[ I love this helmet. It's super comfortable and easy to adjust depending on how I 'm wearing my hair. It also keeps me fairly cool in the summer heat.( Though I do recommend dry shampoo after wearing this if you do n't plan on washing your hair.) It feels secure as I 'm riding in city streets. I also love the matte color. Since I mentioned hair, I want to specify that I am white with medium length fine- ish weight hair. So far I found that I am able to wear this helmet comfortably with my hair in styles like a small bun, braided, and with a head scarf.

[ Ordered the medium in gravy and large in mystic green. I ’ m exactly between sizes according to the chart. The medium fits perfectly when nearly maxed out( I ’ ve got 3 clicks left before it is totally maxed). The large had to be cinched down more. At first the medium felt too shallow, but I realized the depth of the cage is adjustable in the back. After lowering it, the medium felt perfect. As for the color, I reallly wanted to like the mystic green. On its own it ’s a great look, but setting it out with all my jerseys, shirts, socks, it really just doesn ’ t go with anything. The mystic green would be great if all your kit is black or grey or somehow matches the helmet color- not the case for me. I realize this is very superficial, but ultimately settled on the gravy color since it goes with everything. As far as glasses storage, it seems a bit clumsy. Probably works best with the matching smith sunglasses, but I wouldn ’ t trust it to hold mine in place. All in all, it ’s a great looking helmet. Fit is good and this is replacing a nearly 10- yr old giro( which I also liked, just time to replace)

This is my second of these helmets. I wear it on road and gravel rides. I can ’ t say enough good things about this helmet. It ’s comfortable, matches any sunglasses you want to wear, and it ’s protective. This is my second one because my previous one saved my noggin on a gravel ride where I got a little fast into a corner. Smashed myself into a tree at high speed, seperated my shoulder, and caved my helmet in. Kept my head safe from the impact. While wemake the kids wear helmets my husband and i do not wear helmets. When my husband got into mountain biking last year he picked up A bell sixer for his off road adventures. He only wears if when he is in the woods or trails never on the bike path with the fam. I had started bilking on my day off while the kids were at school. Last week it was raining when i was going to ride. I was going to bag the ride but decided to just wear my rain jacket. As i was headed out i saw my husband ’s helmet hanging there and decided to wear it since the streets would be slippery. I slipped it on and adjusted it up. It is light and fit well. I did have my hood over it so I can not comment on the venting. It did not move and felt very safe.

Only issue I took the inner liner out to wash and broke the mips plastic holding tabs. They don ’ t service them so I had to buy a new helmet. While i did not own a helmet my wife has a helmet that she Periodically wears, mostly when biking with her parents, who wear helmets. I am pretty sure it is the first helmet ever made. I actually think it is older than she is, possibly a hand me down from a much older sibling who likely never wore it. Not only is it heavy, it is a white hard shell with white foam interior and looks pretty dated and worn. When she wears it she does not have much to say good or bad. When we would ride just the two of us she almost never wears it. I recently did a sanctioned ride wear a helmet was required and wore my wife ’s helmet. While It was actually nice peace of mind having it on, it fit and felt terrible. As i was signing up for another ride requiring a helmet I decided to buy a proper helmet. I started looking and found a signal in white at DSG. I bought it and tried it on and was satisfied with how it fit. I did not wear it until my ride that required it. Finally i wore it on the ride, WOW It had an awesome fit and i was happy with the number of vents and how light it was. Darn it is so well vented light and comfortable you dont even know you have it on. Yesterday we decided to take an all day ride and i said that I would wear my new helmet so of course my wife wore hers. Halfway through she asked …no begged me to try my helmet. On several occasions she mentioned how nice it was compared to her ancient helmet. When we switched back she only wore her helmet briefly before removing it and hanging it on the handle bars and announcing she wanted a new helmet too. Any questions just ask my wife.

[ The helmet is small profile, fits round shaped heads, nice looking and got good crash test ratings from Virginia Tech. I also like how little wind noise it has. I was surprised because I read some reviews that claim a high level of wind noise. But my experience is this is the quietest helmet I 've used. I also have a rounder shaped head and very few helmets fit me properly so I usually have to size up and wear large. But the medium fit me perfectly. My main complaint about the helmet is that I mainly mountain bike and the Lazer dial at the top of the helmet just does n't tighten down enough to keep the helmet from shifting around on my head while hitting bumps and drops on singletrack. The dial also feels notchy when turning it. Overall, I 'd say the helmet is one of the best for road riding but for mountain biking, something that tightens down more would be better.

This is both my first Giro brand helmet and my first MIPS technology helmet. I like how Giro has the side straps set already so that's two less buckles to adjust and loosen on their own. Coming from Bell helmets I had to get used to adjusting the straps by pulling to center them each wear no biggie for better comfort. Speaking of comfort the dial to tighten in the back is much better than Bell helmets. The MIPS technology allows the helmet to move slightly while staying right to your head to reduce injury in a collision. As a former racer, courier, and bicycle commuter I can feel how that would help. I hope I never need it Overall the best helmet I 've ever owned.

