The taste or smell is what you would expect froma plastic strawberry flavored dental waxy gel. Btter than nothing I guess. My only concern is that, I do have an over bite and this forces me to correct it which is a good thing. Just uncomfortable. If you have a really crooked bite, I can see this bothering your lower bite.

[ I play football and am a linemen so every now and then I get a few shots to the face and powerful ones at that. I have had my jaw rocked and bell rung a few times and now that I have this mouth guard, my teeth are safer. There is a gap in the middle to help with breathing and you do n't need to boil it so it's ready to go right from the start. The charm is a little unnecessary but can easily be taken off if you it's distracting. The price is n't too bad and there are many designs to choose from. It got the job done.
