My original pair of Bearpaws for wide calves( different make) is starting to wear out after 5 winters. I found a wide pair I liked, and bought it in the same size. No issues at all! These boots actually fit those of us with wide calves( and feet). I really appreciate that the ankle tapers in a bit, instead of being the same diameter as the leg shaft. The waterproofing and stain- resistance has worked so far. I like that they 're real fur and leather, which is much better for the environment than faux. The wool inside is so cozy and keeps my feet warm without overheating. It's going to be very cold where I live over the next few days- high temps in the teens- so I guess the real test is coming. If you 're on the fence about these, just buy them.

They definitely stretch out a bit so I do wish I had gotten a 7 instead of an 8 but they are still super comfortable.( For reference I wear an 8 in Vans, 7. 5 in Nike Blazers). The height is perfect and I like that the upper part of the toe is a bit structured as I feel like they will last longer this way and provide a bit of stability. First off these are extremely cute! I actually like them better than the other brand that sells this same style for way more. They are comfy but they do slip a lot in the heel. I wear an 8- 8. 5 normally in shoes, usually an 8 when while sizes only. So many reviews, and even the BearPaw site, said these run small by 1- 2 sizes, so I got the 9. That was a mistake! After wearing them a few times, they now slip so bad and they definitely packed out enough to the point that an 8 would ’ ve been perfect. Wish I could exchange for the 8, but I ’ ve worn them. They are very cute and otherwise, exactly what I want. I ’ m debated getting a second pair in the 8, but then I don ’ t know what I ’ ll do with the 9 ’s I have. First Pair still going strong( did have a the stich on one right slipper untie after several years, will have to get it retied/sewn). Basically these are well built slippers that will last several years. Soles after several years have held up well. I bought these for my mother whose previous boots she bought in the 90's finally gave up. She loved them when she got them and the mushroom color looks just like the silvery grey she had before. She had struggled to find a pair that had a reasonable heel and were comfortable inside, but these were perfect. She has wide feet( 4E) and this boot has a lot of give for that, while having good base and arch support, and the inside is well lined too. It keep her toes warm as she also gets cold very easily. Overall, these were perfect and the price was very reasonable!
