You can wear in in the 50 ’s unzipped without getting too hot, and I ’ ve worn it in mid 30 ’s drizzle comfortably. Any cooler than 30 degrees and you ’ d probably want to throw on a fleece underneath. The Sherpa is a very nice touch, and I love the hood. I tried both this jacket as well as the summit series ski jacket and did n't recognize any very significant differences. That is to the credit of the Ceptor( and a little to the detriment of the Summit series); so far it seems like a great jacket. I 've worn it on a few early season days in the Sierras and it's been a capable replace for my 2012 summit series jacket. The sleeves allow plenty of freedom of movement. The powder skirt is adjustable enough that it fits well without being noticeable. The zippers work pretty well and are easy enough to grab with gloves on. The bright green color is super visible with makes it easy for kids and family to find me on the runs.

When I received this, the first test was to run water over my sleeve in the sink. The water ran right off. Recently had a scrap with a rose branch and the tough shoulder material was unaffected. [ Very happy with this jacket after four days of skiing in variable conditions. Here are the key attributes: 1. Warmth- it's pretty warm; not the warmest imaginable jacket but I can easily get away with a thin base layer in 30 degree conditions. When the temp plummeted to zero I wore a couple heavier base layers and was still comfortable. I love the ample coverage over your chin and mouth, which provides great wind protection on top of your balaclava. 2. Coverage- Jacket does a great job sealing in the elements with hardy and easy- to- use velcro straps at the wrists, a powder skirt, and a functional hood that fits around a size L helmet without constraining my neck. 3. Pockets galore! And they are big. Only a couple slight issues:- water- proof zippers were a bit hard to open or close the first time I wore the jacket, which was zero- degree weather. I did n't notice the issue later on when the weather warmed up.- the cuffs do n't mesh too well with my gauntlet- style mitts, especially if I 'm layered up a lot underneath. Basically both the jacket and mitts seems to want to be on the outside.

Ive bought a lot of jackets from the top brands over the years, but nothing matches Fjallraven for build quality and timelessness. After buying this I sold all my Rab, Montane, North Face etc jackets- this is better all round, warmer in the cold( totally wind resistant), more resistant to water, more breathable, tougher, it looks fantastic( always getting asked about it) and will probably last 20 years. It fits perfectly- though go a size down. Pockets are excellent esp the inside pocket, insulated hood works beautifully and still has room for a beanie if its really cold- only thing to note is there is no drawstring waist- presumably because of the down- but it doesnt impact anything. I ordered both this jacket and the re- wool jacket. Both seem like nice, warm options for Wisconsin winters. I 'm 5'11 '' tall, 185 pounds. I 'm torso- tall, a bit of a rounded belly, with average shoulder width. This down jacket was ordered in size large, which is a bit too snug on me. The re- wool was purchased in size XL, which is perfect. Planning to return this down jacket and wait to see if the re- wool gets me through the winter. If I feel like I need a better water- resistant jacket, then I 'll consider buying this down coat in size XL. Again, seems like a great coat, solid quality, a nice hood, good sleeve length.

This was my first down jacket from Fjällräven and it was fantastic with a sweater underneath it and kept you warm in 20°F weather's to 10°F weather's in New York City. I 've used it on a hike before when it was snowing outside and the weather was around 10°, it kept me warm throughout the whole hike and never made me sweat at all because of the great insulation and circulation of rounding out where the warmth would be needed for my body. [ I bought this in Nov 2020 because I was looking for a lightweight winter jacket that I can wear as my primary jacket. I was worried it would n't be warm enough because it's not down but I can say that for non- active use, you could probably be comfortable in it down to 32 F or so. If you 're outdoors for extended periods of time( e. g. Standing outside for the bus/train, long walks), you might want something a little warmer. But for typical Philly/NYC winters, I think this is great. I also have a Fjallraven parka for when it's colder. If you 're being somewhat active, you could wear this comfortably in even colder temps. It does a good job of insulating the heat you generate from biking, jogging, brisk walking, etc. The fit is perfect for me! I have a long torso for someone my height( 5' 8 '') but it's nice and long, so I 'd guess that if you 're tall and skinny, this jacket would be great. For short torso people, it might feel long. The jacket looks great and feels like a great quality product. I hope to wear it for many years!

The temperatures at first light on the water were in the mid 30's and this jacket kept my core warm and cozy! I 'm 5 '' 10 160 pounds and the medium was a perfect fit. I ’ m not sure why anyone gets cold in this jacket. I use this as my outer layer when I ski. All I need underneath is a tshirt and and an old sweatshirt and I ’ m perfect in 0°- 30°F weather. The temperature in Colorado has been hovering around 0°F the last few days, so on short excursions around, I stay plenty warm. Walking around campus this jacket is light and super comfortable. It allows me to not have to layer up much as it takes on the cold itself. I have 5 days of skiing on the jacket in weather from sunny/warm to heavy snow. The fabric breathability is perfect for sidecountry/in- bounds skiing, but a touch heavy if you 're looking for a backcountry jacket. Great windproofing while still breathing. I am 5'11, 165lbs, with broad shoulders. I bought the medium and it can be worn with a puffy underneath comfortably. Not baggy, but still free range of movement. A touch more room on the shoulders would have suited me a bit better. There are a ton of useful pockets, no shortage. Zippers are easy to access, pit zips are a bit cumbersome however. Velcro on the cuffs is easy to adjust with different gloves.

I have the 12v system for all day riding on my Goldwing. I use this for days when I am off and on the bike a lot because I do n't have to worry about extra wires. Also great for motorcycles that do n't have a large enough electrical system plus other non- riding adventures. Typically using the lower power modes I all day warmth. I have an extra battery that I also carry and rarely need to use it. Wear it as a thermal layer under a coat for max protection and warmth. At times I will even wear it around the house instead of turning up the thermostat. I have the fleece vest version too.

This is my second Gerbing Fleece product. My first was a 7V fleece heated sweater/jacket from Cabela's( made by Gerbing) which is still working great after 4 years. My new Gerbing Gyde Zenith Fleece Heated Jacket? Outstanding! This one has 4 heat levels instead of three and a larger capacity battery which is a welcome improvement. This heated jacket fits well, is well made and while I tried the highest heat setting just for fun, I doubt I will need to use high very often. This thing puts out some serious heat. For all day outdoor adventures, I would recommend buying a couple of extra batteries. I did. I would n't hesitate recommending this to anybody.

It arrived earlier than expected and was exactly what I ordered. The size was perfect because of the easy to use size chart they supplied on “ The gerbing ” site. The heated jacket is great! We started it on the high setting until it got warm then we were able to lower the temperature using the battery to maintain and comfort level without getting too hot of too cold. Great product! Amazing interaction with staff. The whole process was a joy and look forward to doing business with them again.
