The forearm extension provides additional peace of mind from the added protection. The universal fit works for lefty, righty or a switch hitter. The adjustment straps on this have a sleeve that isolates it from the guard which helps avoid pinching when adjusting it, which is an excellent feature. There is plenty of adjustability for all sizes of arms. The forearm extension is removable as well, so it is not required for this to be a functional elbow guard. I tested it out by taking a few slow pitches to the guard on purpose and it definitely works! I was quite impressed with how much it deadened the impact. I also loved the packaging this came in. It was shiny and just looked super rad. Definitely an eye catcher. I also like the shiny logo on the guard itself. Overall I am cry happy with this elbow guard and while I hope to never need to test it fully, I feel confident it will work perfectly.

[ Well made soft and comfortable grateful for protecting the elbow from being nailed by a fastball. The only thing I would recommend is that if you have larger biceps, try it on before you buy to ensure that it ’s going to fit correctly. This is labeled as an adult size, however There Velcro strap for the upper arm needed to be just a tiny bit longer for a more comfortable fat it did fit, but like I said, if you have larger biceps, you might wan na try this on before you buy it. We were gifted this from influencer and for the short time it will be worn while playing in a game it worked well for us. It does have two separate pieces, one for the upper arm one for the lower arm, which is great for mobility, but they also connect to keep them in place to protect your elbow. This is not a really hard show plastic like a helmet. This is made of more of a softer material but not like foam soft.
