I have large calves( I used to play football), so finding things like ankle weights that fit properly is usually a challenge. The straps on these are more than large enough to have plenty of velcro sticking and hold them in place. The padding makes them very comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time... but they do get a little sweaty sometimes. Using 10# plate stacks makes some movements awkward but if it changes your `` normal '' motion, it probably is a benefit using your muscle at a different angle. You can load more weight then recommended but I 'm sure the stated 30# of plate is for a built in safety factor. It appears to be very sturdy.

I highly recommend this kettlebell to anyone needing several different weights for a home gym. They are sturdy, and the spacer plates are removable so you can adjust the weight from 15 pounds( just the top handle) to 45 pounds easily with 5 lb weights. Like the first review says, you need to buy the 5 lb weights to add to the existing 20 lb assembled kettlebell. Get standard plates( 1 '' hole), not Olympic plates with the 2 '' hole. This set will save you hundreds of dollars compared to having 7 or 8 separate kettlebells. I bought two for 2- handed exercises, so I will be doubling my savings.

I bought this gym NEW in 2001. It came with the Leg Press Station, and I added the MH30 Multi Hip Flexor Station, and bought the Body Solid Dip Station Tower as a separate free standing piece. The one station that I never felt really comfortable with was the Pectoral station. It always seemed awkward for me. I Loved, loved, loved the MH30 multi hip flexor station, though, just the best! The chest press was wonderful, especially loved it for mid rows. Very versatile for a lot of adjustments for a lot of exercise movements. My favorite was the late bar, bars and the triceps exercise that could be done there. Before buying I had looked around for about a year, trying gyms in the various fitness stores. I believe that I made the best choice for me with the Body Solid exm. 3000 LPS. A couple of neighbors helped to put it together for me, I added the MH30 about a week later, myself. I also used a couple of strength stretch bands with it, that I would loop around the upright of the Peck- Abdominal station.( I also really loved the ab- station, it really worked well for me) The bar on the floor for bracing feet for the low- row was also good to stand on for `` heel raises '' for developing the calves and ankles. There are so many more exercises that can be done with this gym machine that are shown with the brochures and poster that comes with it. It is also easy to clean and maintain, and after 15 years of daily use it still looked like new! I had a lot of admirers for this gym, which I had on the main floor of my house. Sadly, it had so many admirers that someone stole it from me this past December. A heartbreak. I would LOVE to get the same gym again, but unfortunately the hip flexor MH30 attachment/station is no longer made for this gym. The closest would be to get the G2B by Body Solid, which comes with its own small hip flexor attachment. The rest of the gym is not even close. With help, this time could easily be reduced. 100% of the parts were included and clearly labeled, instructions were easy to follow. Pros first Pretty much can do everything, plus I 've been in the gym for many years and now for home this can do anything I want especially using your imagination with some extra equipment. I did at least a month of reaserch and for the money I decided marcy. OK for set up, my 14 year old son and I put this together watching the video in about 7 hours using a couple of real hand wrenches and air ratchet, just make sure the orientation is standing in the rack facing forward and the right side is right. One of my set backs was a couple of my top choices came with weight stacks and at a 2: 1 ratio but I figured for the extra money I 'm going to need a plate and bar set for outside the rack for squats, curls, etc so why spend the money just get a plate set and bar and still be less money. I know this is a 14 gauge steel and others say there are 12 or 10 but this set up is very solid and when weight is on smith machine or outside squat rack or on the attachments it does n't move. definitely reccomend un boxing everything and un packing all the plastic and laying it out before starting and do the bench last. So it was new years eve and my son and I started this before company came over and after about 2 hours in I left him in the garage and at almost midnight he had 3/4 done alone. Hope this helps anyone hesitating on this for home but you will be very satified once completed. Cons second None of these are a deal breaker just my experience with mechanicals. I would of like to see the pulley weight stack bars be a hair shorter almost free floating as when I put the top brace on I noticed the bars kinda bowed a little bit causing them at the bottom to have some resistance without any weight on them. But I sprayed them with a silicone spray several times and seem to be working in better. The bench, great all around attachments, I will say this I definitely put 2 washers on the main pivot point to tighten up the sloppy wobble, that's just me wanting this bench super tight. These are n't really any cons just some of my opinions.
