Wow. These are awesome. I ran my last half marathon in the Pegasus trail, and I was less than impressed. I went to the Wildhorse but felt those needed more cushioning. When I started doing road races in the vaporfly, I was really hoping that Nike would do some sort of vaporfly hybrid shoe for trails and I feel like this is it! I took it right out of the box on a 7 mile adventure, with about 2k feet of vert in the first 2 miles and then a downhill 3 mile run on a fire road, before hitting 2 miles on pavement. They performed superb. They are ultralite( 6. 5oz in my size) and have a super wide toebox, which is unlike most Nike products. This means that you ’ re not gon na get any pressure on your toenails and they ’ re not hitting up against the front of the shoe. They ’ re super breathable and the carbon fiber plate definitely gives you a little propel forward. I ’ m so excited that Nike finally got a contract with Vibram because the soles are incredibly grippy. I don ’ t know how this shoe would do on super technical terrain, considering it is a race shoe, so it ’s meant to be fast and agile. But I don ’ t know if it would protect you from kicking a rock or hitting a rock with anything near your ankle. You ’ re definitely gon na feel that. I ’ m all in for taking this on my next race and super excited to see how I perform in this shoe. I love that there ’s no break in time with Nike ever and I ’ m really happy to see that they have stepped it up with their trail running shoes. We needed this!

I 've been using the gore- Tex trail shoes with Currex high arch insoles for more than a year of consecutive daily running. I was doing more trail/gravel running til late winter& switched to the track for later runs. This is my first carbon plate Nikes and I ca n't believe how much faster& lighter they feel on my feet. Of course now I want to try the vapor/alphas as well. I have really high arches and it is like they made this shoe to fit me perfectly. I ’ m relatively new to road racing( having done just one half marathon this year) and this is my first carbon shoe. My warm up mile was light and breezy in this shoe and my speed work was definitely faster than normal. I struggled to run slow in these shoes for my cool down mile- your feet turnover fast in these shoes. I did have to size up a half size from a 7. 5 to 8, but super pleased after just one run. I worry that the 8mm drop is a little too high for me to use on long runs tho, but we ’ ll see.

After a less enjoyable Vaporfly 3, I was ecstatic to try these on and immediately notice the similarities to the Vaporfly 2 which was previously my favorite Nike racings shoe. “ Adding lightness, ” in the words of Lotus, is the best thing you can do whenever you already have an incredible design. Laces have improved slightly, and are still the best on the market; these don ’ t stretch and don ’ t come untied. Durability is always the tradeoff with some foams, and is the only possible criticism of this pair.

Nike Vaporfly 4 Proto This racing shoe is somewhat uncomfortable, but yet quite fast. The support near the ankle is not very secure, but it works. Laces can be an issue though as wearing this racing shoe requires a tight lacing setting due to it 's low amount of secureness. This is an issue as it will be too tight, or not tight enough. Having it too tight will result in when taking off the shoe, having a stingy sensation on your foot( 5 mins). The Vaporfly 4 Proto also uses a Jordan 1 styled toebox which means it will be slightly uncomfortable. The racing shoe runs small, so go a size and a half up. Not only that, but the ZoomX foam is not very durable. I would recommend NOT washing this shoe or any Vaporfly/Alphafly due the ZoomX foam which is very fragile. Apart from all this, the Vaporfly 4 Proto(s) is an acceptable choice for racing due to it 's stiffness with the carbon fiber plate and the cushioning ZoomX foam.

The Nike Pegasus line is elite, and they have produced several of my favorite running shoes over the years. The Nike Pegasus 41s are near the top of my list. They are more breathable than previous models due to the mesh upper. The sole is supportive with adequate cushion. The toe box feels slightly wider which I like. [ When the shoes were delivered to me, I didn ’ t think I had gotten the correct shoes with the box being super light. To my surprise, the shoes were in fact just this light! With the Air all on the bottom of the shoe I was skeptical on how this would perform as a running shoe. After a few runs outside on gravel roads and inside on treadmills, I can confidently say these are the Best Running Shoes I had ever used! This shoe was made for running! The mesh upper and ventilation all through the shoe tongue helps tremendously when running in warm weather. Adding additional comfort to the bottom of the shoe is definitely noticeable having no pain in my legs after running multiple miles! Since I started running in these shoes, I have had a new Personal Record in miles for the new year! I am extremely impressed in not just the fit of the shoe, but the overall support with the shoe being super light! One thing that I really enjoyed about the inside of the shoe was the additional padding around the ankle and heel to give that extra cushion. I decided to go with my true size of size 10 and was happy I did. The upper mesh material does help give a little extra room in case you are looking for additional room in the width area. The only negative is there is no Gore- Tex or weatherized version at this time, but if these are made, I would be one of the first to purchase! If you are looking for a new type of running shoe that not only performs but also looks good while running then the Peg Premium is the shoe for you!

