[ Im on my third pair and these have been a great `` in between '' shoe. The stiffness and stability is right in the middle of a lightweight trainer and the other adidas hiking shoes. The goretex and big soft tread are great when walking the dog through deep and wet grass. And the weight is close enough to a trainer to still make them practical for travelling or other walking activities. Compared to other adidas running shoes they are a little more roomy for thicker socks but not enough to size down.

Recently purchased these as a light hiker for dog walks on trails. I have a couple of foot issues that require a wider toe box and these delivered. There's a little more of a heel lift to these vs. the Altra Olympus, but not much. They run pretty wide. I put orthotics in mine and they 're really supportive; I can hike for hours and my feet do n't even get tired!

Excellent, durable shoes with great support. These shoes hold up well and are excellent hiking and walking shoes, and are very comfortable to wear all day long. That said, if anyone is listening at Merrell- the cleats on the soles of the shoes are shaped in a way that makes them prone to picking up stones/gravel, and so they have to be removed before entering my home( hardwood floors). Many other shoes do n't have this problem.
