I have had the ride 17 for several months now and I LOVE these shoes! I enjoyed my previous rides( 15) but I did have several small issues with them and the ride 17s have fixed all of these issues! The ride 15s always felt a little narrow on my foot and they were hard to get on…the 17s fit wider and my foot slips into them easily! I have actually considered going down half a size but I live in an area that gets very hot in summer so decided to stick with my size 7s to allow for swollen feet! The previous 15s had very short laces and I had trouble doing double knots for race day…the 17s have lovely long laces so no need now for double knots! There is now a loop on the back of the heel which really helps with getting the shoe on! And they are. very cushioned as well as being responsive! I have been able to do faster sprint workouts( strides) which is really helping with my confidence for improving my next half marathon time! I have a spring half I am preparing for as well as a fall marathon, and although I would love to move up to a plated shoe( such as the endorphin speed 4) my budget doesn ’ t allow for another purchase right now so I will stick with the 17s.

I also under- pronate and have plantar fasciitis so it is hard to find shoes that do n't make my feet ache. I wear size 14 US athletic shoes and got a 49 size( about 13. 5 US) in these shoes and am very happy with the length. They stay tight and do n't stretch over the ride like my old ones did. Much easier to hike- a- bike without the steal toe cleats like my old shoes too. Maybe less than stellar: Feels kind of bulky in the forefoot sole if you 're standing on rocks, but it's tolerable. I do n't notice it when riding though. Not sure how long the BOA system will last. It seems like I 'm going to pull it apart when I disengage it, but time will tell. I would recommend these. In fact, I 'm going to get my girlfriend a pair.

I got these for walking. So far I walked 50km in these and they feel amazing. My estimated normal size is ~13. 2 but since no one makes size 13. 5 I 'm usually either a bit cramped( big toe pushed inwards) in a 13 or swimming in a 14. I got these in size 14 and while they are slightly long, the lockdown around the midfoot is excellent and long length has never been a problem- on the contrary, I enjoy the airy feel in the toe box. The cushioning is just right for walking( or heavier runners)- it's noticeably stiffer than a typical running shoe so I do n't feel like I 'm walking on quicksand. I walked up to 15km per day in these, spending on my feet all day, and there was never any foot pain and my legs felt awesome. Moreover, I risked going on a trip wearing just these, having just purchased them- no blisters! I dig the black/white/gum style as it fits quite well with regular clothes.

They are very comfortable and the stiffness of the sole has eliminated some plantar pain I was developing with my old shoes. The only objection is that the velcro straps are just barely long enough( I have wide feet). The shoes fit my feet well enough but only with thin liner socks- I 'm not sure these will work well for cold weather rides given my wide feet( and need for thicker socks).

[ I highly recommend going to a store that carries Ariat boots so you can try them on to find your size. I bought the tack room chocolate and I am loving the color. The pink is brighter in person than on a screen, which for me is a huge plus! If you buy the boots in the size that fits you they are SUPER comfortable, just make sure to break them in especially if you have n't worn taller boots before. Or a great workout, just watch your head yeah? I chose Vibram, a quick fix and better suited for that.
