This is a solid and well- crafted knife, comparable in quality to knives costing many times more. As a former Army medic I can appreciate the rescue features as well. The blade is razor sharp and I have n't yet had the need to sharpen. It took a little practice but I can now easily and smoothly open with one hand, left or right. I am so impressed with this knife I just ordered the 2. 0 version to keep in one of my cars. Only caveat, I 've seen some demos showing how the safety belt cutter is n't very effective. That may, in fact, be true, but the serrated edge of the razor- sharp blade is more than up to the task. This is only a good knife for crossing border into Canada which I do a lot of and where many knives are banned and where no knife can be carried for the primary intent of self- defense. The rescue and safety features of this knife help legitimize it.

I own my own Machine Shop, where I specialize in restoring old cars and trucks, and I use this knife constantly for opening boxes of parts and cutting heavy duty rubber hoses for heaters. I have yet to change blades. I have read some of these other reviews where the owners are complaining that their knives broke while they were skinning an elk, or something like that, but chances are they were abusing the knife. I use this knife for skinning and quartering axis deer, and of all the knives I have( even those made for skinning deer) this knife is my favorite. I bought this knife over five years ago and it always comes in handy. Only one time did I have it start getting jammed up and hard to open, but that was when I forgot i had it on me before going into a concert and had to get rid of it. In stead of taking a shuttle and then getting my car out of valet I chose to shove it deep into some dirt nearby so it would n't be found and stolen. When I got it out hours later the blade was n't easy to open. All I had to do was disassemble and clean out the dirt and then it worked like new. Awesome knife.

I only just bought my Snarl knife, but quickly found myself wondering why the sheath wasn ’ t configured to allow installation of the belt clip, in the two holes, on the opposite side of the sheath. I believe the tilted install would give additional flexibility, when trying to determine the best carry option. Placing the two holes a bit closer together, and adding a small slit for the upper retention clip would not have added to cost, if initially designed that way.

Though I read that some thought the snarl's blade was too thick and not sharp, I liked the thickness and thought that the blade was very sharp. I was concerned before I got the knife that without a small guard extending out in front of your middle finger like the Brous Silent Stalker that there might be a chance that your middle finger might come in contact with the blade, but after feeling how the blade is locked into your fingers I no longer concerned about that. Very tough light! I really like that you can just pulse the button without having to fully turn it on. The clip is tight and does loosen up. I have actually replaced my previous Coast EDC light with the Flash AT Petrol. Excellent light, and would definitely get another one.

Bought this for my wife and she loves it. We own several SOGs and have never been disappointed. Only ever had one issue when the SOG logo plate fell out of the handle of one of them. Their customer service was excellent and sent out a new plate that I glued in. The ONLY thing that keeps the Flash AT from getting a 5 star rating in my book is that the thumb post for opening it could be slightly bigger. It ’s a little tough to get a good purchase on with my bigger thumbs and the rather sharp point actually hurts a bit when you push on it. Otherwise great daily utility knife.

One of the best knives ive owned. Have put it to the test being a pool cleaner, it deals with chlorine, acid, chemicals, and its still as sharp as the day it arrived. Once its broke in its easy to open, the blade lock is great, and zero rust or divits to the blade from work. Never owned a Sog before but will definitely buy another one after this one wears out

This is a great knife. Perfectly balanced and opens very fast and with intentions. If you have to deploy the knife for protection, whoever is on the other end is gon na be second guessing their self after hearing and seeing this bad boy open. I see some people have complained about the clip but it goes smoothly in and out of my pocket, with no trouble at all. It's actually one of the best clips I 've used honestly. I ca n't even tell there's a knife in my pocket. I have to check sometimes and give myself a quick pat on the pocket, just to make sure it's in there. The knife is a little longer than I anticipated but it's worked out great for me. It's really no problem. It has just the right weight and balance and it's exactly what I wanted. I would like to see this knife about an inch shorter. I 'd definitely buy it again. Just to clarify, the size is fine because of the perfect balance and weight. I 'd just like to see a smaller version, that's all. Before this knife, I carried a Gerber Highbrow, Compact version for about a year and it was heavy compared to the Flash AT. I can put my phone in the same pocket as the Flash AT and not have to worry about scratching up my phone. It stays so well placed in my pocket because of the deep carry pocket clip. I bought the red para shears after i got my wife's opinion. She's an RN 1st responder. I showed them to her after receiving them and she loved them and thanked me for getting them for her. Who am I to argue. I ordered another pair of para shears for myself and my truck. For my wife to appreciate one of my crazy purchases shows how darn good those para shears are. Try them yourselves, you 'll appreciate their utility and ability to fold up to fit in a belt carry pouch which makes them part of my EDC, along with a tourniquet, P365, spare mag and a couple of pocket knifes. The Surge is by far the heaviest multitool, perhaps a bit too much to use as EDC unless you are using the larger pliers all the time. [ I had a first generation WAVE multi- tool before. I loved it dearly. It had everything one could possibly ask for. I used it during my time in the military and well into my civilian life. Never once had a problem with it at all because Leatherman usually( and for good reason) means quality. I was heartbroken when it was stolen from me. Kind of felt like losing an old friend, really. Funny to have such feelings towards an inanimate object, but we had done a lot together.
