First pair I ordered online was n't the size I ordered so I took them back to the local store and they ordered me the correct pair. The store manager did me a solid and gave me an extra discount for the hassle. I 've yet to wear the boots in the stream but have no doubt I will thoroughly enjoy them. Got these in low top. These are great! Coming off a pair of Moab 2 lows for hiking I feel these are a definite upgrade in looks and comfort. I think Merrell hit the nail on the head with the styling, I actually am tempted just to wear these as a daily without hiking in them, I do n't want to get them dirty! They look fantastic with jeans. Also note that these leather ones are more comfortable than the Speed 2 Goretex version... I tried on that pair and the cut outs for the ankle were higher and rubbed my ankle. There is no rubbing on these, however they are slightly heavier than the Speed 2 goretex. I imagine because this uses leather.

The first pair lasted for about a year and a half.( I work at a power plant that has a lot of construction going on) They are very comfortable to wear all day long. I work 10 hour shifts with no problems. I am flat- footed, so finding good work boots was important to me. These get the job done without my feet hurting. It took only a day or so to break them in. Well first off these are Lightweight and at the end of the day you don ’ t feel like a horse shedding a saddle. They slip off and my feet feel great. I did put my arch supports in and these boots picked up where my other Georgia boots left off. The soles of the boots grip well on many surfaces and the tops have a nice feel and not too restrictive also. I ordered a half size bigger, since I wear wool soaks for added cushion on my feet. Now the only draw back is I wish they were a little narrower by a little. These feel like they are wide instead of a standard width. Again, my wool soaks help make up for some of the looseness but it is not a deal breaker by no means. Thus far for everyday work boots for someone who is on their feet a lot on concrete, these have done really well.

Used them for a week long trip that was mostly walk/wading and in and out of a drift boat. The grip is great and the lightweight feel of the boots makes them very comfortable. Not much of a break in period though the ankles are a little stiff at first. Can definitely feel the softer inner sole grip the pointed rocks compared to the stiffer outer sole, which helps them feel a bit like hiking boots. Would highly recommend them.

Columbia is by far my favorite brand of hiking boots/shoes because they always just fit me really well, and this boot is no exception. The Newton Wander is a good looking and comfortable hiking boot. I do n't feel like it needed any break in period, and I wore mine as my daily drivers until the arches were shot. I always left them tied, but could get them on and off quickly by looping the laces on and off of the top couple sets of hooks. Even after they were worn out and the soles were worn down, I kept them around and wore them a couple more times to do some landscaping work and rebuild a retaining wall in my back yard. They can really take a beating!

I do n't usually buy slip on shoes/boots because I hate it when they slide up and down on my heel. These do not slide. They definitely take a little work to get on, but man do they fit well and stay snug. Being a little more difficult to put on is worth how they fit and feel. After a few days of break in, they are super comfortable. The quality is awesome. I hate shoes where the glued sole comes loose and starts flapping. These are made of heavy boot leather and the stitched goodyear welt means they wont come loose and can be resoled when you wear them out. For the price I DEFINITELY recommend these shoe/boots

Started with a pair of field and stream brand boots, lasted 2 years. Then went for a pair of orvis Clearwater that lasted only 1 year before the heel started to wear out and damage my waders. These simms boots seem like they will outlive both of the previous pair. They are so rugged and sturdy. I love that the whole boot is made of a thick rubber. The boots go so far up the ankle that you have so much support. I will start by saying these are the best pair of boots I have ever owned for wading and I would highly recommend these boots. They are very comfortable with excellent support and great traction. I also purchased a pack of the hardbite studs which work great. I were a size 12 shoe and I purchased a size 12 boot and they fit perfectly with my waders. I have only used them a few times so far so not sure how they will hold up. But so far so good. They still look brand new lol. I would give simms a 5 out of 5 on these. I ’ m sure there higher line boots are amazing as well but for a more mid priced boot these are definitely worth it to me.

Wrong size
They seem to be a size smaller than normal size. I have always wore a 9 1/2 in all my shoes and boots but they seem to fit like an 8 1/2. Other than the size difference, these seem to be some of the best built and great quality boots that I ’ ve purchased in a long time. Hopefully after I get the right size, they will last me a while.

I bought a pair for my wife and 14 year old daughter. Both were a size small. My wife is a 7. 5 and I bought her the 8. My daughter is an 8 and I bought her the 8. Both were too snug. 9 was the right fit. Recommend buying a size bigger than you normally wear.

These are comfortable and can be slipped into without re- doing the laces which is a big plus for me. I bought these because they have a roll over the top winterized bottom. My last boots had the sole meeting the upper right at the bottom edge& that is where it blew out. Hoping that these last a long time like my last pair with the higher rubber section. True that they run small, I wear size 8. 5, bought boots in a size 10, fit perfectly.

Wow. I tried these on in black because I liked the way they looked, but they just might be the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on( and I am not a `` spring chicken! '') Wide toe box with perfectly placed arch support, and just the right amount of cushion. I did n't need another pair of boots, but after trying these on I had to have them. Thanks Carhartt!
