The poly insulation is just thick enough without being bulky, and plenty warm. I run hot, so this is great for me. I live in a wet climate, so water resistance is important. When I received this, the first test was to run water over my sleeve in the sink. The water ran right off. Recently had a scrap with a rose branch and the tough shoulder material was unaffected. [ Bought this in size XXS for my petite( 40 in tall, 31 lbs, size 3T bottoms) 4- yr- old to grow into. It ’s very long and baggy on her for now, which isn ’ t terrible. I like that it has the Omni- heat foil on the inside, which was the main reason I bought it as it can get as low as 9 degrees where I live. I wasn ’ t aware of the “ Outgrown ” thing and was pleasantly surprised to learn about it as I was checking out the jacket. That seems super useful and since I bought this to be grown- into, the extending cuffs add some extra life to the jacket. It ’s still summer right now, so I can ’ t comment on how toasty it keeps my toddler just yet, but it ’s pretty thick and I ’ m guessing this will be amazing for the next 2- 3 years.

This coat is everything from the well- designed color- blocking to the gender neutral olive colorway to the tonal grid pattern to the zippers to the elastic cuffs( so much easier for ski gloves than the traditional velcro) to the extreme warmth. I prefer an oversized fit so while I 'm 5 ft. I bought the L. Would 've loved a slightly longer style option but other than that, no notes. It's perfection.

Hard to find a `` long '' puffer coat that does n't hit me below the knees. Being 4'11 '', I like it to be long, but not below the knees and this one is perfect! [ This is a great hunting jacket. I wanted an tough outside lawyer to withstand the thicket, block wind and rain, and allow me to wear layers. This is perfect for that purpose. Also, I 've read a few reviews about how some do not like how the zipper goes up too high, but that really is n't a problem. In fact, I 'm heavy wind or extremely cold weather, I see it as a plus because you can close up more, but if it is uncomfortable just do n't zip all the way way up( common sense).

[ I purchased the prior version of this jacket in Real Tree Hardwoods in 2016 and used it to harvest my first turkey. That jacket lasted 7 hunting seasons( spring and fall) and is still usable but the camo is fading so I bought this jacket as a replacement. I used it the first time for deer this fall. This jacket appears just as durable as my 2016 jacket, but appears to also have water resistance features as an added bonus. With a wool base layer and long sleeve T underneath, the jacket should be ok for a long sit down to 45 degrees. For colder weather, just add a down vest. This is probably a roomy medium. I 'm a true medium( 5'10 '', 160lbs) and the medium in this jacket gives you room to layer, but it's not so big as to let wind come up the waist elastic. I own quite a bit of hunting clothes from some big name competitors, but Carhartt has always been my favorite go- to. My only suggestion for improvement is for Carhartt to expand the line. Make Yukon Extremes in hunting pattern! Expand the types of camo patterns. Build it and they will come.

[ I bought this in Nov 2020 because I was looking for a lightweight winter jacket that I can wear as my primary jacket. I was worried it would n't be warm enough because it's not down but I can say that for non- active use, you could probably be comfortable in it down to 32 F or so. If you 're outdoors for extended periods of time( e. g. Standing outside for the bus/train, long walks), you might want something a little warmer. But for typical Philly/NYC winters, I think this is great. I also have a Fjallraven parka for when it's colder. If you 're being somewhat active, you could wear this comfortably in even colder temps. It does a good job of insulating the heat you generate from biking, jogging, brisk walking, etc. The fit is perfect for me! I have a long torso for someone my height( 5' 8 '') but it's nice and long, so I 'd guess that if you 're tall and skinny, this jacket would be great. For short torso people, it might feel long. The jacket looks great and feels like a great quality product. I hope to wear it for many years!
