I 'll admit that I have always thought Altra shoes were not for me. Between the squared off toe box and the zero drop DNA; I just never gave them a chance. That all changed when they came out with the Experience collection and the move to a mid- drop ALTernative. I rushed to my local running store to try on a pair even though I did n't really even need new shoes. That 5 minute walk around the store was all it took. I am a convert- 100%. These shoes feel wonderful. No more hot spots. I can fit lightweight socks for speedwork and thicker cushion for long runs. This is my 3rd pair of Brooks. The first 2 were sent back on the Brooks run happy guarantee with no hassle. I have particularly wide feet and have had to go up a whole size( instead of half as usual) and go for the MENS( I 'm a woman!) Extra wide versions of these Brooks. Totally gutted they are phasing them out and hope and pray the ghost max 3 will have the same fit in a size 6 XXW! They are comfy, bouncy and soooooo padded around the heel, they 're perfect.
