I use a variety of weights. Targeting crappie, smallmouth, and walleye. They are a light wire hook. So I would recommend not going above 10 or 12 pound test with a properly set drag. Definitely my go to lure. If you just wan na catch a fish tie one of these on. Its small but VERY loud for a tiny lipless crankbait. Can cast really good even with a bait caster and is fairly aerodynamic, lands straight and belly down `` 99% '' of the time. I use this for both salt and fresh water. Ive caught panfish of many sizes along with bass, chain pickerel, crappie, white+ yellow perch, red drum, baby striper barely longer than the bait to 20+ inchers. Its just a fish catcher! This is a durable walking bait with a loud knocking sound and strong saltwater hooks. I use this for freshwater bass fishing. It has good action and walks the dog easily. I wish Dick's offered it in other color choices more inline with freshwater bass fishing.
