Bought the parka for my wife and she was thrilled! She is hard to please, but this did the trick. The parka is long enough to cover her hips( she has SI joint pain, so keeping them warm is critical) and was super comfy. The parka was perfect for taking the dogs out for their walk in the winter. It may be a bit much for more strenuous activities given the volume.

If the sleeves length is ok, then the coat is too long, more like parka not a jacket. If you go with smaller size then the length is ok but the sleeves are too short and not much room for movement( even though my nephew is slim). We tried M and L and took the bigger one. I love goose down and it is the warmest coat from my experience( I am always cold in Alberta). Please make it in bright colours or at least with light reflecting elements. I absolutely love this jacket! It ’s true to size and fits appropriately snug but not tight. It has two zippers along the teeth, which is super helpful if you ’ re crouching down or generally stretching the jacket in some fashion,( you can move that bottom zipper up to open the jacket a bit, so it ’s not as taut at the bottom). The hood and fur are removable but I haven ’ t taken either off. The jacket is quite warm and comfy, even without the heat on! I highly recommend. It ’s fashionable yet way more beneficial than your average jacket. Plus, you can turn the light off if you don ’ t want people to know you ’ ve got the heat on. I love it so much, I ’ m considering buying it in green too!

I am a small or medium in all my other coats, jackets and tops. This parka in olive is exactly like the pictures in my opinion. It is heavy, good quality and beautiful. I ordered a size medium based upon the size chart and it is VERY fitted in the hips. I am an athletic build- 150lbs with lots of muscle, however I have wider hips than my waist( hourglass) for sure and this REALLY hugs my hips. Fits well in the upper body. Quite possibly large would have worked better, especially since the battery sits on the hips( tightest portion for me). The jacket is beautiful and works well, however the sizing seems to run at least 1- 1. 5 sizes smaller than average. Can not wear bulky layers with this size for sure. Would love at least an exchange option for size issues on open box items.

I am unable to revise my previous negative review. Hence this second review, following up to share the wonderful customer care I have received after notifying the company of my dissatisfaction with the insulation factor in this jacket. Please be advised that this parka is not suitable for extremely cold conditions on its own. As the company explains, and of which I was completely unaware, this parka needs a lighter jacket under- layer in cold climates. It it roomy enough to comfortably accommodate under layers, which does indeed create a much warmer experience in extreme temperatures; a common occurrence where I live. We routinely experience temperatures well below zero.

No drafts up the bottom thanks to the added waist closure. With the hood and zipper up, my head was very protected. I ended up going with my normal size of XS after trying the XS and S. I 'm 5' 1 '' and 109 lbs for reference. The size small fit more oversized but the arm sleeve were slightly too long. If you 're between sizes, I would size up. My main concern was how cropped it might be and both jackets ended up hitting my waist at about the same spot so I went with the smaller size for the better arm and shoulder fit.

Impressive 3- 1 after wearing out my North Face 3- 1 system I have wore for years. Bought this to replace it and I am happy with what my research settled upon. Love the zip out silk liner as a stand alone lite duty jacket, a nd the shell works excellent as a rain cover. This is a great system for a beginner or an expert in the field or out on the town. Size runs true and is a little longer than expected but I did not mind the extra length to cover my hind end.

I bought is jacket to replace my old Gore- Tex Foray that started to delaminate after 7 years of use. Lets see how well this AscentShell Dry hold up over the years. So far this is a great 3- in- 1 jacket but I 'm really disappointed that it lacks the TorsoFlo Venting all the other Foray versions have. TorsoFlo Venting, or at least some basic armpit vents, really makes a difference when you need to vent some heat build up or want to use the shell as a rain jacket year round. I like that it comes as a 3- in- 1. This is easier to put on and take off than the Foray and Shadow combo this jacket is replacing. Being able to combine the shell and insulation layer when it gets cold is much more convenient than dealing with 2 separate jackets. I like that it is longer than the other Foray versions The longer Parka style provides better rain and snow protection than the shorter Jacket style. The over all look and color make this great to wear in any setting like work, camping, shopping, or anywhere else. I really like the Ranger Green color over the Hops Green of my Foray that this is replacing. I hope they make a version 2 with TorsoFlo Venting and a stuff sack for the insulation layer.

