So I ’ ve got to be honest.. I really wanted to buy the new waders from First Lite. So much so that I sold the G3 Guides I had worn for several years. They were stocking foots, and for my purposes, boot foot would ’ ve been a better move. But I loved them- they ’ re incredible waders made here in the USA. And I wore the heck out of ‘ em. When First Lite announced that they were delaying their wader launch for another season, I went back to what I knew( Simms), saw this new model, and figured I would give it a try. First impressions: outstanding quality as always, the boot fits snug to the heel, and the zipper is a total game changer. I can ’ t help but think they made these with hunters in mind, given the color and specs( zip+boot foot+webbing on the front). The color is very similar to the Sitka Delta waders in their solid earth tone. Even if First Lite drops something truly revolutionary on their wader next year, I plan on keeping these forever.. a truly excellent product from Simms as always. Note- I normally wear a 9. 5 in shoes, and ordered the 10 Reg in these. Fits perfect so far!

Fit and finish are everything you 'd expect from Simms. Ease of movement even when bending down and squatting is huge. Nothing feels like it is going to rip or break. Using theses to mostly hunt in pairing them with a good leg gaiter to protect the neoprene on the boots should only make them better. I really hope they drop this color combo or similar in a stocking foot in the future. I wish they would have used a OD green boot on these. Boots are super comfortable out of the box and fit true to size. Went with theses over Sitkas deltas, nice to see Simms tapping into the hunting scene a little more. Bring on more solid dark colors and combos! Ill never own a pair of non zip waders again, total game changer!

The boot is fairly lightweight and rugged. Very simple boot without much to it. Fits true to size and is able to lace up securely. Not as stiff as most other wading boots. I like that it has the metal rivets along the eyelights for the laces. These boots appear as if they were made to last. I would recommend this boot to others. It was a tad bulkier than what it appears in the picture, but not excessively so. Fits well with a lot of good support. Easy to walk in for a long day of fishing.

I give these 5 stars as I have put somewhere around 300 days or more fishing my first pair of these and have put 20 or so on a second because the sole cracked on the first. I fish the Rio Grande in New Mexico several days a year crawling on the volcanic rock, boulders, cactus, sage and they have held up to it. I have tortured these boots and they held as long as any other guides much more expensive boots. I only wish I could get them with about a 3rd the volume as I have a size 13 B foot and have to fill lots of space with wading socks. Even still I bought a second pair.

I absolutely loved my blue Duckboots, sadly, to death. After about a year on the job at my work, it is time to replace the best pair of work shoes I 've EVER owned. And while they are still holding up great on the bottom, the tops are starting to get blown out. In fact, after spending nearly 60 hours a week in them for over a year the tread is amazingly intact with little evidence of regular wear. If they were still available in the dark blue I would be happily putting my feet into them again on Monday. I wear a 13 and ordered a 13 despite the recommendation to up size because i could n't find a 14. They fit fine for me. I wear them with the laces as loose as possible and put a knot outside the eyelet instead of tying them, and they feel very comfortable. I get compliments from women every time I wear them. They look even better than the photos, the grey as not so boring. These look sharp. The boot materials are premium, but the boa wire is not as heavy duty as I expected. It is a very thin and flexible, I hope it does not snap or fray over time. I bought men's size 13. They are roomy, even with neoprene footies and wool socks. But when submerged did pressurize a bit. This seemed to help with comfort especially on the toes. I can not get the boa as tight as I am accustomed to with traditional laces. First time out I felt myself being cautious because they are not as stable in that regard. I would n't say I am swimming in them but definitely a relaxed fit. I think it will just take some getting used to. I 'd be curious to see how a 12 would fit but did n't have the chance to try them on. All the recommendations were to size up from regular shoe. The way they drain water is no joke, made for very easy clean up and they seemed nearly dry by the time I got home. As far as the soles, traction seems up to par. The felt sole is thinner than some other brands. The rubber was nice for walking and one of the rivers I go to is mostly sand so perfect for that. They were not as easy to swap out as described, which i guess is good because they tried to address the problem of some folks losing their soles in the river. I had more trouble getting one of the orange tabs back in, it would not snap in properly. I had to use a screwdriver.

They ’ re tall, almost up to my knee, and fit snug around my leg( though not “ tight ”) so as not to have huge gaps where snow can get in. The Vibram Ice sole works — good traction on slippery surfaces. Note, however, these boots are not light, nor are they flexible like cheap boots — there ’ ll be no trips strolling in the mall with these. These are serious boots for serious cold.

I have no intention of using these boots for riding or cleaning stalls. I will use them for Winter Walk and forays in the forests and beaches shooting( photography) wildlife. I took them out for our first snowfall walk. They are comfortable and warn. It was 20 degrees and I wore only a dress weight alpaca sock. My feet were never cold. There was plenty room for me to wear a heavier weight sock. I did encounter some wet spots along the marsh and my feet were totally dry. I will note that these boots do not have lug soles, so they were slick walking up snow covered steep slopes. This is not a knock on these boots for me. I have Yaktrax Diamond grips and Kahtoola Micro Spikes- both fit over these beefier boot. I love the ease of slipping into with the optional pull tabs( which I didn ’ t need to use.). The last pair of “ rubber boots ” I owned were snug to pull on. The liner is great. I ’ m sure these will be what the doctor ordered for my Winter Adventures. I wear 10. 5 Wide typically. The 11 and Medium width were perfect.

