I wanted to share my positive experience with these hiking boots. I recently wore them on a Boy Scout summer camp trip to Camp Daniel Boone in North Carolina, and I was particularly impressed with their waterproof capabilities. I accidentally slipped into a shallow part of the river, and my feet remained completely dry. These boots were comfortable right out of the box, requiring minimal, if any, break- in time. I walked nearly 20 miles over the week, and my feet felt great throughout. I purchased them on sale, likely due to the color, which does tend to show dirt more easily. However, with a soft toothbrush and soap, they cleaned up almost as good as new. I was also surprised by the durability of the tread, as it showed almost no wear, despite other reviews indicating significant wear. Overall, I highly recommend these hiking boots.

I purchased these because I was looking for a comfy, still warm, but light boot to travel to South Africa with. I went in June so it ’s their approaching winter. As soon as I opened the box I loved the design and especially the air pockets. The bottom shoe design has pretty good grip. On various surfaces. Including some pretty epic rocks and boulders on Table Top Mountain. They have a wide front design to mimic your natural toe spacing, so there not bunched up. Which made for a person like me with Flinestone flat feet even more able to walk for hours and climb. Honestly it felt more like a barefoot sneaker which was perfect for me. I did not test the shoes on a rigid and rough climbing ability, but mediocre climbing they did great. Also had no issue with water getting inside, except the top part due to me not having them laced to the top. Shoe was easy to clean as well. Used a towel to wipe off. I also loved the fact I didn ’ t need to break them in by wearing them for a few days on and off before the trip. Like I said right out the box adventure ready!. Overall, I ’ m extremely happy with my purchase.

I ’ ve worn these Wrapt Mid Waterproof boots daily for the past 8 months as a residential electrician in Southern California. As someone who usually wears barefoot- style shoes( Vivobarefoot, Flux, Lems Primal, and Altra Lone Peaks), I was pleasantly surprised by how well these hold up in a work environment. Fit& Comfort: I wear a size 13( EU 47), and the fit is perfect. If you ’ re in between sizes or prefer a roomier fit, definitely go up a size. These boots have a bit more cushion and slight arch support compared to more minimal brands like Vivo, but in a construction setting, I actually appreciate the extra sole thickness. My feet feel supported without losing that barefoot connection — and best of all, they ’ re not fatigued at the end of a long day. Performance: Traction is solid with good grip, though the aggressive lugs can hold onto dirt and debris. It hasn ’ t been an issue for me in SoCal, but it ’s something to keep in mind in muddier regions. Waterproofing has held up well. Durability: After 8 months of use, the only real sign of wear is the toe box starting to separate slightly. Not a dealbreaker, but something I hope Merrell improves in future versions. Wishlist for Future Versions: • A non- waterproof high- top version would be amazing — same support, but more breathability for dry climates. • Stronger toe construction to improve long- term durability. Bottom Line: If you ’ re looking for a minimalist- inspired boot that can handle job sites, this is one of the best options out there. It strikes a rare balance between barefoot feel and real- world utility.

I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.

I have severe plantar fasciitis and have to switch shoes on the regular. These are part of my rotation and have been great. I like the traction, support and waterproof features. I 've had these Leikis for a month now and still love them. I wanted something for urban dog walks that would keep my feet dry in rain and puddles but with enough traction to handle light trails. Perfect for shoulder- season weather when it's wet but not yet cold enough for heavier boots. They 're lightweight and cushy. At the store, I compared these to the Versacore. The Leiki is more snug around the heel and arch, but the toe box is still roomy. The Leiki toe box also has more structure and kept its shape, while the Versacore would crease and press against the top of my toes with each step which I found annoying. I liked the lower heel height of the Versacore, but ended up going with the cushier Leiki which seemed to also have more structure for ankle stability.

[ I ’ ve been seeking for a pair of shoes that are comfortable to walk in long distance, can maintain its support, and ultimately be my go- to walking shoes for the 1+ hr daily walks with my dog. I ’ m usually splitting my time between three different pairs of shoes for these daily walks- leather Jordans for when it ’s slightly wet outside, rain boots when it ’s really wet, and knitted running shoes for the nicer days in case we want to jog at any point during the walk. Because the Gore- Tex is versatile, it was able to address all three case needs and I have been wearing it every day for the past two weeks since I got them. The inside is not as soft like some other shoes but it ’s also not too hard like walking on the cement directly. There is a slight bounce that gives me comfort in knowing that the shoe is absorbing some shock from my footsteps and when I found myself at the beach with them on, I was pleasantly surprised that water and sand did not seep into the front of shoes like it normally would ’ ve with the knits( mind that I didn ’ t walk into the ocean with them on and am referring to an occasional splash while walking on the shore). As for the design, I thought that the little weather icons on the shoelaces was a cute yet settled detail. I was worried that shoes like this would make my feet look clunky, but it ’s giving more of the contemporary fashion with an edge of construction workwear. Highly recommend them for a daily wear! I have yet to test them in arduous hiking or heavy downpours but my impression is that these will satisfy my daily walking needs longer than most other shoes.

I love Merrell Moab ’s, wear them every day and have 5 pair. But as hot as this summer has been, I wanted a pair of lighter weight shoes. I started with Merrell styles, but had no luck getting a good fit for my problem feet—a neuroma and plantar fasciitis on one foot and a bunion on the other. I also tried styles from all the highly rated shoes for walking, including those with gel insoles. I have had 3 pairs of the Encore Ice 5 over the years, and wear them daily. I keep one pair is for the house as my slippers, and another for short errands. My feet run cold and these are the one shoe with adequate support( unlike Uggs) that keep my feet toasty. [ I needed waterproof trail running shoes for winter runs. I 'm very careful about proper shoe fit and function since my runs typically are about five miles, three days a week. These were very comfy right out of the box! I wore them, with yaktrax cleats, on a 5. 5 mile trail run, 450 foot elevation gain, and mostly snow, slush, mud and mud puddles on top of rocky terrain. The shoes were the best! My feet stayed warm and dry, the shoes felt sturdy and yet allowed my feet to flex for up hill and down hill running; Plenty of space in the toe box. These are super comfortable and very lightweight for a mid hiking shoe. The outer is only slightly tougher than a normal running shoe, but waterproof. Of course the outsole is much grippier. They are exactly what I was expecting from the description. I needed something with more ankle support but did n't need a heavy duty leather hiking boot. Very pleased!
