I got them to screw into the rafters to clip my sets of paddles to the ceiling. The end tips close a tad behind the paddle, keeping it secure and can hang upside down. I am very happy with my purchase of the Malone J- dock Kayak& Gear storage rack. Installation was easy. I did use a bigger drill bit than instructed to drill the pilot holes for the screws, and used socket rather than a wrench to make it easier on myself. The whole installation was about 20 minutes. Once installed, placing my kayaks in the cradles took about 10 minutes. The straps to hang the second kayak did not ratchet as easily as I would have liked, and I suggest using your own straps, having help to take weight off the straps while you ratchet them up, or using something under the kayak to hold it up while you tighten the straps. Either way, once they kayak is up and the straps tightened the kayaks are secure and the system is great! I also liked having the ability to store my paddles on the rack.

We took our Oru Kayaks out of the box on the shore of String Lake, Grand Teton NP, with directions in hand and gathering onlookers anticipating the final form of our clever unfolding. The first attempt was frustrating. I might have said a swear word or two. However, the second kayak emerged more easily and lacked the initial assembly drama. Those interested in our maiden voyage were delighted to see how light the boats were and how easily we launched them. After sliding into the water, my first stroke shot the boat forward and I knew I was in for a great day of paddling. My wife and I simultaneously commented about how easily the boats paddled and how responsive they were. As a side note, thank you very much for supplying a decent paddle in your package. It paddled as well as my trusty Werner paddle and broke down better. The first test came at the north end of String Lake where we had to portage the boats a quarter mile to Leigh Lake. At 26 pounds apiece, we easily carried both Oru boats together. On a previous trip to this same destination, we carried 65 pound plastic kayaks individually over the portage, which means we walked a mile with more weight, instead of a quarter mile with lighter Oru boats. Paddling Leigh Lake was a dream. Even in light chop from an afternoon gust, the Oru Kayaks paddled great! Our heavier, plastic ocean kayaks totally out perform the Oru kayaks on our home waters of Monterey Bay, but they don ’ t come close to the convenience, compact storage, and light weight we need for packing in our trailer and heading out to lakes in the northwest. The best part: I didn ’ t buy have to buy a kayak rack for the cab of my truck, which my wife isn ’ t tall enough to reach anyway, for two folding kayaks that fit snugly in the truck bed. We had to buy a 2x4 to hang it between two support posts that were too far apart to use for the sling, but everything else came included in the package as advertised. Our kayaks weigh about 45 lbs each and it did take two of us to get them in the sling, but I think one strong person could do it alone, especially the bottom one. Price was great, under$ 30. This was really easy to install. Be sure to look closely at the pictures! The text descriptions were almost no help. How do you `` dress '' a pulley anyway? This makes `` having '' a kayak available to everyone because `` where do you store a kayak? '' is probably the one reason more people do n't have one!

I stack two kayaks on each other and pull them up together. I 'm probably getting close to the max weight that way but it works for my situation. Hardware is sturdy. Rope seems soft but has n't worn out after a few years use. Just something I keep an eye on. Works well. After all this time I expect the hardware to continue to be robust and the rope is doing better than expected. The rope may be intentionally done that way to help with the auto lock feature which is great when you ate toed and pulling up heavy loads. I 'd buy another one without hesitation.

My canoe is finally out of the way when not in use. I love this. It was easy to install and handles the canoe perfectly. I do agree with other reviews about the strap, though. I ended up ditching the strap because I was able to connect the hooks right on to the seat. Up, up and away!

I have been transporting my Kayak for almost 20 years and have had various Kayak specific carriers. These are great carriers and very stable. It only took me 15 minutes to install the first time, the next time it took about 8 minutes. I remove them between trips and so far it has been really easy. The drape is lightweight, easy to handle, and fits snugly onto the kayak with the adjustable straps. I like the end attachments especially which tightens the drape on each side. It saves me a lot of money and inconvenience versus the other full- cover or elasticized covers which over time would loose their elasticity and become ineffective. When shopping for a kayak I was looking for one for both recreational paddling as well as for fishing. I was also looking for one that would be easy for me to load by myself onto the top of my car. After about 8 months of use I have to say I have been very pleased with my purchase so far. The kayak weighs just over 50 pounds. This kayak can be unloaded and loaded on the top of the car fairly easy once you figure out the right approach. I found that this kayak has many of the features that I saw on some of the more expensive kayaks I was looking at. The seat is amazing. It's very comfortable and can be adjusted several ways to fit your comfort. You can easily stay on the water for several hours with this seat. Much better than some of the seats on other kayaks. The kayak has been tracking well for me and is very easy to maneuver around even when fishing. The stability is good but would not recommend trying to stand on it. I 've been very happy with all the accessories. The rod holders have worked out for me so far. Easy to place and remove rods while in the seat. I really like where the waterproof hatch is located for easy access. I have n't had any issues with water getting into the compartment like others have mentioned, but I do still put my valuables in a small waterproof bag which fits perfectly into the hatch. The front rails could be positioned a little better but have n't had an issue with adjusting my gear on it. Plenty of space in the back well to add a crate or carry a cooler. As a whole I would recommend this for those looking for a budget kayak with still be being able to get a lot of the features you will see on more expensive models.

We originally were considering Gecko's drawstring style dry bag, but decided this bag looked like better quality level for our needs. This bag was exactly what we needed. We took it on a river float trip, and it was perfect. The lower half was submerged for nearly the entire 3 hours and everything stayed dry. It held our sunscreen, t- shirts, hats, keys, etc with plenty of room. We did put phones and keys in ziplocks just in case, since it was our first time using it and wanted to make sure we were closing it correctly. The strap made carrying and tying down to the tube easy. I would definitely recommend it. The only thing is to make sure you roll down the top enough to ensure a good seal. It says on the bag to roll `` at least 3 times '' but I would recommend rolling basically until you reach the top of your contents.
