This specific coat has been used by contestants in the Iditarod Dog Sled Race in Alaska, so I figured it it could keep them warm in- 20 to- 50 F degree weather, it would work for my mom. The coat has a bunch of pockets and storage, waterproof and thick material that doesn ’ t rip easily like with down coats. It ’s durable and will last a long, long time. I like how there is an adjustable strap at the waist so that you can cinch it to fit your figure better and it won ’ t let air escape through the coat. It ’s fashionable and functional. Bought the parka for my wife and she was thrilled! She is hard to please, but this did the trick. The parka is long enough to cover her hips( she has SI joint pain, so keeping them warm is critical) and was super comfy. The parka was perfect for taking the dogs out for their walk in the winter. It may be a bit much for more strenuous activities given the volume.

I researched different brands of insulated parka coats for men and came to the conclusion the North Face Nuptse Parka is supreme. I love how immediately effective it is in blocking all of the frigid cold even with less layering underneath. Bought the coat for my 10 year old nephew for the coldest days in Alberta, size L( he is 147cm). I like how warm it is, however the fit is strange. If the sleeves length is ok, then the coat is too long, more like parka not a jacket. If you go with smaller size then the length is ok but the sleeves are too short and not much room for movement( even though my nephew is slim). We tried M and L and took the bigger one. I love goose down and it is the warmest coat from my experience( I am always cold in Alberta). Please make it in bright colours or at least with light reflecting elements. Children should be visible from a long distance for a safety reason. Overall a good warm parka.

Impressive 3- 1 after wearing out my North Face 3- 1 system I have wore for years. Bought this to replace it and I am happy with what my research settled upon. Love the zip out silk liner as a stand alone lite duty jacket, a nd the shell works excellent as a rain cover. This is a great system for a beginner or an expert in the field or out on the town. Size runs true and is a little longer than expected but I did not mind the extra length to cover my hind end.

I bought is jacket to replace my old Gore- Tex Foray that started to delaminate after 7 years of use. Lets see how well this AscentShell Dry hold up over the years. So far this is a great 3- in- 1 jacket but I 'm really disappointed that it lacks the TorsoFlo Venting all the other Foray versions have. TorsoFlo Venting, or at least some basic armpit vents, really makes a difference when you need to vent some heat build up or want to use the shell as a rain jacket year round. I like that it comes as a 3- in- 1. This is easier to put on and take off than the Foray and Shadow combo this jacket is replacing. Being able to combine the shell and insulation layer when it gets cold is much more convenient than dealing with 2 separate jackets. I like that it is longer than the other Foray versions The longer Parka style provides better rain and snow protection than the shorter Jacket style. The over all look and color make this great to wear in any setting like work, camping, shopping, or anywhere else. I really like the Ranger Green color over the Hops Green of my Foray that this is replacing. I hope they make a version 2 with TorsoFlo Venting and a stuff sack for the insulation layer.

The length, shoulder length, and arm length were perfect, but the middle was super loose. I love the quality and the pockets, but I definitely need to return it for a medium. Hence this second review, following up to share the wonderful customer care I have received after notifying the company of my dissatisfaction with the insulation factor in this jacket. Please be advised that this parka is not suitable for extremely cold conditions on its own. As the company explains, and of which I was completely unaware, this parka needs a lighter jacket under- layer in cold climates. It it roomy enough to comfortably accommodate under layers, which does indeed create a much warmer experience in extreme temperatures; a common occurrence where I live. We routinely experience temperatures well below zero.

WOW crazy comfortable. Keeps you very warm in the teens/single digit weather( have n't tried it in anything lower). I love how long it is to cover most of my legs as well. I 'm 5' 3 '' and it hits around my mid calf. MAKE SURE TO SIZE 2 SIZES DOWN. My husband is an XL and the M fits him perfectly. I 'm a M and the XS fits me perfectly. In case this is helpful for anyone, the pit- to- pit measurement of the XS is 22 '', and the pit- to- pit measurement on the M is 25 ''!

Purchased this coat in white last year and absolutely LOVE it! The hood is very large( my favorite part about this coat), but stays out of your face. Jacket is warm, but not too warm( like a down coat would be). It's sporty and I get a ton of compliments on it every time I wear it. I am 5' 10 '', 140 lbs, and got an XL, and it fits well! Also, it washes easily and looks great even after a year of a ton of wear.

[ Very comfortable, looks great and warm enough. This has been great for the first part of our winter, though no subzero temps yet. With layers, I believe it ’ ll be all I need to get through the winter. Love the length, hood, many pockets and velcro on sleeves. Zipper can be a little fussy to get started.

I do n't think it's worth the full price( the brand name I 'm sure factors into the higher price point), but so far I 've worn it over and over again. This pack- down hoodie meets all the requirements. Firstly, the craftsmanship is impeccable. I am 5 ’ 6 ” athletic- built and wear a large size, and I can confirm that it is true to size. I appreciate its packability and versatility, as it can be worn with a base layer or a shell on top, enabling it to withstand temperatures as low as the single digits. I ordered the flame orange/uni blue color, which is visually appealing and would be a worthwhile purchase before it sells out. Upon receiving the hoodie, I applied Nikwax Down Wash and Down Proof to achieve a DWR finish. I have attached pictures for your reference.

[ This is my third fjallraven jacket cuz they 're just that good. I 'd say my favorite jacket is actually the Latt hooded puffer just because of the versatility( you can wash it easily!) And it's a bit of a lower profile. But the pack down jacket is phenomenal as well for when I 'm less active. My only complaint is the yellow drawstrings for the hood contrasted against the white stops that keep them in place. The yellow looks great with all the fabrics, but with the white stopper thingies, they look like sunny side eggs. Sorry if you ca n't now unsee it Buy this is you want something super soft and warm, especially with a wool sweater underneath it, but buy the Latt if you want something that can get wet and it typically a better choice if you 're being active. Just know that the Latt is a little thinner in the arms and more fitted PS if you 're between this and the Cotopaxi, this is definitely a heavier jacket and I have yet to lose a single feather which is n't the case with the colorful llama
