Purchased five pair of the 10 x 36 Explorer Plus model to use as community outreach nature facility. Tried on two occasions in light snow cover and struggled with one buckle. Called office and they are quickly addressing the problem. These shoes buckle on secure and feel great striding in fields, going up and down gradual inclines. The boot in binding action feels natural, not like some systems that make you relearn how to walk. Looking forward to trying in real deep snow to learn how flotation compares to traditional Ojibwa and Bearpaw snowshoe styles.

I bought a pair of the YC Advanced Series for myself back in early December and have been using them a ton since! With all the snow we have been getting in NY they have been the best purchase I have made in a long time. The snowshoes are really easy to slip on and tighten down and really a blast to go out and get some fun exercise in. Overall, they have held up really well to the abuse thus far and continue to impress!

I am 205 pound at 6' pack less but on this trip I did have a hydration pack with some supplies( maybe 10#) The first and only outing for me was a 5 mile out and back along a mountain side road. Along the way the binding/crampon and my boot worked along the pivot axle of the shoe causing my boot to make contact with the decking material. It was easy enough just to kick it back to center while walking. The binding system is easy to adjust and to enter/exit with gloves on. The Crampons worked well in a cold powdery snow, they did n't clog. As for float I ca n't give a true evaluation the snow was n't all that deep except for a few drifts, where they kept me aloft. The shoes seem sturdy and maneuverable as I was able to climb up and over several snow covered logs and walk about the saplings. The poles included with the kit have lever locks for the adjustments which IMO are nicer than twist locks. The poles may not withstand the rigors of my bush whacking hikes but performed well enough for walking along the road. The included storage bag has a section sewn in that is made of mesh allowing for drying, there are shoulder straps as well as a grab handle all nice features. The zippers could be of better quality, I broke one on the second closing. Overall a good value in todays snowshoe market place.

I got these lightweight snowshoes for my kids because they like running in snowshoes, but have borrowed them a few times because they 're so much fun! The shorter length, light weight, and axle system make them easy to walk or run in. The one- pull bindings are easy to use and stay on well. Just make sure the ball of your foot is over the metal plate, secure the heel strap, and you ’ re good to go!

I have used my run snowshoes several times this winter( would have been more but snow has been limited) the binding system works very efficiently and stays secure throughout the entire run/hike. The crampons provide excellent traction as the conditions were a combination of powder and icy snow. I ran mostly single track and this model was quick and maneuverable as i made adjustments due to surface and elevation changes. They are very light and reactive to sudden changes in directions.

[ I tried to hold of reviewing this item as long as I could, due to the kids needing some snow to review them. But unfortunately, the timing these arrived, here in my area, we have n't had no snow!! We were suppose to get some snow yesterday, and all we got was snow mixed with rain, which caused ice to form instead, which unfortunately was n't enough to have them test them out. But what I can say about them, they fit all three of my kids, they are made well and are super fun, very bright and fun colors, which make them wearable for both boys and girls! They all said they ca n't wait for next year when they all have enough snow on the ground to give them a fair chance to use them and enjoy them. [ My 7 year old is in love with these snowshoes and trekking poles. We live in the northeast. Our winters are long and we get plenty of snow. These snowshoes make for a safe outdoor activity that is both kid and parent approved. The snowshoes themselves are very sturdy and light weight. There are some sharp metal grips underneath that you have to be careful with, but they will give you excellent traction in icy conditions or going up hills. The straps are large enough to go over snow boots. They ’ re also very easy to take on and off. My 7 year old can do it by himself. The two trekking poles compliment the snowshoes well. The poles are adjustable in length. Two snaps are all you need to adjust and secure the length in place. The poles are light weight as well and provide extra balance, especially for those new to snow shoeing. A convenient carry bag is also included. It ’s plenty large enough to store both snowshoes and trekking poles. It ’s perfect for traveling or just storing them away for the summer. Overall, I ’ m very please with these Sno- Bash youth snowshoes and trekking poles. They ’ re easy for my kids to use and make for a great outdoor winter activity. My kids love them as well as it provides them with a sense of independence and exploration. I would recommend them to others.

Bought these for my wife for Christmas so she can more easily do what she loves, which is take the kids out and enjoy the woods and walking trails. These shoes work great for that and she can climb the few moderate hills with ease And easily keep up with the Kids and their shoes. The decking is nice and sturdy, the shoes themselves have the benefit of being maneuverable and light with plenty of traction for where we Trek. The major downsides revolve around the bindings. They worked fine, but a little more cumbersome than she 'd like, and they are n't exactly comfortable for her, which really bummed me out. She says they dig into her ankles and feet, which will potentially create blister points if she does n't add cushioning. I tried them and the bindings feel fine on my boots but her boots are much slimmer and sleek than my hikers. Other than that, these snowshoes are a bit noisy to use, which causes 0 issues for us when we are out as a family, but compared to the more traditional style snow shoe these are loud. They also do not offer as much flotation as a traditional snow shoe, which may or may not matter all that much because, as stated, they are more maneuverable and offer more traction making them decent for winter hikes in the woods. If you are trudging through deeper snow on trails, get the largest size available and have some fun. You 'll not float perfectly on top, but if you only sink 6- 8 inches deep that's a whole lot better than sinking 18 ''. In the woods and rolling terrains these will be a definite improvement over just winter boots and still offer maneuverability. I am going to pick up a set for myself after trying hers.

I have used them several times to walk in a hilly park near our house to keep up my love of walking in the snowy winter. I enjoy being out on them immensely. They are very easy to get on and off over my boots. Once the heel fitting is set it really is just a quick pull on the brackets over the toe and I 'm on my way. I also really like the pop- up heel frame that helps you walk up inclines much easier. Very nice feature! I find the poles to be helpful for balance and great to boost all over aerobic exercise too. There's a zippered bag in the top to carry pole accessories( i. e. extra tips, mud baskets, snow baskets) that seems to have a few people stumped as to its actual purpose... now they know. And this bag is tough! I even have enough room to put my jacket in, with all that other gear. The large bag is just enormous! So, be sure to pack an extra pair of socks and some shoe repair, in the event you have a blowout on the trail. There's definitely room for it!