From what I 've been told, it is recommended that you take a stroll in new running shoes to warm them up and stretch them out a bit. However, I took these shoes on a run fresh out of the box and it felt great. This is not normal for me by the way. I 'm a flat- footed monster with wide feet and if the shoe does n't fit while I 'm running, it can get extremely painful. The Pegasus always seem to deliver for me. Neutral running shoes work the best for my flat feet and I 'm so happy with my purchase. I look forward to using this bad boy as my daily. I 'm 5' 1 '', and wear a 6. 5 in womens running shoes. Size up half a size for wide footed monsters.

Love these Nikes! I have narrow feet with a moderate high arch and these shoes fit me like a glove. I wore them right out of the box for a trip, walked 5, 000 to 10, 000 steps daily for 2 weeks and my foot did n't hurt at all. I liked them so much that I bought another pair. Unfortunately my shoe size/color were not available in women 's. It stated that the React Phantom Run Flyknit 2 was unisex so I took a chance and bought a men 's size 6( I wear women 's 7. 5 in this shoe). Do NOT buy it in a men 's size. The arch is in a weird position for my feet. Stick to the women 's sizes.

I done a couple of run in the Hyperion 2, and I 'm loving them, so comfortable and the curved front helps with hills. I would recommend these trainers, I would advised to size up, I 'm usually a size 8, but got a size 9 and am glad I did especially for the summer to help with my feet swelling.

I love these shoes! I had two pairs of the 5s. The rubber did come off on the bottom the first week but I superglued it back on. I hiked the Tour du Mont Blanc in these babies and they did great! Love the extra cushioning and durability. Will definitely buy them again for my next long hike. The extra cushioning prevented any foot pain. I 'd say they lasted a whole summer of maybe 200 miles of hiking!

[ Altra gave me a free pair of Olympus 6 shoes to test and review. At first, I found them a bit tight and bulky, with a snug toe box that caused some rubbing on my pinky toe during the initial runs. I only had the issue with the right shoe. For context, I typically wear a women 's 8. 5W or a men 's 7. 5D in running shoes. However, 8. 5 regular in the Lone Peaks fit great. I noticed that the toe box of the Olympus 6 felt narrower compared to the Lone Peaks, but wearing lightweight socks helped alleviate this issue. After running and hiking over 100 miles in the last 4 weeks on various terrains, I was surprised by how well these shoes performed. During a 16- mile trail run in the Porcupine Mountains, my feet did n't feel as tired as they usually do, thanks to the extra cushioning. The Vibram® Megagrip soles came in handy and prevented potential slips on loose gravel, muddy, and slippery trails. If you 're considering longer, technical trail runs, I highly recommend the Olympus 6.

[ ALTRA gave me this free product to try. I have been wanting to try the larger toe box but unsure about the low drop and the max cushioned and how my feet would react to that. I 'm happy to report my feet are very happy in these shoes!! I especially love the `` Gaiter Trap '' on these shoes! No need to mess with putting my own hook/loop stuff, these have it securely built in. The stack height is larger than I 'm used to so I thought I 'd trip over nature but nope, not anymore than my normal clumsiness! The cushion is great to keep feet fresh while going the distance. The snug heel hangs on tight to help avoid slippage. The Vibram soles have the perfect grip to keep me upright on mud and wet grass and gravel!

[ All I run in is Altra 's, so I was stoked when Altra gave me this free product to try. The Olympus 6 's look a bit like oversize clown shoes, however, they are SO comfortable I just love running in them! Recently, I was running up a muddy hill along Minnehaha Creek in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and some guy and his dog tried to run up the same hill, and he started sliding down it! I reached my hand out to help him get up the hill, and so he grabbed onto it, and the grip of these shoes was nearly strong enough to hold up him and me, but eventually he started to drag me down the hill with him, so I yelled at him to let go, as he propelled up. It was reaffirming to me though how well these Olympus 6 's performed compared to other trail shoes- especially on the wet/muddy ground! These Olympus 6 's have one heck of a grip! The colors are decent( I always prefer men 's colors to women 's, but the women 's are okay on this model shoe). The heel is a bit large on me, and the shoes look silly on my skinny legs, but these really are super comfortable shoes that still feel pretty lightweight( all things considered) and really do perform well! For someone looking for a high cushioned shoe with good traction, I 'd highly recommend the Olympus 6 's. Thanks Altra for providing these shoes for free to me so I could review them. I sure do love them!
