This is the perfect bike rack. Pricey, yes-- but you get what you pay for. Not saying that as a cliche but as coming from someone who made an expensive mistake buying a rack made by another highly reputable brand. It did n't even last a year and half before one of the arms( that pushes against a wheel to hold the bike onto the rack[ hydraulic piston- based]) getting stuck and pieces of metal breaking off, rendering the rack unusable. The Epos 2 ratcheting system is so much easier and no less secure. It's relatively light weight and so very easy to put on and take off from my hitch. I love how it folds up like a suitcase and is a breeze move to where I store it in my garage using its wheels. The telescoping arms with a lockable rotating ratcheting mechanism and steel- reinforced straps are very easy to use on the bike frame to securely hold the bike with confidence. The straps ratcheted to both wheels also work great. I also love the integrated signal lights and lighted license plate holder. I could n't be happier.

Happy with my purchase. Unit is not as long as I thought it was. Checked to make sure before purchasing as I have a very long wheelbase e- bike. Would have liked to see tire guides a little higher to prevent the front wheel twisting once it is strapped down. Problem solved by making sure the front wheel axle doesn ’ t protrude past the end of the guide rails. Once you realize there is an order to strapping your bike down the unit works well and holds the bike in a very stable position. I really like the locks on the upright top tube clamps as it makes it extremely difficult for someone to remove the bike from the rack and you don ’ t have to fiddle with pulling out cable locks. Like that the top tube clamps are telescopic; much superior to the Easy Fold rack, with fixed clamps that made carrying two bikes a massive headache. Also really like the lights and license plate position, although it does take a little while to realize your vehicle is a couple of feet longer than it was. No more tickets for having a covered license plate. Bikes are easy to load and rack carries two heavy e- bikes in a stable manner. Recommended.

Works on every kind of bike I 've ever tried to work. It sits securely and keeps bikes from banging. Also, I verified Utah law and it does not violate that law though I would still recommend not leaving it on the car when driving around without a bike. Love this rack overall. Larger weight capacity, more convenient storing( foldable) and it has locks. Three primary boxes checked! I also like the accessories that are available, making this a very versatile rack! Opportunities: One issue is that it does n't lock in the upright position when your bikes are n't loaded.( I usually leave my rack on my hitch from spring to fall. Not'ny more!) Granted, this `` minus '' is minor because it's simple to hitch and unhitch. I just assumed this would be a default feature on any hitch rack. Another observation is a narrower zone per bike. The distance tray- to- tray is on the EPOS is 9. 5 '' vs 11. 5 '' on my older T2 Pro XT. We have 2 e- bikes, which are pretty big. For this reason, we exchanged our EPOS for the EPOS 3. Now I 'm happy!

Bought this a month ago. Have only used on one trip, but worked great. Driving country roads that need some TLC, and handled the ruts beautifully! Easy to build, but directions have no words. Would buy again. Needed a little WD40 to get the mast to move into the right position the first time.

Originally I purchased the traditional car bike rack but with having two mountain bikes the fit was just two tight and the bikes were are odd angles. I returned it to Dicks with no issues and purchased this one. It took a few minutes to setup but for the most part it is pretty straightforward. The rack is not to heavy and works very well. It is not a heavy duty as the original bike rack I returned but I suspect it will hold up just fine. If I was to pick out any weak points it would be the plastic adjustment knobs other than it should be fine.
