My only complaint is that the actual color of the shorts dont match what is shown in the pictures. The gray ones for example look like a lighter gray but in person are very dark. I find this to be a common pattern with Nike ’s products. Maybe they use a filter on their photos and edit the lighting which in turn changes the color in the photos. These are great shorts. I mainly use them for running and functional training but they are so comfy i even wear them around the house casually. I love shorts that are a bit forgiving around the waist and dont feel like they are suffocating me. The Nike Stride shorts tend to make me feel that way. Also the liner is a great size on these shorts and actually fit, much wider than the stride shorts. I think if you ’ re built wider or maybe your a body builder type with more muscle, then these might be a better fit. I wear Medium in shorts and pants in general and I ordered a Medium in these.

Outstanding update. I ’ ve had multiple pairs of prior versions( incl the ones with the impossible side pockets). The fit and materials are A- 1 this time. The waistband is dynamite and the new side pockets definitely borrow from the Patagonia Striders( that ’s a good thing IMO) and work well. My only concern is the sizing in terms of whether you ’ re a small, medium or XL, whatever. I ’ m 5 ’ 9 ”, 150, 30 ” waist and I need the XS? The smalls last year in the old version were falling off my waist? I ’ m a small in every brand under the sun but need an XS in this short. It ’s odd. I worry if I need another pair that they ’ ll be out of XS like they were last year when I burned out an old pair. Fantastic short that I will buy more of, just not understanding sizing.

I love Brooks clothing! The material is incredibly light and very silky feeling. The waistband is important, and this one is great! The fit is also great. I only had one problem which was a deal breaker for me. There are no pockets, just 2 pouch like places on each side. I was not comfortable running with anything I was not comfortable losing in these pouches. I also like regular pockets if I wear these to run errands and such.

Nice simple shorts. Very versatile and the zipper pockets, which I feel are a must at this price point make for secure storage. Material seems similar in feel to the tech fleece line but for a cheaper price. The material is also cooler than tech fleece. I find these can be worn in temperatures above 80 degrees. Note the 7inch inseam, I ’ m am 6ft and the medium fit well but could feel a short compared to the regular tech fleece shorts

[ These nice 2- in- 1 shorts are great for runners who want a little extra coverage, like me. The wide waistband is comfortable and not too tight, while the ventilation holes just underneath add nice breathability. Be aware that the tights are quite thin, almost to the point of being sheer. I don ’ t mind that, and I think it will help when running in hotter temperatures. But we will see how the fabric holds up. My biggest complaint is the pocket size on the tights. It can barely hold my phone and only with a lot of effort. These probably won ’ t be my casual go- to shorts as a result. But for 2- in- 1 running shorts, these check the boxes I look for and I ’ d recommend them. I did size up and would suggest that for those in- between sizes or wanting a more relaxed fit.

They have a drawstring made of the outside shorts material. I picked `` slightly small '', and I am referring to the waist, not the legs or backside. I normally choose a Large, because I like the waist to be a tiny bit loose, but these are not loose in the waist at all. They are not too tight or uncomfortable for me, but if you are on the `` upper '' end of a size Large, then you might want to size up. The fabrics, both the inside and the outside, are very soft and nice- feeling. They feel thin without feeling `` cheap ''. These are good quality, I like them.

The two- in- one style is awesome because they feel freeing like a typical running short but offer more coverage and help prevent chaffing. I love the color fit and style, but I do wish the shorts underneath were slightly longer. With that said, sometimes with styles like this the shorts underneath ride up, and I can honestly say these stayed in place even on long runs so no true complaints! They are definitely stretchy( I am 7 months pregnant in the photo), but still feel really durable. Not like lululemon that starts to pill so easy. These are the best shorts out there right now IMO. I used to wear Nike Tempo for running, everyday wear, and sleeping. But I 've noticed that the brief part has gotten smaller with updates, and the elastic waistband irritates me. I 'm also in between sizes in Nike( XXL is too big, XL is uncomfortably small). These Brooks shorts solve all of those problems! I was impressed by the full- coverage briefs, comfy waistband, and perfect length with vents for mobility. I love these shorts! I got them specifically because of the pockets/storage capacity and design so that I can carry gels and my phone during races. I have used them for multiple long rungs already, carrying 3- 4 gels distributed between the side pockets, and my phone in the back zipper pocket. I do notice my phone bouncing a little bit during the first few minutes, but then after that it does n't bother me at all( I 'm just happy to have a pocket that my phone can fit in instead of having to use a belt on every run). The wide waistband is a little different, but I find it comfortable. The wider waistband sits up a little higher on my hips than some of my other shorts. Overall, these shorts are super comfy and excellent for carrying nutrition products on longer runs.

I 've gone through many different shorts, and these are by far my favorite. This is because they have streamlined but usable side pockets for GU( or whatever) and a back zipped pocket where you could securely keep a phone or keys, etc. Of course, the fit and performance are perfect( for me at least).

I have been very pleased with these shorts so far. It's surprisingly hard to find running shorts with decent pockets for modern smartphones, but the rear zip pocket on these fits my iPhone 12 perfectly and holds it with minimal bounce. There are also open mesh pockets on either side to hold gels or other small items, making these great for long runs without the need for any additional storage belt, etc. The smooth waistband is very comfortable, as is the liner, which is supportive but still light and breathable enough for warm weather running. They run true to size-- I am 5' 7 '', 160 lbs, 32 '' waist, and the size M is perfect. Although they are great as they are, just a couple of suggestions for future versions:( 1) put the drawstring on the outside so that the inside of the waistband is totally smooth, and( 2) put a zipper on at least one of the side pockets( in addition to the phone pocket) so that cash/credit card/keys/etc. can be carried more securely.
