them for my everyday foot wear except dress occassions. I even take my daily four mile walk in them. I hike in them and hunt in them. For me, they are the best boot I have every owned in terms of quality. When properly maintained, they are water repellent. This would n't have been my third pair if I was n't completely sold on this Carhart product.

I was looking for a thin steel toe that ’s flexible and comfortable but doesn ’ t feel cheap. This is it. Looks and fits great. No break in period needed. I ’ m on my feet 14 hours a day( about 20, 000 steps a day on the job) and I have no problem wearing these boots. 10 out of 10 will buy again.
