The Nouveau Green looks a little more teal in the photos, more dark green in real life. I wish the piping were n't chartreuse. But it's sturdy, amazing that it can fit in that small pocket, though I doubt I can get it all back in there. Expensive for what it does, but all recycled and Patagonia is a conscientious company. It does fit in the overhead bins, despite being larger than the 40L that is more explicitly aimed at carry- on.

I bought the Pollinator Orange in person at a local store, after it being the one orange I was like `` maybe it's too bright..? '' In person, it is much more of a brighter burnt orange, and I was instantly in love. I was searching for a duffle for its soft body vs any other luggage to have something easy to pack( big and roomy) and easy to grab and carry( handles on the sides of this bag, the backpack straps, or top carry straps!). I used this for the first time last weekend for a boondocking camp trip in the Pryor Mountains. I do n't have to worry about this bag getting thrown in the back of a dusty truck or being left out in the rain. It's completely water proof with a zipper like a zip lock bag essentially. The shoulder carry straps are comfy. there are two mess pockets on the outside of the water proof bag for things you do n't need to stay clean/dry. Bought this bag a month ago and used it on a 3 day portage in Algonquin Park. We had wet weather for the first two days and it kept my gear dry. If you are packing something lofty like a sleeping bag ensure you use the tie down straps inside or the zipper can open with enough direct pressure( leaning on it in behind me while steering). I recently purchased the High Water Duffel from Mystery Ranch. I had been looking for a mid- size waterproof duffel to carry expensive gear in the bed of my pick- up. The truck's hard bed cover is lockable but not waterproof. I had tried other brands but was never satisfied so I returned them. I 've owned a Mystery Ranch Three- Day Assault bag for years and use it every day so when I saw that the company had introduced a 50 liter waterproof duffel I ordered one. The bag more than meets my requirements. The giant central compartment swallows as much gear as I shove into the dry- zipper opening. The dry- zipper functions smoothly every time with no snags. Per MR,s recommendation I applied zipper wax. I utilized the dry zipper wax crayon that I use for my SCUBA dry- suit zipper. The High Water Duffel's main compartment is 100% waterproof, and has been severely tested in the short time that I 've owned it. The bag rode in the bed of my truck during a week long, wind- driven rain- filled Northern California road trip. The following week I used it during two days of outdoor range training occurring in continuous heavy rain and wind in Los Angeles. On both occasions the exterior of the bag was completely wet while the interior compartment and contents remained bone dry. But the waterproof exterior fabric quickly wiped dry with a towel. I like that the bag has minimal organization, which allows it to accommodate multiple large, bulky items. As my rapid deployment bag, it is currently holding both soft body armor and a hard rifle plate carrier, gun belt, holster, pistol and rifle magazines, IFAK, helmet, and light breaching tools, There is still room remaining for a jacket, combat pants and boots. The bag has two exterior mesh zippered pockets-- the bag's only organization-- which is perfect for smaller items such as chem- lights, markers, flashlight, goggles, waterproof notebook, and a thirty- foot nylon strap. There are four external daisy- chain attachment points running perpendicular to the long axis. I have a carabiner attached which holds door wedges. The bag can be carried as either a backpack or a traditional duffel bag. It comes with two quick detachable padded shoulder straps that can be reconfigured as a single duffle strap. There are also two reinforced carry handles on either end. I could n't be happier with this purchase. I 'm actually considering buying a second High Water Duffel to carry clothing and other items on long road trips and/or to carry dry items on the deck of an operational dive boat. Mystery Ranch hit it out of the park with this one.

My wife and I each have the Cargon 40L and we each brought ours on our honeymoon to Ireland, Italy, and Greece. The bags held up incredibly well during the 2 weeks traveling across Europe and they were very comfortable to carry in both the backpack and carry handle configuration. The bag has a ton of storage and the open compartment without smaller dividers was much more usable as it didn ’ t limit us in what our usable space was. I love this duffel bag. It ’s really high quality and durable, and it has plenty of room for all of your gear. I also like that it ’s so lightweight, as sometimes on longer trips I get dangerously close to my bag being over 50 lbs and having to pay the airline lots of extra money. The other duffels I considered weighed a lot more, and I was worried that would tip me over the 50 lb mark. This bag is super light yet still has a lot of pockets and good compression, and the backpack straps make it easy to haul through the airport. Highly recommend this bag.

Could be a duffle, could be a backpack, nice separations for travel. Great personal bag for an airplane. It looks slick. More comfortable of a backpack than the basecamp duffle for sure. I love this bag so much I bought 3 for my family. We use it for one bag travel as a carry- on in the States& for overseas. It's so lightweight that we have n't ever reached the 10kg limit that European airlines have. We are usually around 7 to 9kg for 1 week plus of clothes. That includes 4 pairs of pants, 7 shirts, 3- 4 quarter zips, 7 socks/underwear, 2 pairs of shoes, 1 puffer jacket& toiletries. At 45L, it fits in the carryon bag checks. It can be pushed to fit. The end zip pocket is great to toss in phone, wallet, passport at security gates. Do n't really use the side zip pocket much, though there's a place for keys there. The water bottle pocket large enough for a 24 oz stainless bottle. The zippers are large& of very good quality. 2 handles on the ends are useful as well as the top straps which convert to backpack straps. The only thing that could be improved is to make the top of the backstraps a little wider. It's a bit narrow& can dig into the shoulder when we load up to 9kg. We have used these bags for 1 trip of 2 weeks in the UK& 1 trip of 2- 1/2 weeks on the continent, as well as several trips in the US.

The bag is a little thin( I think I expected it to be thicker because it is waterproof), but otherwise should keep water out no problem based on the material used( haven ’ t had to test that yet).
