You can wear in in the 50 ’s unzipped without getting too hot, and I ’ ve worn it in mid 30 ’s drizzle comfortably. Any cooler than 30 degrees and you ’ d probably want to throw on a fleece underneath. The Sherpa is a very nice touch, and I love the hood. This coat is more comfortable than my previous coat, time will tell if it also lasts me 20 years.

[ Very happy with this jacket after four days of skiing in variable conditions. Here are the key attributes: 1. Warmth- it's pretty warm; not the warmest imaginable jacket but I can easily get away with a thin base layer in 30 degree conditions. When the temp plummeted to zero I wore a couple heavier base layers and was still comfortable. I love the ample coverage over your chin and mouth, which provides great wind protection on top of your balaclava. 2. Coverage- Jacket does a great job sealing in the elements with hardy and easy- to- use velcro straps at the wrists, a powder skirt, and a functional hood that fits around a size L helmet without constraining my neck. 3. Pockets galore! And they are big. Only a couple slight issues:- water- proof zippers were a bit hard to open or close the first time I wore the jacket, which was zero- degree weather. I did n't notice the issue later on when the weather warmed up.- the cuffs do n't mesh too well with my gauntlet- style mitts, especially if I 'm layered up a lot underneath. Basically both the jacket and mitts seems to want to be on the outside.

This coat is everything from the well- designed color- blocking to the gender neutral olive colorway to the tonal grid pattern to the zippers to the elastic cuffs( so much easier for ski gloves than the traditional velcro) to the extreme warmth. I prefer an oversized fit so while I 'm 5 ft. I bought the L. Would 've loved a slightly longer style option but other than that, no notes. It's perfection.

[ This jacket is warm but not super puffy which I like. The length is perfect for keeping your butt warm but not long enough to limit your stride. The extended cuffs with thumb holes keep cold air out. Pockets are nice and deep with zippers. I will say that the XS is much more flattering, but my arms feel restricted when moving around, and the Small feels much better, but looks loose. I still went with the Small.

I bought this jacket before a 5 day backbacking trip in the mountains during late August because of warmth, weight, and compressibility. It was plenty warm enough for cool evenings and at high elevations. But the best feature of this jacket is the hood. The hood fits so well around your face and neck. This has become my favourite layer under my shell for cold winter hikes when its- 20 and the wind is blowing.

I ’ ve had this coat for a few weeks now and I love it. It ’s dreamily warm, looks fantastic and the pack down feature it really going to be great for travel. It has even performed perfectly on walks in temperatures well below freezing. I ’ m just over 5 ’ 6 ” and 150 lbs, athletic build and medium works well. It was slightly larger than what I thought it would be, as I am hoping to use it under a waterproof layer soon, but the small would likely have been too small. Hard to find a `` long '' puffer coat that does n't hit me below the knees. Being 4'11 '', I like it to be long, but not below the knees and this one is perfect! Somehow, above the knees makes me look a little taller. lol Also found it in white at my local Dick's which is even better yet! Only negative, is the price. Wish I could 've got it on sale, but could n't take the chance of it being sold out. That's what happened last year. Not cold enough to wear it yet, but this coat is the only reason why I 'm kinda looking forward to cold weather!

[ Employee of columbia] I bought the XXL for my 5 ’ 8 235 pound husband and it ’s pretty roomy. The sleeves are just right on him( sometimes those XXL coats have super long arms). The color “ Amber ” is more of a nice Autumnal rust color than orange. It looks really nice with the black accents. The chest pocket is super roomy and easy to access. Sure is warm. First test initially I was skeptical and put on the jacket thinking it ’s roomy and easy to wear. It took about 3 minutes to begin to feel the warm sinking in to me. Fit: I am 5'11 and 190 pounds, wear XL for shirts and sweaters, but L for these types of jackets and the L fit me well in this one. Warmth: I have used it in up to- 10C and it has kept me warm at that temp with only a t- shirt below. Might be too warm for anything above 0C- 5C for me. If it can keep me warm up to- 20C with a thin layer underneath it will have good range. Style: looks very good. Amber is a bit darker than I expected, which is welcomed in my case. Does not look orange at all. Weight/design: it is very lightweight, and does not look puffy. Would have appreciated one or two pockets on the inside. Easy to move around in, so will be good for winter activities. Overall, highly recommend this if you are looking for a jacket to put between the times you need a full winter parka and your spring jacket, this will hold a good place in that spot as it does seem to be quite versatile temp wise. I get a feeling it will also reduce my use of the full winter parka by a bit.

[ I bought this in Nov 2020 because I was looking for a lightweight winter jacket that I can wear as my primary jacket. I was worried it would n't be warm enough because it's not down but I can say that for non- active use, you could probably be comfortable in it down to 32 F or so. If you 're outdoors for extended periods of time( e. g. Standing outside for the bus/train, long walks), you might want something a little warmer. But for typical Philly/NYC winters, I think this is great. I also have a Fjallraven parka for when it's colder. If you 're being somewhat active, you could wear this comfortably in even colder temps. It does a good job of insulating the heat you generate from biking, jogging, brisk walking, etc. The fit is perfect for me! I have a long torso for someone my height( 5' 8 '') but it's nice and long, so I 'd guess that if you 're tall and skinny, this jacket would be great. For short torso people, it might feel long. The jacket looks great and feels like a great quality product. I hope to wear it for many years!