I needed a fully waterproof jacket that was lightweight and gave lots of coverage for long dog walks. This is a good one which goes to mid thigh on me( 5' 2 '') with the rounded swoop in the back that looks a bit stylish. The hood is adjustable so it stays put and the collar gives lots of coverage as do the longer sleeves which can cover my hands or adjust with velcro at the wrist and the zippers are waterproof. The pockets are nice and deep with waterproof zippers also. I 'd give it a 5/5 if there were more than 2 external pockets

For reference I am W; 5'11, 145lbs, and purchased in size Medium. I live in Ottawa, ON, Canada, and it gets down below- 20C routinely. I have had this jacket for a year now and could not be happier. As someone tall and with long arms, this jacket is a dream! Every time I slip it on I feel like it was made for me, the fit is that perfect. The adjustable drawstring at the waist and knees ensures that no wind is going up your back, but i still have room to layer a sweater underneath. This parka is also super toasty and does a good job of being wind resistant. The hood is also one of the best I have ever had. It offers the same insulation as the rest of the jacket, and when you tighten the drawstring it's then shaped perfectly to your head. No matter how windy or stormy the hood stays in place. As someone who used to dread winter because I was always cold/uncomfortable, upgrading to a quality parka that actually reaches all the way to my knees has been such a game changer. I guess it's true what they say, there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad outfits. I would purchase this product again and again. Please never change the fit or the quality!

I bought this coat when I moved to one of the coldest cities in the US( Duluth). To those who think this coat is not warm enough… that is utter nonsense. If it is above 20F(- 5C) I literally sweat in this coat, even just wearing a t shirt underneath. I have worn it to walk my dogs for over an hour in- 40F windchill and still felt warm. The red color is eye- catching, and it's incredibly comfortable and flexible, not stiff or heavy even in the coldest temperatures. After a couple of years, it still looks great, and I get tons of compliments on it. I ’ ve had this jacket for over two years and I still love it. I wear it most of the year with varying degrees of layers. I love the lower side pockets where I can tuck my hands comfortably( some of the other fjallraven parkas don ’ t have lower side pockets in the women ’s version). I love the variety of pocket types and locations and use all of them. I love the cut and style. I love the color. I have the blue one which is such a beautiful tone. And I love how durable it is. I spend a lot of time in the forest with thorny vines, conifer branches, and a rowdy dog, and it has held up amazingly. Even in lots of rain when the wax layer is up- to- date. It has faded a little. I ’ m not sure if the slight fade is because of use or because I need to be better at waxing it. Please never stop making this jacket.

So glad I have this coat. I live in SE Tennessee so winters are more mild than my original home in the Midwest, but the fit allows me to layer so I 'm confident even during my travels this jacket is a one stop shop. I bought a large. I 'm 5' 2 '', 34J and usually wear a M/L top, size 12. The large fits perfectly, again, with enough room to layer a sweatshirt or sweater underneath comfortably. It does n't look too big without the extra layer under it either. My ONLY super slight complaint is that the sleeves are way too long( which is a common complaint for me). If they were an inch shorter it would be completely perfect, but I think the cut of the coat is such that they 're meant to be longer anyway. It's a specific thing for us shorter folks and it's not anything to make or break the jacket for me personally. I went out of my way to pay full price for it just to get the color I wanted( it was on sale at a wholeseller but did n't have the Acorn color in stock any more), which is n't something I do often. I 've had similar coats that cost less but did n't fit as well, and the versatility, adaptability adjustability, potential longevity of this jacket makes it worth every penny.

Well worth the money purchasing but luckily I got mine on sale just before the temperatures dropped and bad weather in eastern Canada. Most times I do not layer but on super cold days I do have a layer beneath and so warm. Extremely breathable. I love the design, warmth, and functionality( large front pockets, card holder pocket, and removable hood). It ’s my daily winter coat on the east coast and keeps me warm and dry no matter the day. The hood is great and doesn ’ t touch my face/disturb my makeup. I ’ m 5 ’ 9 175lb and the large fits perfectly- I can still wear layers if needed. I like the jacket for downhill( lift) skiing at Whistler/Blackcomb:- The hood covers the entire helmet and stays up. I like to ski with my hood up when it's a bit cold.- The big, wide collar to zips up to cover most of my face even when wearing a thick face covering.- It has appropriate insulation. You need extra layers underneath when it's cold but it should be quite wearable for spring skiing with just a shirt on underneath.- Pockets are where they should be and the right size. Some suggestions for improvement:- There is no place to attach a whistle which would be close to the mouth. The zipper pulls where I would normally attach a whistle are solid and not useful for that purpose. This is quite important when skiing a big mountain resort like Whistler/Blackcomb. There really needs to be a place to attach a whistle near the mouth. I may get a little loop sown in some place on the jacket.- The inside chest zipper pocket should be on the inside of the insulation rather than the outside. This would keep the phone and other electronics warmer.- It would be nice if the collar was just a bit higher, maybe by a centimeter or so. Not a big deal. Overall I am very happy with the jacket so far.

Soft wand warm in the inside and durable in the outside. My son got chalk all over the outside and it wiped right off, no wash needed( for now). He loves it, especially all the big pockets. Only small downside he mentioned was the neck area felt tight sometimes when zipped all the way.
