A few triangles of synthetic material seem to be somewhat breathable. The forefoot is flexible and roomy, for the balls of the feet and the toes. Good ground feel and ‘ touch ’. I only would like to point out that, despite being advertised as retro running shoe, this model easily get ripped on the upper sole if you have a wide feet and run/jog a lot( specifically 500 km per month).
