[ I lost a mitten when hiking, and I really wanted to cry! You see, my hands get cold easily, and they warm up slowly. The mitten I lost had `` gloves '' inside and the extra material kept my hands very warm. Well... I came home and looked at options to buy another set of mittens. Since I like Patagonia's clothing and accessories, I ordered a pair of their mittens. When they arrived, I was shocked at how thin and light they were. However, I decided to wear them on my hike that day. The terrain was snow- covered icy trails in the foothills. Within 15 minutes, I literally had to remove my mittens because my hands were do warm! I love that they are roomy, lightweight, have a great palm covering and can easily fasten onto my jacket. Thanks, Patagonia, for a fantastic winter accessory!

[ I bought these gloves at the height of winter and I have not looked back. They are extremely warm and keep your hands dry in every condition. They especially shined when it came to winter sports because any contact with the snow would previously give me wet, cold hands. There is no such thing with these with the combination of GoreTex and with the cuffs going up so high on my arm and being adjustable, wet hands and arms are a thing of the past. There are a number of handy features as well with finger holds on the outside of ring fingers make the gloves easy to remove even while gloved. The retention cuffs do their job well. I would recommend these for someone looking for a nice pair of gloves that wants to keep their hands warm and dry. They outperform everything else at their price point.

’ m a ski patroller and avalanche instructor in the Rockies and I need my gear to be durable and allow me to do my job appropriately by keeping me warm and mobile. Pros The elastic leash is comfortable and low- profile and allows easy removal of gloves without dropping them in the snow. The leather is durable and stands up to skiing abuse The gloves are remarkably warm- usually I change over to mittens earlier than most, but these gloves are great due to the insulation and fusing The powder skirt is quite large and cinch- able which makes it amazing at keeping any snow from getting into the gloves, even when messing around in an avalanche pit. Cons The gloves fit a bit small even after ordering by the size guide- this can easily be mitigated by ordering up a size

[ I finally broke down to buy proper winter mittens and chose these as I love my Hestra ski gloves. They are soft and warm, keeping my fingers relatively comfortable in 5 degree Wisconsin weather. They are a bit bulky, but I can still shove them in the pockets of my heavy winter jacket. They work well for sledding, walking around, etc. I would prefer a slightly longer, larger wrist so they can go up over the jacket to keep snow from getting in. But otherwise I am very pleased. They are certainly better than anything I have owned thus far( save for my Hestra ski gloves) for serious winter outdoor time.

I bought these mittens for a snowshoeing trip that ended up being very windy and very cold. Despite the less than ideal conditions, my hands stayed toasty warm the entire trip. These mittens are very lightweight, but kept the wind out very well. There were even a few times along the trail were I had to take them off for a few seconds because my hands we too hot! They also seem to be sufficiently waterproof as I had no issues with water getting in or soggy mittens. The leather palms are also decently grippy which was a pleasant surprise. My only minor complaints are less than ideal dexterity( though that is to be expected with mittens) and there is n't a clip included to keep the mittens together when not in use. Overall these are wonderfully warm mittens and well worth the price!

I joined the ski patrol two years ago, and have skied for about 40 years now. We typically do n't spend money on nice things for work, because they get destroyed. I have had cold hands for years, and just suffered through it. I finally sprung for a pair of your Spark gloves, and I was warm on the hill yesterday. I ca n't tell you how happy I am to finally be able to keep warm on the hill. They also look good as well. I will be wearing them on patrol duty until they fall apart. Thank you again for the hook up.

I use these gloves for projects where i need the dexterity of fingers. Like the spark mitts, these had a tight wrist area to keep the snow and cold out and warm and roomy finger area. Also like the leash strap on each glove so they hang off your wrist when you take them off.( No more losing them in the snow)

Took these gloves on a late season walk hunt. Snowed several of the days. These gloves kept my hands warm no matter what I was doing. I fully recommend them to everyone!