My husband and I did not wear helmets. As my husband started riding more mountain and off road i purchased him a bell 4forty for his off road adventures. He generally only wears it in the woods and even then not all the time( which is fine by me). He says it fits nice and is comfortable and feels very substantial and he is often glad he has it. A few weeks ago I decided to go on a leisurely ride solo. As I was loading my bike I decided to borrow my husbands helmet for the ride since i was headed into town. I tried it on and got it adjusted it was very easy to adjust and comfortable although heavier than my ball cap. During the ride It was so snug and airy i kept forgetting it was on. My wife has had this helmet for several years. She wore it pretty regularly until this past summer. Last year she decided that helmets were unnecessary and did not really provide much protection and that their effectiveness was overrated. I never wore a helmet so it was no concern to me. Trace seems to me is upgraded Overtake which I 've had for some years. Please do n't take my word but similarities are there. Very satisfied with Overtake except ventilation. Smith got it fixed with Trace even with glasses vents to eliminate fogging. That works well but I 've not had a chance to test it on humid summer day. Downfall is that the helmet's front sits lower over glasses to make ventilation work but I 've experienced bumping between helmet and glasses during rougher gravel ride. MTB ride was the same story but I can live with that. It is not a MTB helmet. Fits great just like Overtake. Love new improved straps. Highly recommend this lid.

I 've spent a fair amount of days in this helmet riding my eBike around town. I feel super safe in this helmet knowing it passes the eBike certification! It's incredibly light weight with 2 big lightweight Koroyd panels at the side/back. Since its so light weight you truly forget you 're wearing it! I really like the magnetic Fidlock buckle and how easy it is to put on and feel secure when it snaps together- truly a one handed operation. The overall aesthetic of the helmet is perfect, I really like the clean lines and matte finish, a lot of eBike helmets seem blown up or big but this helmet keeps a nice low profile. Plus, the integrated light is so sleek- it's so nice to always have a bright light that moves with you when you 're riding from a to b in the darker hours. I love riding everywhere I can in my home state, Minnesota, and I have traveled to four other states to ride as well. I do n't race and I consider myself an intermediate rider, but I am willing to push myself to get better and try new terrain/features. With the above in mind, I figured why wait until I knocked my teeth out or broke my jaw to get a full- face helmet?! So, I dug in and did my research and settled on the Super DH MIPS Helmet. And, I am glad I did!... I just returned from a trip to Bentonville and had a nasty crash on a gap jump I missed. While the helmet did n't prevent me from shattering my collarbone( surgically repaired with 10 pins and a titanium plate), my melon was completely protected and unharmed from my OTB and trail bouncing. In fact, the helmet is no worse for the wear and ready for more action. Why did I chose the Super DH MIPS Helmet? 1) Tons of venting and a super comfy fit( Yes, your head will still get a bit warmer than having no face- guard. But, it's not as bad as many people say.). In fact, I wore it both climbing and descending, as well as on the features I road( I love skinnies). 2) Quick and easy removal of the face- guard( But, it defeats the purpose of having it... it's for unplanned accidents.). 3) Great visibility and glasses or goggles fit it perfectly( I wear slightly larger sunglasses, googles seem like overkill for my riding purposes). 4) DH rated and MIPS technology—Why go full- face if it is n't rated for the most extreme riding you may experience?! 5) Bell history and quality.

[ Helmet is overall good, but the chin bar is hard to remove and reinstall. It takes a lot of effort to remove the bar and reinstallation takes a lot of alignment and adjusting to get it done right.

I never wear a helmet when i bike. My wife owns several helmets and will sometimes wear one when we ride together, and she always wears one when she rides with her parents. Recently we were going on a ride with her parents. As we were packing up my wife said i had to wear a helmet and gave me her persist. When i gave her a funny look she said you know my mom is a nurse and obsessives over safety just wear it. I said okay and She helped me get it fitted. The helmet fit my normal male head and with some minor strap adjustments i was able to get a great fit. I snugged up the chin strap when we set off. During the ride It actually was very very light and comfortable very well vented and did not feel hot. It felt safe and i am sure i was riding harder than usual. When we were done my wife asked what I thought. I told her i liked it and was considering my own. She seemed surprised excitedly that i was being safe. She also told me i was more than welcome to wear it on any ride since she has multiple helmets.

The helmet is great. But like anything you wear, the fit is what counts. In my case, the front pushes my safety glasses down and out of my nose. My previous helmet did not have this problem. Again, I do not think it is a problem with the helmet itself, but you may want to consider visiting your Local Bike Shop( LBS) to buy a helmet you can try on with your glasses, etc.

[ As is typical of Bell helmets, this is a really good brain crate for road biking. It's light, fits and breathes well, even on the hottest of days, while being fully adjustable to fit with or without a skull cap. About the only thing that it falls short on is the straps are shorter than I 'd like, such that I only have about an inch of strap beyond the buckle and would prefer to see another 1- 2 inches for better adjustability. This seems to be Bell's new norm, after many years where their straps tended to be too long.

Being a motorcycle lover, i 've always loved all things Smith. And my Convoy is a perfect example: great fit, visor does not get in the way of your view and it's lightweight! I prefer it over my Fox Speedframe, which is heavier and the visor's too big and sometimes obstructs the view, especially when going downhill. Next helmet will be another Convoy!!

Love it! Fits my head shape better than my previous forefront, a bit wider around the sides. Less koroid on top maybe breathes better but higher risk of bees getting in. MIPS internal is nice and discrete. The sun glasses slot seems to work better then the forefront also.

I got those to replace my sons first helmet. This one looks way better and has MIPS which is crucial for him being on trails. Fits great with the boa style adjustment around the inside of the helmet. Will be able to grow with him for a good bit.

[ I bought this helmet for my little 3. 5yo ripper and it fits perfect. She loves the color and that its a legit looking MTB helmet. MIPS is a must too. Only wish is that it had a magnetic buckle instead of the actual clip, so she could do it.
