I use these lures in various sizes to troll for striped bass in the Chesapeake and they work very well. I use them in different sizes depending on the depth of the water, but the swimming action and rattle make are great for enticing fish to bite. They also have a good erratic action when cast and twitched on a slack line, which causes reaction strikes.

I bought this specific color( pilchard) to mimic the greenies and they worked great. I was fishing for Spanish mackerel at Sebastian Inlet and casting next to people using Gotcha lures, silver spoons, and jigs and I was easily outfishing them. I was casting into the breeze and was still getting a decent distance thanks to the casting weights inside the X- Rap. I would recommend the X- Rap for anyone fishing for Spanish mackerel. In my experience, it also catches plenty of bluefish, but I would recommend changing the hooks out to 4X hooks. The hooks that come with the lure tends to bend too easily from the violent head shaking bluefish tend to do.

The hammered chrome seems to have a slight edge over the plain chrome in my estimation. You may have to get the 1 oz on Ebay vintage listing as I do n't think you will fine it listed. First time using the TerrorEyz and immediately got strikes on first few casts. I was fishing the edge of a flat where there was some depth change and the TerrorEyz got hit repeatedly and eventually I hooked a small barracuda who broke my line as I brought him near my kayak. I recently used these in the tampa bay. The results were very good when nothing else was working, including live. They advertised as durable and that part is simply not true. These baits are very tender and do not last for more than a strike or two. Ill buy them again but rather expensive for being no tougher than they are.

I like Gulp because they are always in my box and I do n't waste an hour getting live bait. When fish are biting they are actually better than live shrimp because they stay on the hook longer and are not bitten off. You can also cast them further without them flying off like live shrimp often do. But honistly they are not quite as good as live shrimp when the bite is off, when the fishing is slow. But all in all I love these things and use them more often than live shrimp because they work most of the time and sometimes even better than live bait.

So far I have caught numerous trout, grey snapper and black sea bass. Looking forward to see what else I can pull up.
