I picked these up at the Bellevue, WA store. I was surprised by the price compared to others I 'd seen online. But I picked up a pair and I 'm glad I did. After I unboxed these I found the quality was very high. The clips that come with this are very heavy duty and high quality. When I went back to Amazon and looked up anything approaching the quality of these dumbbell bars it was more expensive there when I added in two sets of very high quality clips. These weigh in at 9. 9 lbs( probably 10 on a better scale).

These are well constructed, tough, and versatile for both upper and Lower body workouts. Definitely not the cheapest solution, but well worth the extra$. My only complaint is I find it a tad bit difficult to do suitcase squats with them because of them being a bit bulky and if I 'm wearing shorts, they scrape my legs so on those days I have to wear leggings or sweatpants. I have never used hex dumbbells before but the Weider hex dumbbells are fantastic. They have high quality construction and grips, they have a nice and stable width for when you bring them together during exercises like dumbbell bench press, they look good even in nicer gyms, they don ’ t roll on the floor because of the hex shape, the rubber holds up, and the dumbbells don ’ t mark up my wood floor so long as I don ’ t drop them aggressively on the floor. Good set of dumbbells that replace what would have been a lot of weights. Good, compact design means they do n't take up a lot of space in a small home gym, which is great as that's what I 've got. Comfortable to hold for me( I have small hands) and easy to use to change weights. I got these specifically because they offer 2. 5lb increments across the weight spectrum: especially as you go up in weights, sometimes adding 5lbs per hand can feel like just too much for me, so the 2. 5lb option was fantastic. That said, they are a bit on the pricey side: more so than the other options, and they 're not expandable, unfortunately. I knew that when I bought them, and I do n't think it 'll be an issue for me for a while, but it is something to consider before purchasing.

My one comment is, compared to other on- line retailers, the timing between shipping and delivery seems to be longer. these are great for a good pool work out. they are a bit `` heavy ''( more floatation) but you can use slower movements or keep them more shallow for less of resistance, and move them faster or push them further under water( or do both actions at the same time) for more resistance. they seem to be holding up well so far but I have not had them for very long. hopefully they will continue to hold up in my 3 times a week hour long pool class at the gym.

My first impression of these weights was that they were much more solid with a much smoother mechanism for changing weights than I had anticipated. I enjoy the space convenience of these compared to having an entire set of dumbbells and am extremely satisfied with my purchase. Using them they feel very similar to standard dumbbells at a commercial gym. I would also recommend ordering through Dick's sporting goods. Wife and I bought these a little under a year ago for our homegym. Prior to that we had a couple of pairs of standard metal dumbbells. We wanted these to replace them and have more variety and they 've been perfect. I know people with the 552 adjustables and they 're all plastic and have broken pieces after owning for not too long. And they ca n't replace the parts so they 're just sol. These are all metal weighted parts with plastic/ rubber handle assembly and plastic weight adjusting slot piece. The only piece I could see breaking is the plastic slotted piece used for adjustment and that's only if you 're careless as it seems very durable and flexible. And if it were to break it would be breeze to replace. And you can buy expansions to have an even larger weight selection! 100% recommend these to anyone looking for a set of adjustable dumbbells. After almost a year of regular use they 've been incredible and have almost no signs of wear.
