I ’ m surprised there are bad reviews. I had the 4s and I actually like these more. Since the reviews said to size up, I got both my normal size( 7 1/2) and 8. The 7 1/2 fits so much better! I walked around my house in the 8s and they loose around my ankle—My foot was lifting out of the shoe a tiny bit. There ’s a little more compression than the 4s, but I actually really like that for running on grass. So I recommend keeping your normal size unless you have a wide foot. I don ’ t consider my foot narrow, I think it ’s pretty normal.

I was on the fence of buying trail shoes or hiking boots for my Yellowstone and Grand Tetons trip. I am so glad I chose the Cascadia. We hiked 50 miles of trails. Bunsen peak, Mt Washburn( 95% snow on trail), Signal Mtn, Cascade Canyon, and a few others. Someone wrote that the Hikelite is lacking a handle loop. IDK, mine has one. As I do with all my backpacks, I put a large S- biner on it, so I can hang it, it even hooks over 40 cm thick stall doors so I do n't have to set my pack down. I also riveted thick vinyl sheeting on bottom so that it can be set down on icky bathrooms or muddy ground..... Osprey take note! Bottom of packs should have waterproof vinyl sheet!

I have arthritis on the posterior( backside) of my right ankle. This arthritis makes it very painful for me to walk on a downhill slope because it puts more pressure on the posterior aspect of the ankle joint. I can walk uphill no problem. Shoes that have a half inch heel hurt me as well because they caused my heel to be lifted compared to my front foot. In essence it ’s causing me to put more pressure on the post to your side of my ankle joint. I was looking for shoes that had no extra heel lift yet still had good arch support and I tried several brands and then I came across these Meryll shoes which had no heel lift in the heel. I was able to walk quite comfortably with good art support. And the grip from the tread on the bottom of the shoe is amazing. My first pair lasted me about two years and I just ordered and received my second pair. I ’ m very pleased with them. My orthopedic surgeon tells me that I ’ ll soon have total ankle replacement surgery. Then I maybe can get back into regular shoes. But these Merrills are really comfortable. I may stay with them. I love them and if you have problems walking in shoes with a little bit of a heel these will really help

They are firm and stable like my hiking boots, but cute enough that I can wear them as normal sneakers if I need to. I love the versatility. I do wish I sized up though. I usually size up a half size with hiking boots since I wear wool socks with those. I did n't think to do that with these so I have to wear thin socks which is n't my favorite while hiking. I love the look and color. The sole has great traction for the trail. Unfortunately, I can feel the hard bumps from the sole poking the bottom of my right foot near the edge of the upper part of the shoe near my toes. It is less obvious if I wear thicker socks. These shoes are best for the trails only, aa designed. The sole is too hard for regular wear. I was looking for a pair that I can wear everywhere when in vacation as well as hiking. These shoes are not heavy and have some cushion unlike Oboz, which is lighter than KEEN. If I was to start hiking more, I would get these. For now, I 'll stick to my Clifton and newly acquired Bondi.

I try to use all of my backpacks as dual purpose. 1st is hiking and second is work/office backpack. This pack did amazing at both. I enjoyed the deep front valuables pocket for AirPods, chap stick, keys, knife etc. the main compartment has a number of different pockets that holds a number of things for hiking as well as running to the office. My biggest complement is the water bottle pockets I like to carry two hydro flasks one for water and the other for coffee. This is the first pack I have had that I can use both pockets at the same time. The front cinch pocket was great for my rain coat and other layers. Fantastic pack would highly recommend.

I 'm about 5 runs into this shoe at about 3 mi each run. I was looking for my usual GT- 2000 trail but, seems even Asics site does not have them so I took a chance on these. I 'm glad I did. They are very comfortable and have good traction on pavement and along the prairie path tiny gravel. I have worn a size 9 in GT- 1000, GT- 2000, and Gel Venture. My usual size fit perfectly with these. Did not have to upsize. Hope this helps.

Nice trekking poles, particularly for the price. The cork grips are comfortable. I really appreciate that there foam grips below the cork- I do n't need to adjust the pole length if there are quick inclines/declines. Instead, I can just change the position of my hand. Highly recommend.

I 'm very happy with this purchase. The only recommendation for improvement I can make is that the cork handles come unsealed. Since these are going to be used heavily in a wide range of weather conditions, from the hot Arizona sun, Monsoon rains, and even snow, I felt it essential to seal the cork to ensure the handles hold up to the use I plan on giving them. I recommend UV- 40 cork seal. I have used it on fly rod handles I have made and it works perfectly, and lasts many, many years. Make sure to follow the application instructions on the bottle. Apply one good coat using a bristle brush. Make sure you do n't have any drips, runs or sags. Do not apply a second coat, as it will not penetrate.
