If you get the fit right, they do n't pull your socks down when you walk. Very good for walking unlink the tradition tall boots. I have used them a few times and they shed snow and water, and keep my feet pretty warm. The `` speedlacing system '' is a nice perk-- it means( I think) that there is an extra tab that holds the lace on the lower part of the boot tightly, so you can tighten the lower half and it will stay tight while you adjust and tie the upper half.

I would have gone with the next size up if I had known. Still breaking them in, so as far as durability, I will find out. My last pair, Sorel, held up for almost 30 years so I 'm hoping these will be my last snow boot purchase! So far they are decent. So far, the traction, warmth, and waterproofing of these shoes has been elite. I have tested these out for hours out on icy and snowy sidewalks, trails, and roads with no issues. Where I live( Washington DC) we do n't get crazy amounts of snow, but we will have the occasional winter storm and get 6- 10 inches or so. I needed a boot to keep my feet warm and dry when I walk my dog, run errands, etc. But I did n't need super heavy duty boot to shovel snow in. I chose this because I liked that the shaft was n't too high, so I could still wear it with most of my pants. We just had a winter storm. The snow was deep enough that it covered my entire boot and yet they kept my feet SUPER warm and I did n't feel slippery when walking on ice. The waterproof material kept my feet dry, and they are also SUPER CUTE! I am a true 7. 5( according to the size chart; my feet are 24 cm), but I still ordered a size 8 based on reviews saying it ran small, and I think I made the right decision. I think if I ordered my exact size I would n't have room to wear thick socks.
