I work in a metal fabrication shop and I walk on/through metal shavings, oil, dirt, water, all that good stuff all day every day. These shoes are very durable, they dont stain easy, and are comfortable. The only thing I would like is if these came in steel square toe, or if maybe these came more to a point. My last pair was over 2 years although they were hammered. Just picked up another pair and fitted them with some custom insoles. Very happy with this boot and will probably pick up another pair in 2 years. The sole wears somewhat quick but thats what you get when it's a non- slip sole that doesnt track mud everywhere. Let me start off by saying I am a true 6. 5, never a 6 and very super rarely a 7. I used their size chart and measuring guide and found that I fell between the 6. 5/7 so I decided to size up and I 'm glad I did. I have just enough room around my toe in the box, and my heel has just enough space to move until they really get soft and cozy. I also have bunionettes, and sizing up with a regular width is definitely giving them some room. They are very comfortable on my feet. I purchased the black, and I am very pleased with how beautiful these boots are. Much prettier in person than the picture. I decided to buy a new pair of winter boots since my previous pair( from a different brand) kept giving me blisters. One of my professors used to be a Timberland exec and he always raved about the quality of the shoes, so I decided to try them out. I ordered 2 different styles of winter boots, each in 2 sizes. I did n't love the roll- top boots, so those promptly got returned. I ended up keeping the size 9 of the 6 '' waterproof-- the boots had a clean look and the leather is well sewn and finished, I 've worn them to work and they do n't look out of place with my button- up shirt and slacks. The boots feel a little heavy while wearing them, but honestly I prefer that since they feel more durable and rugged. I 've since worn the boots both with and without thick winter socks and had no problems. They were comfortable from Day 1 and have n't given me blisters. My biggest gripe is that the shoelaces are too short- even when I lace the boots as tightly as possible, I am left with maybe 3- 4 '' of lace to tie with. The 6 '' roll- top boots I returned had longer laces than these despite having a similar style, so this was a disappointment.

I did size up after I ordered my normal 6. 5, TOO small. I was a little worried the 7's would be too big but they are great- I do have a little room in the heel but it is fine. I walk my dog almost everyday at least a mile if not 3 or 4 and these feel great. I should mention I do wear thin socks since I saw another review and she said she sized up because she wears thick socks. I do not own thick socks- they are not my preference.
