This is my favorite jacket! I is lite, sheds small amounts of rain and I breaths very well. I live in NE where we have plenty of wind so it comes in very handy. It takes off the chill in the early morning when I walk the dog and I can wear it with an insulating piece in the late fall and early Spring. People complain about the zipper but if you are patient you will find the zipper works just find, just make sure it clicks!

I got this jacket a month ago and since I ’ ve used it during heavy rain in the city and during winter mountain climbs. I can say I ’ ve had no issues with the waterproofing. In the winter mountain, this jacket became irreplaceable for me. Being so light and breathable is such a game changer- I sweat much less, less need to stop for water and I feel much less exhausted. It ’s packing small, so it ’s super easy to fit it in the external pockets of a backpack, so you don ’ t waste any unnecessary time- game changer when you are in the winter mountain. The pockets are awesome and the jacket is super comfortable. I was worried about the Velcro on the cuffs, since a lot of jackets will loosen and let air in between the cuff and your gloves, but the Velcro works super well and gives you a solid locked- in feeling. Last but not least, it beats off strong winds like it ’s nothing. This feature helps you dress lighter, move faster, and get tired less. This jacket improved my performance per unit of effort in the mountain, which is essential since most mistakes happen out of exhaustion. Really happy about my purchase!

I was tired of always getting completely soaked every time I went out in the rain. I had been in the market for a high quality shell and something that was not Gore- Tex( as it is terrible for the environment). I knew that Fjallraven made high quality outdoor gear that was environmentally friendly and sustainable. So I purchased this and have not been disappointed. I have been out in some miserable weather and have had stayed completely dry. My only gripe is the adjusters that cinch the hood down- I have a long neck and sometimes they do not stay in place if you are moving around a lot.

This jacket actually surprised me a bit. I wasn ’ t quite sure what to expect but it is exactly as I ’ d hoped. I wanted a light jacket that would provide some coverage from the wind gusts as I reached peaks and summits during my hikes. This jacket does so well. It is not wind proof and does not advertise to be. It ’s a very light material and you can see light through it when held to a bulb. The stretch fabric feels wonderful. It may not be as stretchy as elastane but it is surprisingly stretchy given the texture of the jacket. The hood performs well and can be adjusted with two drawstrings and cinch cords. There is a small zipped chest pocket and two zipped hand pockets. I can access the chest pocket easily when wearing a pack. If I get too warm I just unzip the pockets and let the mesh liner ventilate some heat. The cuffs are elastic and I find they fit well. I have small wrists and they don ’ t fall up my arm. I love this jacket so much I own two. The Savanna color is exactly what I wanted, like a light olive and tan color. The jacket can be packed down very small. It can be packed into its own pocket but I ’ ve also found it easy to roll it into the hood. The weight is feather like but I ’ ve worn it a few times when carrying my pack and noticed zero durability issues thus far. I have also been using this in mild Autumn weather as an extra protective layer. I find when I wear this over my Keb Fleece Hoodie, it adds just enough extra warmth when needed. The jacket breathes exceptionally well. I find it comparable to the Ferrosi jacket, just with less synthetic materials. I am well pleased with the design of this jacket. I ’ m 5 ’ 10 ” 150lbs and could fit a small or medium. The small was very fitting but comfortable due to the stretch of the jacket. I went with a medium so I can layer under it as I want.

Wanted a vest I could wear under my rain jacket. I ’ m 5 ’ 9 ”, 160 lbs, 32 ” waist and athletic build. Originally ordered a medium but it was much too baggy. Exchanged for a small and it fits perfectly over a long sleeve shirt. The small is form fitting and hangs just below the belt. When moving around and going from sitting to standing it does ride up above my belt which is fine as I tuck in my shirts and carry a knife or multi tool on my belt. The vest is warm and comfortable wearing around the house and under other jackets on cold days.

I bought the light grey colour because I thought it could double as bug protection, since the mosquitoes were horrendous. I really liked how feather- light it was, it dried fast and the hood was great when the bugs were fierce. Furthermore, all the bug/blood/sweat stains cleaned up nicely after the trip and it looks good as new! Quite happy with this version of the Astroman! Still the same great sun protection and durability but the material seems lighter/faster drying somehow. [ This is n't really a rain jacket per se, but it is water resistant enough that it can be used for a short duration in even very heavy rain without much bleed through. The build quality and fit- and- finish are top notch, as you would expect for a jacket in this price range, and it is very breathable, with multiple vents. The only real gripe I have with it is that I wish it was a few inches longer.

[ When the weather changed for our Portugal trip I needed a rain jacket fast! This jacket exceeded my expectations. It POURED rain on us and i stayed completely dry! The hood and extended visor prevented all rain from getting to my face and hair. I have waist length, super curly, thick hair and this hood kept it all in and dry! the length was perfect and prevented my lower body from getting wet. I sized up from a XL to a 2XL as I wanted room to layer and wear sweaters or sweatshirts underneath. The deep pockets were perfect for extra travel items! I got a whole water bottle inside one! The most important part is it dried of super fast and was ready for the next day of rain! It is packable and folds down to a super small size! I highly recommend this jacket. If it can keep me dry during a relentless, 7 day, Portugal downpour, it will keep you dry most anywhere! BUY IT!

I wore this the other day in 25+ mph wind gusts. I wore it over my flannel shirt and it was comfortable enough to pull over my existing clothing choice. The jacket was very easy to pull over existing clothes. As a bonus, it ’s also easy to take off and it doesn ’ t rip off your existing clothing when you pull it over your head. The jacket is a bit wider, but that ’s so it can fit over your existing clothes. The bottom has string you can tie up to cinch the jacket for a tighter and more wind- resistant fit so it won ’ t flop around in the wind gusts. The hood also has a string for the same purpose. The jacket held up pretty good in the wind. I ’ d imagine if it was much colder it wouldn ’ t be that great. But it was in the 50s with a lot of wind. It appears to be a good choice for a rain situation, but was unable to test that out. I would definitely recommend this jacket for hiking, camping, or any even on the golf course.

This jacket is really comfortable. The overall quality is great. The material is soft and it is fairly warm on a brisk day. The exterior pockets have a lot of space and can hold a decent amount of items. The inside zipper pocket is a good size as well. The outside material is softer than expected which is nice. This is one of the more convenient running items I have ever purchased and I love it. I also like the fit, as it sits right on the waist area. I usually prefer for these to go slightly below the waist, but this one is nice as is. If you are running and get too warm the ability to change it to a vest is so convenient. This will allow you to not have to drop the piece off at some random location during a race to have to come back and find, hopefully no one has taken it.

Love this jacket. I was worried about the reports that it's `` short '' I 'm 5' 9 '' with a longer torso and short legs( 30- 32 inseam) and the jacket came to just below my belt line. Amazing. Such a great jacket; it ’s lightweight, breathable, good for active use, feels extremely well made, and has a great fit. At 6 ’ 1, 165lbs, the medium felt tailored. The octa lining is done fantastically. Pertex and octa are both some of the best durable, lightweight, and breathable materials and pair amazingly well. Construction is some of the best I ’ ve seen; very heavy duty dual use zipper that works like butter is amazing to see on such a lightweight garment. Dual chest pockets also clutch and super practical if wearing harnesses. Hand pockets have sync and keychain holders, and feel great to use in a more casual environment. Octa is like super synthetic cashmere, extremely well insulating. This jacket I think can work in any environment from below freezing to upper 60 ’s with proper layering. Simply one of the best jackets of all time imo.
