Ever see the character, Tigger, from the Winnie the Pooh stories? He literally bounces with every step! That ’s how you will feel with these shoes. I bought the shoes because we own 2 large Golden Doodles who need to go outside or be walked several times a day. Sometimes we run. These shoes have gone thru mud, snow, puddles, and more, and never missed a beat. My feet stayed dry and I just rinsed the shoes upon returning inside and good as new. I normally wear a 7. 5, but sized up to an 8 and the fit is perfect. I really like the extra room in the toebox, so I can wiggle my toes. However, the shoes do tend to run a bit narrow, so just a heads up if you have a wide foot. The shoes easily accomodated my orthotic once I pulled out the insole provided.( Hey, Nike, these shoes should have a unglued, easily removable, insole!) Overall, I am thrilled with my purchase.

I wear Brooks Ghost Max and those are about near perfect for a running shoe. The Caldera 8 has close to the same feel and just slightly less cushion. Love them!!! I get a lot of compliments on these shoes. I have had issues with planters fasciitis for the last year and half and cracked my ankle from falling because of it. I normally wear Ghosts and have great and love them but I got the Caldera 7 on sale so I decided to try them out. I use them daily, not just for running. I do not run, but am an avid hiker. Several people encouraged me to switch to a trail runner to alleviate some of the pain and blisters I was experiencing with my boots. My life is changed! I have been a long time Hoka Stinson wearer for hiking but the soles do n't hold up well for Grand Canyon and slick rock hiking. I decided to try the Olympus 6's and have been very pleased. The Vibram soles are grippy and durable with the same plush cushioning that I enjoyed with the Hokas. The Olympus runs about 1/2 smaller than the Hokas which caused the hassle of sending back a pair. There was a break in period for the cushioned heel but felt much better after a week. I 'm wearing them for a rim to rim later this month and if they do well with that, I 'm hooked.

I 'm an Altra purist and have been for 3 or 4 years. I have road and trail styles, but with the Olympus 6, Altra just outdid themselves. I purchased these for trail running on small gravel/dirt trails around the beach trails in the hills of the SoCal coast. Nothing technical, just a good sturdy and grippy shoe. The structure and protection level in the Olympus 6 is perfect- the toe has protection and the edge and bite of the sole works great. I was also looking for cushion and I would say the cushion is cloud- like. The reduction in fatigue from long runs is really noticed. The shoe is sturdy, but the comfort is level 10. By far my favorite 10+ miler trail shoe I 've ever worn. I have to order another pair as these quickly became my dailies. I work in film production and I have lived in these since I purchased them. And not that I care, but I 've gotten more compliments and asks about these shoes! The best- I ca n't say it enough.

This is my second pair of Calderas. I really do n't run in them much, mostly hike, and I love them. Like other Brooks shoes I have, they have plenty of room in the toe box, which I need. Plenty of cushion but still feel stable. I am a little bummed about one design change from the first pair I had- they no longer have attachment points for gaiters. Otherwise they work great for me. Would love a waterproof version for winter!

I was so bummed when they put out several versions with that arch support. It seemed so antithetical to what the shoe was about and, obviously, rubbed my feet too much. The Trail Gloves have been one of my favorites from the beginning and I hope that they quit getting rid of the features that make them great. My requests would be: widen the toe box a bit more for some more natural flare, go back to a more aggressive tread. The current tread looks cool but it is shallow, wears down under the balls of your feet pretty quickly, and gets caked with mud much quicker( thus losing your traction). Under most conditions though these are top notch. I used them in a 35 mile adventure race in Bend, Oregon and they were the perfect shoe!

Love my new Agility Peak 5 ’s, super comfortable right out of the box, no need for break in period. So far have done multiple non- technical hikes since its early in the season but they have performed fantastic and are super comfortable for long walks! So glad I got them!

With a more durable toe box material and full rubber sole, these are improved from a materials standpoint over the 14. The bright green looks great—quite like the photo, so no surprise there. Fit and feel is about the same as the 14—it ’s a mid+ cushion shoe, on the narrow- ish side of the market. It ’s got a buoyant feel, without being too bouncy or overly squishy. Runs nicely, but I ’ m not wowed by this shoe. I have a low volume foot, and running shoes generally feel a little sloppy on me. While a bit roomy in the toe, the peregrine allows me to lock in my heel and mid foot well enough that I have decent control, but they ’ re no La Sportiva, which fit like a glove. The Peregrine 15 are quite a bit more cushioned than most of La Sportiva, and I ’ m in a comfort stage of trail running, so I ’ m on my second pair.

Use them as hiking and backpacking shoes, 3- 4 days of light use to break them in, than a 3 day backpacking trip with substantial load, few days later a SAR trip, and a day hike. Great shoes. No hot spots, great room for my wide feet and toes and nice support. I usually wear boots with my heavy pack so was pleasantly surprised. Seem little tight first through the middle of my feet first, especially around the top, but went away after couple days of light wear. Only issue is the loop on the back. Could be slightly bigger to allow a finger to go through, would allow shoes to be put on a lot easier.

I use them mainly for work but am on concrete and dirt both a lot. I have a couple of pairs of the Timp 4 and love them. I have custom orthotics that fit well. Part of the reason for this Altra model. I have almost blow out 1 pair of Timp 4s but will wear them until they are dead! Great shoes!!! Great cushion!!!

I have been running for 56 years. I have seen the development of all shoes from all brands. For me, the Timp 5 is one of the best shoes I have ever used. It just feels like running. It feels like hitting the trails. I know other runners have had issues with the Timp series, but for me, this is just an excellent shoe.

May be the most comfortable shoe I 've owned. 3- 8 mile daily hike/trail runs and the shoes are holding up well and are a pleasure to wear. I 'm more of a diesel than a gasser and these shoes hold up to the 260lb thrashing I give them regularly here in the wilds of Montana. Bottom line quality, comfort, and Altra has great customer service.

Lightest actual shoe with toe protection I could find. Second pair owned for camp site backpacking recovery shoes and stream crossings. They do run a size small and a bit narrow. Just buy up a size from what you usually wear.

I wear them for playing disc golf on dry days. They are snug and have pretty good tread. I drag my toe on the concrete tee pads when I drive& although I ’ ve only used them once, the toe seemed to hold up pretty well. I ’ ll be interested to see how long it lasts.

I have two pair of the Vapor Glove size 10. They fit true to size. I have worn them on hikes, in the water, and while doing HIIT training. After wearing boots for over 30 years for the military& LE the VG ’s are a great way to “ heal ” your feet. HIGHLY recommended. If you desire a little more cushion the Merrell insole is the wat to go.
