I have had this reel about a week, I am really happy with it. I love the color with just a little hint of purple on the metal. It ’s the perfect size to fit in your hand and light as a feather. After adjusting the reel the amb backlash system works great. It casts a mile and is as smooth as butter with the 11+1 bbs. The gear ratio is a nice for both worm and lure fishing. The drag is easy to adjust and works great. I have many reels of all kinds and makes and this is a home run. This will be my reel of choice from now on.

For context, I have been baitcasting for about two years now, but because I did n't know I would like it, I originally bought a cheap walmart reel. I traditionally liked spin casting. But with the weather getting warmer where I live, I decided it was time to upgrade.. enter Kastking! I love their products because they provide such great value( they are not always the cheapest, but for their price, I have never been disappointed with the quality). So, why this reel? with 11+1 BBS, this thing retrieves like a top. It is incredibly smooth. I am still somewhat new to understanding how gear ratio affects casting with different baits, but everything I have used casts extremely easily, and it has opened opportunities for me to try different baits. I am a big fan of the Texas rig, but I am moving into lighter baits, which this reel makes much easier. Now, every newer bait caster worries about nesting, but the dual braking system alleviated a lot of my concerns. It has made me much more confident about trying different cast methods. I also love that it is light and solid. My old reel weighed considerably more and felt more like a piece of garbage, this reel feels strong and like it should last a long time if I take care of it. It just feels premium in your hand. It was a great buy!

Left hand wind is a must for me. I am right handed but never figured out why so many people choose to cast with their right hand and then switch hands so they can wind with their right hand. The size and weight are also just right as I mainly fish for striped bass and blue catfish with this reel perfect on a seven foot medium action rod and 15 lb. test mono. I caught a fish on my second cast and anticipate catching many more in the future.

Great reels. I have 2 and am shopping for another. Wo n't buy it here because they do not have the higher gear ratio in the left hand retrieve model. Only 4 stars because it comes with combat grips instead of Winn knobs. But, I have swapped the combat grips for Winn round knobs. I even contacted Lew's and was able to get black and gold end caps for the knobs. I have one on a TP1 Black and the other on a Custom Lite. This is my first BFS baitcasting reel, and it lives up to the promises of being able to cast lighter baits further. It certainly works better once dialed in properly, but as a relative novice on casting reels I was able to get near optimal settings within a two attempts and was matching my casting distances compared to a spinning reel. The gear ratio makes for a faster retrieve, and the overall weight is very light when paired with an ultralight rod. I will still keep a spinning reel for when I want to drop a bait to a certain depth since that is easy to measure by counting turns on the reel, but for all other finesse applications I will most likely be using this reel in the future.

The rod is very comfortable in hand and I even caught an 8 pound bass on it and it handled great, only thing is the price should be higher

The reel was very cool and good at casting I could cast this thing like a country mile it is amazing as the person said that guy just doesn ’ t know how to cast it and overall great bang for your buck.

the one other review is untrue, my first bass was my pb a 10lb hawg and the rod held up just fine. the sensitivity is great and the colors are super clean, and the baitcaster works perfectly fine it ’s just the guy in the other review probably doesn ’ t know how to use one. great product, good durability, and great baitcaster

James the Ling cod killer
[ I bought this item about a month ago snd put it into tests. It is light weight, smooth and yet powerful. Though my salt water fishing trip did not get Ling cod like bottom specy, the reel gave you the feeling of you were in control no matter what kind of toothy bottom fish you threw at it.

I own several KastKing spinning reels and other accessories but had n't tried one of their casting reels. Most of my casting reels are medium speed and I wanted to try this one at 7. 2: 1 to see if it would make it easier to work things like jerkbaits, where I often switch to spinning. The fit and finish of the reel are great... smooth drag, simple controls and good overall performance. The extra speed definitely helps keep slack line under control with jerkbaits and topwaters. Anti- backlash is excellent and I have n't had to fuss with the reel at all so far. Top marks!