The first thing you notice when you unbox your boots it the strong smell of real quality leather. I was immediately in the mood for a good Maduro cigar and a glass of my favorite Islay whisky. Following that, you peel back the paper and see the true color of these boots in your chosen color. I picked copper rough and tough. The photos do not truly demonstrate it's color but, there are some hints of the color in the photos. It has a richness and variation of color that is amazing in person. Since most stores do not stock these, it is a bit of a leap of faith but, it is well worth it. I had to size them down one half of a size. They do not come in a wide width at this time and I measure for a wide shoe but, already on the second day, they were loosened up enough that I have no trouble now. I would recommend wearing them around the house one day with two pairs of socks on. You 'll be surprised how quickly they break in if you do n't mind doing that for a day. Based on the described construction of the boot, when you receive the box, you may be surprised that it does n't weight several more pounds. It's not a very heavy boot even with the extra stitching and quality leather. Wearing it around the house and then later out on the street, it will continue to break in and loosen up. The break in is not bad at all. I would compare the break in to any other quality leather dress shoe that is American made. I felt an improvement in just a day and it will get better everyday for two weeks. The shape and style of the boot are clean and simple yet rugged. I believe this could easily sneak into a business casual realm if needed, especially on colder inclement days. The oil resistant soles have good traction on most surfaces so far. I have another pair of boots with deeper heavier tread for working around the house so, this pair probably wont see as much winter time work. They did get puked on by the kid last night and after that I walked through some mud right after getting out of the truck. It all seemed to wipe off and reminded me to invest in the protectant. I 'll be ordering that soon. If you buy cheap boots that are n't real leather, crack, fall apart or generally wear out every year or two, I would advise you to take a trip to the store, make the investment now and after you break in your new boots, you can decide for yourself.

Just received my Copper Blacksmiths today and after a quick application of oil, I 've been wearing them most of the afternoon and evening. Incredibly comfortable from the start( apart from being a little stiff) and the leather is a beautiful sight, changing colour and tone with each movement of the foot. As the other reviews seem to agree the laces seem a little short and I did n't go a size down as I 've pretty wide feet. This means they 're maybe a touch long but great on the width.

I had never bought a `` casual '' pair of boots before especially taken a leap of faith since they cost much more than I wanted to spend, but after about 2 years of wearing these for work/play/casual in all types of weather every other day, if not everyday, the comfort alone has been more than worth it. I have abused these boots and still receive compliments in whatever the setting. I find myself walking just a bit slower while wearing these because you feel an extra sense of confidence as the heavy( quality) sole hits the wood floor, concrete, gravel, dirt, and lawn.

I received my boots 6- weeks ago and have worn them a dozen times building mountain bike trails in Northern California. The boots are very comfortable, have great traction and warm in cool weather. What I like best about the boots is that I am sure footed when working on steep grades, in mud, and in thick bushes. Well first off these are Lightweight and at the end of the day you don ’ t feel like a horse shedding a saddle. They slip off and my feet feel great. I did put my arch supports in and these boots picked up where my other Georgia boots left off. The soles of the boots grip well on many surfaces and the tops have a nice feel and not too restrictive also. I ordered a half size bigger, since I wear wool soaks for added cushion on my feet. Now the only draw back is I wish they were a little narrower by a little. These feel like they are wide instead of a standard width. Again, my wool soaks help make up for some of the looseness but it is not a deal breaker by no means. Thus far for everyday work boots for someone who is on their feet a lot on concrete, these have done really well.

I have owned these boots for over 1- 1/2 years now with no issues. I oil them every quarter to help with the wear and tear and to keep them soft. I keep them on a boot dryer at night to keep them dry. I work in the Dairy industry and walk through manure and chemicals, it is a very wet environment. I have gone through Red Wings and other carhartt boots that only last 6- 8 months. In short, thee boots are worth every penny. Wish I could get a pair with more insulation though.

I bought these boots due to online reviews, and they were on sale, making it a double bonus. They have a thick inner liner that keeps your feet warm but are very snug! I would have gone with the next size up if I had known. Still breaking them in, so as far as durability, I will find out. My last pair, Sorel, held up for almost 30 years so I 'm hoping these will be my last snow boot purchase! So far they are decent. I would recommend they switch to quick lace hooks, rather than the eyelets.

I ’ ve been buying this exact boot for years. The wide toe box workers extremely well in landscaping where you up and down laying pavers or building a rock wall. Great boot, no break- in necessary. Just put them on and wore them all day. I 'm a hard fit but not these. Well constructed, great quality for the price point. Super strong material. I 'll buy them again if they ever were out, gon na be awhile though.

Playing in the mud
So far so good! They were a little uncomfortable at first but after a week there are comfy. I wish the tongue was attached a like higher up the boot so you can stand in deeper water but other than that they work flawlessly! I ’ m a well driller and good boys are hard to find that hold up to the constant mud and water every day. George boots hold up better than anything I ’ ve slipped my foot in!

I bought these boots over a year ago. So far they have been pretty good. I work as a full time diesel technician and occasionally have to do landscaping and construction work and these boots have held up pretty well to everything I do. The oil, diesel, break cleaner, etc have not hurt the leather nor the stitches at all. I will say I am disappointed in the insoles, being that they only lasted me about 4 months. I have had to replace the insoles quite often but mainly because I do weigh about 255 lbs and have a very wide foot. Also the hook eyelet on my left boot broke after about 6 months as well. The water proof feature has been great even for being a lace up boot. I ’ ve been I some fairly deep water( nearly covering up the entire boot) and haven ’ t had any water go into these boots or the leather. All in all these boots have been a strong and sturdy boot for what I need them for. I ’ d recommend them highly since I haven ’ t had much issues with them besides the two mentioned and have found them super comfortable