Elijah T
I have owned these mittens through two seasons now. Through that time they have held up very well through trees, being dragged on the ground, and carrying around sharp edges of a snowboard. I waited on making a review to see how they held up over time after being completely soaked and dried numerous times, and evaluate the wear on the palm. Both have impressed, but not as much as their warming capability. The thing that will separate these from other mittens is their ability to warm while wet. They are not as waterproof as some other gloves as this price point, but they are the warmest mittens I have ever used and they retain that warming ability even when the inside is saturated. My suggestion would be an alternative to velcro for the wrist cuff as snow gets caught on it very easily, making it difficult to use( draw string?). These gloves have been used between temps of 15- 45 degrees F on the west and east coast in clear and stormy conditions. Picture displays palm wear after 1. 5 seasons of heavy use.
5
Jarrett F
These mitts kept my hands warm even on cold days! I did go out on a wet and warm day but it did n't seem to wet out on me on those days. If the mittens were exposed to water for a long duration of time then it may have soaked through. Overall great mittens and I would get them again!

I love these gloves. I am a ski patroller and need a warm and functional glove. The mission gloves provide the dexterity I need to manage a taboggan, ropes, and tools. I love the leather palms for gripping ropes and the Velcro wrist straps which keep the snow out and secure the glove easily under the cuff of my jacket. These gloves replaced a pair of BD gloves I used for nearly 6 years.

I was invited to write this review for a chance to win a cool hundo. But I have absolutely no problem saying these gloves are the warmest I ’ ve ever put on. Like hot boxes! Pretty sure they are appropriate for the coldest weather New England has to offer. If youre going subzero, arctic, whose to say? But you ’ ll be fine skiing the east. I ’ ve heard that black diamond quality has taken a nose dive, but these gloves seem solidly constructed with double or triple stitching along leather seams. They are still too new to tell how they will hold up to abuse. Hoping for the best.

These mittens are like a warm hug for your hands—cozy, flexible, and surprisingly roomy without feeling like you 're wearing oven mitts. The eternal struggle with snow mittens? The super- warm ones are made for snowboarders who just need to high- five gravity, while skiers, who actually have to hold onto things, are left out in the cold. But fear not! These mittens somehow defy the laws of mitten physics by keeping your hands toasty and letting you grip your ski poles like a pro. Stop searching—you ’ ve found mitten perfection!

The Patrol gloves feel like a toned down version of the Guide gloves that I 've used extensively. The biggest difference is the shorter gauntlet and the insulation only covering the palm, where the insulated inner runs down over the wrist into the gauntlet on the Guides. Because of those differences the mobility is a bit better with the Patrol, they 're a less bulky/more packable and are n't quite as warm as the Guides.
5
Brian J.
These are hands down( Pun intended) the warmest ski gloves I 've had the pleasure of wearing. I 've been getting by with cheaper gloves and hand warmers but when- 17F hit Alta this year, these gloves were a winner. I recently used these gloves on two different 11- 12 hour hikes in chilly conditions. Temps were minus 12 F with wind chill at minus 20 to minus 30 F. These kept my hands warm from start to finish. Even with a good amount of hand sweat they still performed well and the gloves didn ’ t feel damp on the inside. I highly recommend these gloves.

Haven ’ t had a chance to wear them on the mountain yet, but they are extremely thick which hopefully translates to warmth. My hands tend to be very cold, in fact my whole body probably runs colder than most, so I usually dress 10 degrees warmer than everyone else. Bought them for use with an ice axe. Dexterity was a decent for how thick the fingers are. Not planning on losing one of those! Very well made piece of clothing. Can ’ t wait to try them out.

I have a few different gloves from BD, OR, Hestra, and Free the Powder, these are one of my favorites for colder weather before switching to lobster mitts. Super soft and warm insulation, soft but strong goat leather palms, and gauntlet cuffs to keep the snow out when in rougher weather.
