This is a great, scaled- down version of one of my all time favorite Osprey bags, my Flapjack messenger. It share a similar, if not paired down, layout of the larger bag. I find it's a great size and weight for my daily use. A messenger with an external bottle pocket is quite a find! This messenger delivers on it's concept. I 'd like a* tad* more org. options inside, but it's an easy, simple bag to load and use. Good price point as well!

Got mine in Night Shift Blue, which is attractive( even my wife likes it) without being over- the- top. Just about the right size to use as a laptop bag( using with a 14 '' M4 MacBook Pro) as long as you do n't need to carry many additional items. There's a vertical pocket that I think is intended for sunglasses; I 've wound up commandeering that for the power cord/adapter and an HDMI cable. Otherwise, I like the amount of space the bag has- you ca n't carry your lunch, three paperback books and your framing hammer in it, which is a good thing in my book- I do n't want or need a giant bag most days, so a bigger bag would add bulk but not value. Would be nice to have a web/mesh pocket inside the main compartment for storing power cords or the like, as the outside pocket is n't really big enough for a power cord for the laptop( and I 'm using a dinky 30W charger and a 6ft cable). Only other gripe is the strap- rather than adjusting at one end where it connects to the bag, it has adjustments on either side of the shoulder pad. While this works well for setting the shoulder pad to ride in a consistent position, it's only a benefit if you always carry the bag in the same place( in front, in back, on the side)- otherwise, you 'd have to adjust the straps every time you changed the bag carry position. Would also like it if the shoulder pad was a little grippier; if you do n't carry the bag cross- body it does n't like to stay on your shoulder.

This is my only go- everywhere bag that I take with me any time I leave the house. I ’ ve been using it for three years and I love it as much as the day I got it. I keep my phone in the back top- zippered compartment, and AirPods and lip balm in the small front pocket. In the main compartment slip pocket I have a notebook, pen, stain remover; in the rest of the compartment, I have alcohol hand spray, a pack of tissues, prescription glasses in their case standing up, and beside the glasses a Fjällräven pencil case in which I carry my must- haves( Advil, pocket knife, measuring tape, Bandaids, sanitary pad, alcohol wipes, nail file, hair elastic, eye glasses spray cleaner, snack). The glasses case and the Fjällräven pencil case stand up perfectly side by side, and in front of them I keep my Fjällräven Zip Wallet( filled with approximately 15 cards and cash). All of these items combined fit into the Sling without issue, and I can still put my large set of keys inside if I don ’ t want them in my pocket or clipped to the sturdy strap. In one of the side pockets, I keep a reusable bag. For a bag this small, it ’s amazing all that it can hold, and it ’s super comfortable to wear and have on all day. My one word of caution is to not wear the bag with any kind of delicate athletic/spandex- type clothing since the heavy- duty woven strap can snag or pull the fabric. For people who talk about colour transfer, please use common sense. If you buy the bag in a light colour, yes, of course, it will get dirty( the light colours make no sense to me and don ’ t blame the company for that)!! Similarly, yes, do not wear the bag in a dark colour rubbing against a white shirt. It ’s obvious from the material of the Sling that colour can transfer in both ways. I have mine in Dark Forest( same colour as my backpack and several items of clothing) and absolutely adore it. I love how I can grab the bag by the handles or the long strap, how everything is securely zipped, how hard- wearing the material is, and how I can also hook things to the bag if necessary. I can ’ t recommend it enough.

This little but mighty backpack will be perfect for when I am abroad, which is twice a year for a month each time, because it is not heavy or too big for my frame. When I ’ m out and about sightseeing or hiking, I only need a few items, not a great big, heavy leather backpack. I will also use it as my every- day- carry as my handbag/purse. i usually hate splurging on bags because they never tend to last, but i ’ ve had my sling in clay for about two years now- i ’ m a super accident prone person, and i needed a bag that could deal with getting thrown around or beat up. it ’s been handling that very well! there ’s some minor discoloration/scratches on the bag, but all issues are solely cosmetic and would probably come out with a gentle wash:) carries a good deal of stuff( calculator, phone, glasses, etcetera) and i get tons of compliments on it. definitely worth buying if you ’ re a mess like me haha

I love this bag. It holds more than you might guess. When using as an everyday purse, it handily carries my wallet, cell phone, keys, inhaler, chapstick, eyedrops, sunglasses, headphones and a granola bar or two. I 've tested it and it can also handle a 16oz Nalgene, though that's pushing its limits. When traveling, I also add three passports and it does n't feel overstuffed or too heavy. The slightly padded strap is great. The internal organization is enough without being too much. It's also pretty durable- I wear it while playing at the playground with my toddler, throw it around at the climbing gym, drop it on the floor constantly, etc. It's taken quite a beating but has held up pretty well in terms of not ripping or tearing.
