Neither my husband or I wore a bike helmet in the past. This spring I bought an expensive bell helmet mail order and wore it two or three times before leaving it on the shelf for good it felt a little large too me and very uncomfortable. After i got my husband a speedometer this summer we noticed we were often going 20 mph or faster. After my husband came home From a solo ride where he said he was going particularly fast almost 30 mph( yikes) I told him that he should really be wearing a helmet and suggesting he try the helmet I had bought. I noticed my husband returned home from from his next few solo rides with my helmet. I finally asked how he liked wearing a helmet and he told me it was quite comfortable and made him feel much safer. He also asked how i would feel If he wore it while We rode together. I of course told him i was fine with that. After a few rides where he wore it and i wore my hat, I decided to buy another helmet, but this time i decided I was going to the store to try some on. I found the fixture in blue for a great price and loved the way it felt when i tried it on. Last year she decided that helmets were unnecessary and did not really provide much protection and that their effectiveness was overrated. I never wore a helmet so it was no concern to me. This is both my first Giro brand helmet and my first MIPS technology helmet. I like how Giro has the side straps set already so that's two less buckles to adjust and loosen on their own. Coming from Bell helmets I had to get used to adjusting the straps by pulling to center them each wear no biggie for better comfort. Speaking of comfort the dial to tighten in the back is much better than Bell helmets. The MIPS technology allows the helmet to move slightly while staying right to your head to reduce injury in a collision. It is as though I am not wearing a helmet at all. The look has far less mushroom effect as some others I have tried. Sunglasses fit nice and secure on the helmet as well. [ Absolutely love this helmet. Tried hard to go with either the POC Tectal or Kortal prior to buying this one and I 'm so glad I did! It fits like a glove and I totally forget I 'm wearing it while riding. It's by far not as bulky as the POC helmets and it also feels at least subjectively lighter. Love the color schemes as well and can not praise the fit of this helmet enough. Sizing is spot on and the magnetic buckle is also a plus.

While wemake the kids wear helmets my husband and i do not wear helmets. When my husband got into mountain biking last year he picked up A bell sixer for his off road adventures. He only wears if when he is in the woods or trails never on the bike path with the fam. I had started bilking on my day off while the kids were at school. Last week it was raining when i was going to ride. I was going to bag the ride but decided to just wear my rain jacket. As i was headed out i saw my husband ’s helmet hanging there and decided to wear it since the streets would be slippery. I slipped it on and adjusted it up. It is light and fit well. I did have my hood over it so I can not comment on the venting. It did not move and felt very safe.

Only issue I took the inner liner out to wash and broke the mips plastic holding tabs. They don ’ t service them so I had to buy a new helmet. Keeping my old one for spare tabs in case it happens again. Also huge plus they sell replacement liners so you don ’ t have to throw it out when it gets nasty from sweat. Neither my husband or I previously wore a helmet. My husband does ride quite regularly and often by himself and i have suggested he buy himself a helmet. Earlier this summer I noticed a new silver halyconhelmet in the garage with the bike stuff. Not gon na lie it looked pretty good. Since it was not mine it had to be my husband ’s although he never mentioned getting it. Since he usually rides by himself it was easy to envision him wearing it on rides. Last week we were going out for a ride, as we loaded the car i asked about the helmet. He chuckled and said he got it after he hit 30 mph on a ride but didn ’ t think we would be going quite that fast today. I asked if i could wear it and of course he said absolutely. The helmet fit my normal female head and with some minor strap adjustments i was able to get a great fit. I snugged up the chin strap and we set off. During the ride It actually was very very light and comfortable very well vented and did not feel hot. It felt safe and i am sure i was riding harder than usual as my husband told me to slow down at least once. When we were done as i was taking it off my husband asked what I thought. I told him i liked it and wanted my own. He said that would be great and that he felt a little bit naked without it on.. Hope to never test it but it honestly feels very safe and substantial

My husband is probably the safest most conscientious biker i know. He follows the rules of the road wears lots of bright clothes and is never fast or dangerous. He has also never worn a helmet and neither have i. This spring he got a new bike and a silver halycon helmet. I was not happy with him wearing it as it made me feel he was being unsafe and I thought it was ridiculous. He did agree for the most part and left it at home when we rode together although he wore it when riding alone. I decided to wear it last week and see what I thought. Well good thing i did i fell off the bike And hit my head. I was okay but the helmet has a dent i just replaced it and told him wear it whenever you want
