The hood is a good size and has a brim, which I really like. I can typically wear a size small but like to get rain jackets in medium so that I can layer under. I 've been watching a number of reviews prior to purchasing this rain jacket, and finally pulled the trigger when I had an opportunity to try it on in store. The mustard colour is great in person, but what I 'm really impressed with is the build quality. All of the reviews talk highly of how well constructed this jacket is, and I ca n't disagree. What I was n't expecting was how the slight stretch in the jacket would clearly separate it from other similar rain jackets from other brands. It makes it a very comfortable rain jacket. My only knock? Sizing is really confusing and I 'm glad I was able to try it on in store. Based on the size guide, I would have purchased an XXL online. I have a 46 '' chest( 6' 4 '' and around 225 lbs). My Abisko trail fleeces are XXL. My Abisko Midsummer jacket is an XL. I bought a L. This is n't without precedent: I have a Greenland jacket in a L, and it fits fine. You might say `` you 'll never be able to layer with it! '' Well... I went looking for a thick fleece in store and had it under the jacket and it fit fine. So yeah- this jacket fits large. I think I would have been fine with an XL, but I like the slightly slimmer fit of the L.

I love how this jacket combo is all I really need for winter in New England and how it can be used for the majority of the year. It ’s of very soft, light weight material. The color is as beautifully pictured online. I find the flap over the pockets a bit inconviniencing but I think that ’s helpful to deter pickpocketing. As the material is soft& light weight, when I place my iphone 11 in it, you can see the weight of the phone pulling that side of the jacket down. I ’ ve used it in light rain already. I bought this with the intention of it being my main backcountry ski jacket, and not for rain so I ca n't comment on how well it is waterproof. But personally, it is somewhat of a heavy jacket for rainy warm weather. I loved it today in zero temps with a thin fleece hoody and wool shirt on underneath. I was a little concerned about how the stiff, tall collar would feel on my face, but it was great coverage and roomy enough so my neck gator fit underneath it just fine. I sized up in this jacket because I need to layer and went with XL which meant it was fairly long and covered my bum, but still surprisingly close fitting around the hips which is common for me in OR tops. It is a great weight for cold backcountry ski days, lighter than my older OR Skytour shell but heavier than the Motive. I am posting a photo. Love the color too. In the photo I also have on the insulated Snowcrew ski pants which were toasty on this bitter cold day!

used this at work during- 30°f temps with layers and kept me plenty warm. the thicker material on the shoulders protected the jacked from a heavy weighted survey vest and the jacket has held up very well for extended periods outside in the woods, may be a bit warm for vigorous activity but perfect for normal use in cold temps.

[ Love the color and pocket lay out. All your mountain carriers will fit in this jacket without knowing they are there. The hyrdostash is what sold me on this style and it ’s amazing. The jacket is a little big but I think that was my doing. I didn ’ t measure but usually get an xl as I like my clothes room to move in. I went with the xl. I ’ m 6 ’ 2 and 200lbs. Very warm as well. My old jacket is have to undo the thumb hooks every time I went to bind my boots in. This jacket I ’ ll have no problem.

Good jacket for great price. My son was skiing and got lost on mountain for 2 hours in white out conditions. The amazing jacket protected him from hypothermia and he was rescued. Without this jacket, it would 've been bad.

Used skiing- liked the amount of pockets and the arm ski pass pocket. Good amount of insulation and nice fit too. Not too baggy and the orange was bright. Less expensive than some of the other brands and quality is not sacrificed.

[ I have had this jacket for about a month and love it. I needed a lightweight, breathable, and most importantly, waterproof, jacket for when I walk my two dogs and this is it. The hood is extremely adjustable for windy days so i do not need to worry about it blowing off my head and i like how the upper parts of the jacket rest on your shoulder

[ I set out looking for the BEST rain jacket out available and finally arrived at thIs OR jacket after much research! I went to the OR store first to ensure sizing was correct. I ’ m 5- 10, 180lb male and I find the Large to fit great. It ’s not baggy but it still gives me room to layer other jackets or hoodie under if I need to. Also works great as a single shell over a tee shirt on mild fall days in PNW. I ’ ll have this for many years to come!

[ I normally want a slighter looser fit and this one was more true to size than I ’ m used to in a shell. But the construction and quality are both very good. And I like the hood and side zips. Haven ’ t had a chance to test in a downpour yet but I expect it do great.
