I bought this right before leaving for a two week in Costa Rica. I figured it would be rainy in Costa Rica even though it was the dry season. It still rained and got this bag wet. I bought this type of roll down water bag design because I have used just the bags for deep water soloing climbing and they work great. This bag worked just perfect to keep all my stuff dry. Mind you, I did n't jump into pools of water with it on and was n't stuck in downpours. I gave it only 4 stars because I did n't fully test it, however I 'm sure it would work just fine. Make sure you deflate the majority of the air out so you can roll it down tighter. Also, make sure to keep it rolled down evenly when securing the buckles. It will unravel some on one side and you would n't want it loose on one side to keep the water out. I 'm a male- 6ft 180lbs and the pack fits great!

I just got this pack a couple of minutes ago. It is very spacious and can hold one sleeping bag, plus a couple of extra things. Please beware though, it says tomato is the only color they have and that's what I ordered. Although, I received a black and gray pack. But, I 'm okay with that because I like that color. Back to the point though, I got the wrong color. It is a very good backpack overall. Also, its weather resistant. Its mostly, i would say, 95% a rubber type material. It seems very durable and feels like it can take a beating. 4 of 5 stars because DICK 'S sent the wrong color and not even a color advertised. I 'm not rating lower because I actually preferred black and gray.

This bag was never advertised as water proof keep that in mind. I use this as a day bag, it has performed flawlessly so far through torrential rain, sleet and snow. Do make sure you get atleast three tight rolls on the top. I 'm giving it 4 stars because of the length of time I 've had it, about 5 months. It's been on many day hikes and a couple overnighters. I usually do n't go over 12- 15 pounds, I pack a full hammock setup. Which includes tarp and underquilt as well as my Bushcrater trio, pack ax, a saw and a medium size knife as well as food and water and other small items. All said and done it works and yes Outdoor Products stands behind their gear, I 've had warranty replacement on one of my kids school bags with no questions asked.

This bag is incredibly sturdy and if you pack smart and pack light, you can take get weeks to months worth of travel out of this bag while not being an oversized bag( 36L). It keeps good form and structure. It's still relatively new product but so far it has been quite steady. Compression straps, ample space, shoe storage, front pocket, top pocket, laptop/tablet holder and a couple of mesh pockets inside. Side and top handles feel well built. I appreciate the load lifters. It looks good. Would appreciate a full black version but the gray is also quite nice! This one is well designed and will be very popular very soon.

I got this backpack to prepare for my 3 month trip in the Caribbean and it ’s has been so helpful to say the least. I have an overpacking problem but all of the different compartments and pockets made it so I could fit everything I needed. The support on the backside of it helps so much with my back pain and doesn ’ t make me feel exhausted at the end of a busy travel day. Furthermore, the top bit comes off as a smaller backpack which was perfect for day trips. The only thing i would change would be the smaller buckles that attach the front pocket to the bag, they were a little weak. However, I don ’ t have any worry they will come undone when I check it at the airport. Overall, this bag has been a HUGE help!! It definitely has made my traveling much easier.

It provides really decent support for the frame on the back and the rest on the hips, rather than on upper back and shoulders. This is a great backpack for the price. I am giving it 5 stars because it's everything you would want and need in a pack. The middle zipper opening is an amazing feature that allows you to get into your items without having to pull everything out from the top like a conventional pack. One downside are the hip straps. I feel they could be slightly larger for the size of pack, I had some discomfort but nothing terribly bad, likely had more to do with me being out of shape as well. I recommended this to a buddy and he has one and uses it quite often like myself.

I went backpacking in Linville Gorge, NC for three days, and honestly, my best choice was the 65L backpack. It fit what I needed and had plenty of room to spare. The support to keep my back from sweating, the elastic exterior pockets, and the included small daypack are my favorite details. I would change the side straps for the rigid mat to be a little longer, and the phone holder to be more elastic, since my S23 Ultra does n't fit. I highly recommend this backpack without a doubt.

I am very picky when it comes to the perfect travel backpack, and I did months of research before deciding on the Cotopaxi Allpa 42L. It has the most features I 'm looking for in a travel bag and I was even able to get it on sale. The first important factor is the capacity, as this is one of thr only carryon sized travel backpacks I 've found that I actually feel could pack as much as a roller suitcase. I love the waterproof material, sleek design, the organization( especially the HUGE top pocket), stowable straps, stretchy bottle pockets, the packing capacity, and most importantly the COMFORT. I was torn between the 35 and 42L as this is primarily for international travel, and the depth of the 42 is slightly too deep. But the width measurement on the 35 was slightly too narrow, and I figured it 'd be easier to underpack the 42 than to try to not overpack the 35. The only things I would add/change are a top access laptop pocket instead of side, with more of a false bottom for protection, a better strap management system to keep them from dangling, and maybe some load lifters on the backpack straps for added comfort. Overall I love this bag and ca n't wait to travel with it!

My only complaints are two minor things. First, the bottom zipper where the sleeping bag goes can get stuck easily on the zipper guard/overhang. I bought this bag to use on a weekend hike on the AT with my thru hiking son. The bag served it ’s purpose. I was able to carry everything I needed easily in the main compartment and brain. The zip pockets on the outside are pretty useless once the main compartment is filled. Same with the water bladder. I did not use it. For the money though it ’s a good bag. It was comfortable on two 10 mile days from McAfee Knob trailhead to Daleville, VA. My torso measurement was 18 and I used the small setting on the adjuster. I tried the medium setting but the shoulder straps did not lay correctly on my back.

