I have had them in the snow and slush many times and they have good traction. The sole washes off easily too in case you do n't want the salt to stay. They are quite comfortable and true to size. The lighter gray/brown part of the shoe is suede texture and the forest green part has a grid texture that feels like it might be water resistant. The overall feel of the shoe is comfortable but they are wide. I am normally a 9- 9. 5, I got a size 9 and they are still a bit big for my feet, mostly width wise. The tongue also has a lot of padding, which is nice. Overall a great sturdy shoe that can be used for multiple occasions!

I purchased these boots a year ago, the affordable price and the comfortable looks made me want to give them a try. I wore them for a year at a job where I did n't have to stand all day, and recently switched to a job where standing for 12 hours was part of the job. I have fairly narrow feet and these fit perfectly and are very comfortable. You ca n't even tell they have a steel toe. My only complaint is the top lace grommet. It has a different type of hook so it is a little difficult to get the lace in it when it is pulled out. I still rate this as Excellent though.

I 've seen enough people buy shoes that I 've learned one thing tends to be true most often. No one knows what their actual shoe size is, and because of this it is very hard to get a real answer of how things actually fit. I was very surprised when I read that I should get a smaller size than normal as often times people already do get smaller sizes than they should. I typically go between a 9. 5 and 10D depending on the shoe, reading the reviews I decided I 'd do 9. 5 as that was probably what people meant by getting a smaller size. I was wrong, this shoe felt big and I thought maybe I was just being overly critical because a 9D would n't make any sense. I kept the 9. 5D and wish I had n't, luckily I know some tricks to get the shoe to fit better but my shins and knees ached after wearing these shoes for long periods of times. I love the look and when I snugged the shoes up they 're actually very comfortable, do yourself a favor and start half a size smaller than your normal smaller variance.

I have a couple pairs of the classic moc Red Wing shoes( 30yr old Irish Setter 8in, and a 6in Heritage) and with a very high arch I have always preferred the moc construction in shoes. I bought these and added the highest arch orthotics Red Wing makes, and bought a pair of the same orthotics for my 6in moc 's. I walk 4- 8 miles a day, a mixture of pavement and trail, always in one pair of Red Wing 's during cool and cold weather. I got the Weekender as my everyday shoe, figuring I 'd still use the 2 moc 's for walking and hiking. But it 's so comfortable it 's the shoe that I wear 90% of the time( in cool and cold weather). In fact, it 's so comfortable I often leave them on in the house, when normally all my life my shoes come off as soon as I 'm in the door. The only drawbacks so far are that because the sole is softer than the classic moc shoes it 's wearing pretty fast. I get ca. 2 yrs out of the sole on my 6in moc, the Weekender may not make a year( ca. 1500 miles). I worry a bit about the leather eyelets lifetime instead of the metal grommets in the classic mocs. But for a shoe this comfortable I 'll be happy to replace the whole shoe every 4 or 5 years.

I bought factory 2nds from a buddy and I could n't tell you the difference between those and the 1st. A little cleaning and conditioning and it looked brand spanking new. I got these in a 7D. For some odd reason, they fit very similar to my pair of Beckmans which are a 7. 5D. Both are a touch loose at the toes. Maybe I 'm a 6. 5 in Redwings. No problem though, I threw in a pair of insoles for my Iron Rangers and they fit like a glove now. If you have a store near you, I highly suggest going in person to get sized. The leather is of fantastic quality. Great overall look and feel. I highly recommend this iconic boot! My next purchase are the Roughnecks.

Im giving the quality of these shoes a 5star⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️review for what they ’ re designed for. But i had to return them cause the cosmetic quality was a factory seconds. One of the shoes had a misprint of the “ HOKA ” logo on it. Also they seamed to be “ used ” and not just “ tried on ” …. That ’s ridiculous considering they are$ 240 shoes. After I returned them I ordered another pair as an exchange and believe it or not I was sent the EXACT same shoes back to me. So before I sent them back for a second time I ordered a 3rd pair and made sure they were shipped before I returned the “ factory 2nds ” back to a local Dick ’s Store to insure they wouldn ’ t send these back to me AGAIN😉. Once I received the final pair I used them for what they are intended for and they are simply perfect. The best I ’ ve ever had. I don ’ t want to even take them off.
