I ’ m surprised there are bad reviews. I had the 4s and I actually like these more. Since the reviews said to size up, I got both my normal size( 7 1/2) and 8. The 7 1/2 fits so much better! I walked around my house in the 8s and they loose around my ankle—My foot was lifting out of the shoe a tiny bit. There ’s a little more compression than the 4s, but I actually really like that for running on grass. So I recommend keeping your normal size unless you have a wide foot. I don ’ t consider my foot narrow, I think it ’s pretty normal.

This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I 've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you ca n't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and do n't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. I bought the NB Trail Runners for a trip to Sedona. The Dick ’s salesperson suggested I try in several shoes from different brands and the Nee Balance were the most comfortable. The treads are grippy and there is a good amount of room in the toe box. The shoes are lightweight and comfortable. This was my first time hiking and the shoes felt great from the start.

I initially purchased Hoka hiking boots but found them uncomfortable and the toe area not wide enough. I went with these for a week long hike in the Albanian Alps, honestly best shoe ever! They are so comfortable and the grip was great. I did 25 km plus per day and my feet lasted. I would recommend. Only thing to mention is that they are not waterproof

Bought these shoes for a trip to Peru. I did not have sufficient time to break the shoes in and it was no problem. No blisters, no pain, no slips/falls, even with 10k+ steps a day in rain/sun/mist. The shoes survived the Amazon jungle mud, wet cobble stone streets, Incan ruins, and sand boarding in the dunes. Could not give a stronger recommendation.

Got these for a steal at Ross in Layton Utah for$ 48. A day later went on a 3. 5 mile hike into the canyons and wow I must say these are the best shoes ive worn yet. Super comfortable, durable, traction is superb. Didn ’ t slip once going up hill nor down. Not the best when wet and climbing some granite, almost ice slick. Overall very impressed, would buy full price if I end getting another pair.

Love these shoes!! Great cushion especially under heal. Construction seems solid. Tread pattern is very “ grippy ” and fairly aggressive. Fairly wide toe box is comfortable but not over sized. These shoes fit well as the size indicates. They don ’ t seem to run big or small. Just about right. Also love the detail in the cacti by eyelets. The print inside the shoe, and they even mirrored the Nike logo on the sole so the orientation is correct when leaving footprint!!!

I ’ ve had these for a few months now and I have put over 300 miles on them during that time. Both the sole/rubber as well as the upper show no noticeable signs of wear, which isn ’ t normal for me as a pretty heavy runner compared to most. They have been an excellent purchase and I would definitely buy them again!

Soft and responsive. Good traction. Tough sole with rock guard. Only complaint is I wish Brooks would sell a high top version for hiking. I wear Brooks Ghost Max and those are about near perfect for a running shoe. The Caldera 8 has close to the same feel and just slightly less cushion. Which is what is needed when trail hiking or running. I would love to see a Max version of this shoe for better trail running platform and a High top version for my long hikes where I need ankle support

Overall, very comfy Trial Shoes. I am impressed with the super breathable top and the perfectly balanced cushion. Unfortunately, the Width( 2E) is not available, so I bought the only option available, and my big toe is touching the side of the shoes. I have run only 30km so far, butI think this can be a problem for longer runs.
