Similar to the pants- very comfortable and like the dri- fit material. The string is a little long and I thought these shorts were going to be short and they are not. The shorts stop right above my knee, and I can see me wearing these a lot- basketball and for the summer. The depth of the pockets are a little deep so your phone wo n't fall out when you sit down, they are dri- fit shorts, so remember your phone may move a lot when you are walking fast or running. I bought a pair of these when they first came out a couple of years ago and always saved them for my `` dress '' shorts. I always looked forward to wearing them as they are the most comfortable shorts I have ever owned. I finally decided to replace my lined Breeze shorts with the active breeze shorts because they are just so much more comfortable than the Breeze short. The extra comfort comes from the difference in the waste band. The old Breeze short had a typical stretch liner but the new active breeze short has more of smooth band where you do n't feel the waist band against the skin, you dont actually know you are wearing them.