This backpack is very big and sturdy and it can definitely hold a lot of whatever you need. I like that is has additional smaller pockets on the handles and straps to keep small things like wallets, cash, or cards dry and separate from the rest of the items you 're holding. the arm and waist straps are seemingly strong and easy to adjust to proper fit, and they hold the pack in place very securely. It's also nice looking and the easy to remove/attach waterproof cover is an additional plus.

It has buckles that can keep the backpack more compact, or unclipped, can expand to the full size. I have been shopping for a backpack for a few months now, reading all the reviews. I was n't quite sure what I wanted, so I ended up ordering a few different ones. This 45 L pathway 2 backpack is likely my favorite in a lot of ways. The waist strap is great with good cushioning, preferable imo to the current sytle of thin straps. The chest strap is nice too, adjustable height. The layout of pockets is pretty much spot on on this bag, I could n't ask for a better design. Even compared to more expensive brands. Super happy with this and have purchased a second. Will continue to look at high sierra in the future.

I 'm really liking this compact backpack canopy, especially after buying a different one from a different store originally. They were the same size, style and price, but the first one I bought had mesh panels around the frame, including between the top and wall, leaving a gap of coverage and they would catch in the velcro. After returning that one, I picked up this Quest canopy and was much more satisfied with the sturdiness of the frame and thicker fabric in one solid piece- no mesh! While it's true this canopy does n't stand as tall as a standard 10x10, it's comfortable for sitting under in chairs and the compact size when storing and transporting is worth the trade off for us. It's easy enough to bring and set up by myself for the kids' swim practices, while a 10x10 would be too much hassle. I have been very popular at practices when I bring this canopy. We used this at our first swim meet and set up two chairs and a blanket and it worked for us. I could lift and rotate the whole canopy as needed to adjust the orientation of the canopy wall as the day went on. Almost everyone else had a 10x10, but they also involved wagons and lots of hauling gear around. We were happy with our relatively light load and the minimal space needed for storage at home.

We bought this for my son as we got more into backpacking. This pack is versatile and handles his gear nicely. It isn ’ t unusual for him to strap the sleeping pad to the bottom of the pack. We use light gear, but definitely not all ultralight ultra compact gear. Durability is not a concern. I have a larger 80L pack and am considering getting this same pack for a more compact carry. I would say this pack could fit the bill for beginners and advanced users alike.

[ I really like the convenience and efficiency of being able to see and identify what is in each sack without having to try to either remember or open the darn things and paw through the contents. These things are tough and durable, and if keeping things dry is an issue they can always easily be put in a dry bag. Just received my brand new Stout 70 from rei. A tad disappointed they didn ’ t have the green or orange, but all in all I ’ m excited to put this to use. It ’s purpose will be to get me thru a 100 mile trek I ’ ll be doing for an autoimmune charity, and I imagine by my first impressions that it will do just fine. Plenty of pockets, included rain cover, and comfy straps. Rei helped me fit it and it seems to be quite functional compared to my old external frame pack from the 90 ’s.

This is one of Gregory's basic packs, essentially a Baltoro with fewer bells and whistles. I needed a 70 liter pack for a 12 day Philmont Trek, and it survived 2 years of shakedown hikes, and 2 more years of `` regular '' weekend camping use. I 'm really liking this compact backpack canopy, especially after buying a different one from a different store originally. They were the same size, style and price, but the first one I bought had mesh panels around the frame, including between the top and wall, leaving a gap of coverage and they would catch in the velcro. After returning that one, I picked up this Quest canopy and was much more satisfied with the sturdiness of the frame and thicker fabric in one solid piece- no mesh! While it's true this canopy does n't stand as tall as a standard 10x10, it's comfortable for sitting under in chairs and the compact size when storing and transporting is worth the trade off for us. It's easy enough to bring and set up by myself for the kids' swim practices, while a 10x10 would be too much hassle. I have been very popular at practices when I bring this canopy. We used this at our first swim meet and set up two chairs and a blanket and it worked for us. I could lift and rotate the whole canopy as needed to adjust the orientation of the canopy wall as the day went on. Almost everyone else had a 10x10, but they also involved wagons and lots of hauling gear around. We were happy with our relatively light load and the minimal space needed for storage at home.

This is a small shelter, about 5ft tall- 6ft in the center. Meant to be like a large umbrella- not to hold events under. Lightweight, fast pop- up and tear down. Great to sit under at kids sporting events, or to beat the heat a small tailgate. Fits inside the width of a parking space without overlapping other peoples spaces- so very versatile. Sits low to cut the sun angle. Sat under it in parking lot before professional sporting event and kept us cool on a very hot day. [ I use it for a 10 deg hammock under quilt as mine only came with a stuff sack. Works well and is lightweight making it easier to keep things in my bag organized and where I want them in my bag. I 've only used it 3 times so far but i do n't see any issues of wear and tear for many years as i do n't usually beat up a compression sack.
