Amazing pants. Have worn these on the John Muir Trail the last two years. Great slightly baggy fit that breath really well and don ’ t bind on the knees when having to step up large rocks. Highly recommend after having worn for multiple trips and after having tried many other brands, these pants are my go to. Also wearing the Trail Sender shirt after being so happy with these. I 'm normally a size 32( male, 6 ’ 2 ”, 192lbs) wear a 34 to allow for a little extra room in the thigh. Easy to adjust with the built in belt/tie.

Great improvements from last year. I liked the trail sender shorts from last year and these improve on the previous version in several ways. First, the best thing about the previous version is the ultra lightweight ripstop fabric and how well it performs in hot weather- the only comparable pants I ’ ve found in weight are the Patagonia Terrebonne joggers, and these are somehow feel even cooler in hot( 90+ F) humid weather. The new 2024 version feels like it has the same fit, but improves on some annoyances from last year: 1. The waistband is slightly elastic, which is more comfortable from previous near 0 stretch 2. The pockets are deeper and the zip pocket has been moved from the front thigh to the side hip. This is a big improvement where your phone no longer barely fits in the pocket or runs up against your hipbone when sitting 3. The construction feels higher quality and more premium. Too early to tell on how durability will compare but definitely feels like it ’ ll perform better Very happy with all the changes made!

6' 0 '' 155 lbs( ie thin frame) male and bought a medium which fits great in length( reaches the top of the ankles) and waist( though elastic in waistband feels a little lose and requires use of drawstring). bought for running in sub- freezing weather. normally run in tights when ≤ 40°, but decided to give this a try for when air temp or wind chill is below freezing to keep the legs a little warmer. done intervals, tempo, and easy runs and these feel great: not too loose nor too restrictive in the legs or crotch. perfect tightness on calf when zipped: tight enough to not ride up and loose enough to not constrict. not crazy about the cross- over- in- the- waist- band drawstring as it made tying the drawstring difficult. both side pockets are zippered; good enough for small, lightweight things( eg keys, ID card), but not a phone.( disclosure: i did n't use the pockets as i use a flipbelt for key, ID, and phone).

Not too tight but fitted enough to to be flattering not feel like your wearing hiking pants. There are tons of pockets and I mean pockets that actually hold things including your phone! There seems to be extra material in the front though, making the front of the pants baggy and the pockets pooch out. The ripstop pants are very comfortable. It is nice to have relaxed fit pants that also have an elastic waist when working. I work outside with fruit trees and having comfort while bending, squatting, or climbing ladders is important. My only complaint is that these pants do not keep me cool in the summer. Purchased several( at least, 5 each over time) pairs for my sons, 20 and 22. They grew up in the comfortable and unrestricted wearing of the basic track pants with lines down the sides and continue to refuse blue jeans. It is time for a better look! And these pants fit the bill! The ease of washing and keeping clean is a huge plus. I( mom) am also glad for the zippered pockets! Only con, they are a little short as far as I am concerned- but the boys could care less. They love them! Also, this review is for the slim fit or regular; none of the 3 of us care for the loose/baggy fit. If you are in shape and fit, why have baggy clothes….

This is my second time purchasing these pants. I bought my original pair for a trip to Everest in 2021 and I wore them for weeks straight. They have great stretch, and I loved the adjustable waist and venting in particular as I tend to run hot. We had many days of cold rain on the way up and these pants kept me warm the whole time.( paired with lightweight base layer leggings). The inner leg protection for the boots is rugged and I agree with others that details such as the many zipper pockets made these pants an excellent value. These are my go- to winter hiking pants in cold- weather conditions. You will not be disappointed with these pants.
